  1. Yes, you are allowed to get a state id. Each state might be different.

My hubby came to the US on a K-1 as well. We went to the DMV and he was denied because the I-94 did not have 60 left before it exp. He only had 54 days left so now we have to wait until his AOS is processed.

  2. Packet 3 has the DS230 that has to be returned in order to get your interview date. (The fastest way is to email it back to the embassy)

It also has a check off list of the items that you need to bring to the interview.

..the places that you can take the medical.

The applications that are needed for the day of the interview are also in packet 3.

Packet 4 has the letter with the interview date and time.

Duplicate information that was in packet 3… like the check off list, places to take the medical and the applications needed for the interview.

Are you aware of what is needed for the interview? Like supporting documents?

  3. This happened to us as well for packet 3 and 4.

I've never been able to call and get any information.

You can send an email to consularkingst@state.gov to confirm if the packet was sent out. Be sure to include your case number.

If it has been sent out and you havent revd it then they will give you a date and time to come pick up a duplicate copy.

    Good luck!

  4. Hi!

We just went through this process…

Fill out the DS-230 part 1 and email it back.

Once the embassy receives the DS-230 part 1 they will issue the interview date and packet 4.

At the interview bring the DS-156, DS 156k and DS-157. You do not need to fill out the DS-160.

No, we didn’t mail anything to the embassy. Take all of your supporting documents and applications with you to the interview.

You will need to take the appointment letter to the medical so I would hold off on making the appointment right now.

Out of the three options to take the medical call your local one to check the prices. You pay for the medical exam and any vaccines he may need.

We were told to bring at least 20,000jmd and ended up paying 15,000.

Also, the instructions say the visa application is $350usd. When we went to the bank to pay for the visa it ended up being $393usd so be prepared.

It depends on the conversion I was told. Tell Nattoy to take his passport with him to the bank.

I’m not sure about the co-sponsoring information.

Here is the link for the DS-156 http://evisaforms.state.gov/

    Wish you the best!

  5. Hi!

That happened to us as well.

It just means that the passport originated from Kingston and the nearest service facility is Kingston.

The shipment on hold means the Embassy still has the passport and has not sent it out.

If you call the local DHL number a customer service rep will also explain this.

I called DHL in the U.S. and they had no clue as to what’s going with the package and referred us to the local DHL number. The local number is 876-920-0010. They open at 8:30a local time.

Ours said Montego Bay and I was concerned that we would have to pick it up in Mobo.

It just meant the closest facility to St. Ann’s is Mobo.

DHL should call the number you provided when you paid for the service before they attempt to deliver it.

I would also recommend that you sign up for the notification via text or email online.

    Hope all goes well!

  6. Congrads on getting approved!!

I am not sure about the medical records. We were told to have the visa packet and passport.

There shouldnt be an issue getting the marriage certificate/license.

They really just ask for bacic information.

Here is a site for your reference. You can fill the application out online and then take it in.
