  1. JUST FINISHED AP!! such a relief that it only took 2 weeks. THANK GOD! Good luck to everyone else still in AP. It sucks and isn't right. I would like to work in the DOS one day and try to change all this BS.

mkl what evidence did you submit with your original USCIS app? How did the interviews go?

I really went overboard for submitting documents proving our relationship. I think it helped avoiding any of those problems.

  2. CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance::dance: Wish you all the best!!!:dance:

I wish I could say the same but I still am not sure. I spoke to my wife today. Boy Filipinos are hard headed and will not accept responsibility!!! I am speaking of my wife of course. First off I tell her I am not happy that she waited so long to inform me about whats going on. So she said I already told you I am sorry in the email.:cry: Well you should know me by now. I can not let that stand. So I told her "I am sorry" are only words that have little meaning unless they are accompanied by action. They are not a get out of jail free card. Then I said oh I am sorry. Then I ask her to tell me what happened and she softly proceeded.

Turns out when she got her passport renewed last month to reflect her name change. They took her Marriage Certificate(NBO)at the Passport office. Then my little one only had a copy of the NBO. The Embassy wanted the Original. DAH!!!!!! We had already provided an Original but it was not an NBO and so she had to go to the NBO office to get one again. Then they told her that the Embassy will come by and pick it up. Really? <_< When? The Embassy did not tell her if she was approved or not and she didn't ask. I am getting warmer by the minute.:angry: She said the people there were not nice to her except for this Black man. She spoke with 4 people total. I ask if she got the original documents back and her new passport. She said they are going to mail it to her with the results. <_< I am hoping that the NBO will satisfy the Embassy and we get the approval but time is of the essence now as I have her ticket purchased for Dec 1. I told her to call the NBO Friday at 330 pm to see if the embassy picked our M. Cert Up. Then on Monday I wanted her to call the Embassy to see if they have it and when we can expect the Passport and other documents with our Visa. She said she would do these things. I am the bad guy now for a few day I think.

She said it was not her fault and I said NO it is your fault. You should have gotten another NBO if the one you had was used at the passport place. Why the Philippines have all the NBI, CFO, NBO bull SH** I do not know other then revenue generation and too much fraud. Glad we dont have to go to Washington DC every time we need a document.

    Whew I feel better now.

So in short I dont know if we have a problem or not Houston. I am thinking not but I can not claim approval until I have something stating such. Thanks for letting me rant... :bonk::bonk::bonk: I am hoping that this is all dont soon.. I am starting to feel old............. :(:blink:

that really sucks Tom but at least your wife can still get her visa relatively quick! She's almost there!!!

  3. So my wife got through her immigrant visa interview with no issues. The embassy staff told her she would receive her visa within 10 days. The next day she gets an email stating her visa requires administrative processing and gives zero information. I call the embassy and they can't tell me anything except that it may take days, weeks, or even years to resolve and there is nothing I can do. I've been told this is for a security background check because my wife has my last name which is a very common spanish name. My wife is from a german farm town next to an air force base with proof she has a clean police record in germany. I'm really hating life right now. I hate the state department. We really need less government! All these security checks do nothing to keep us more safe. My wife can come to the US as a tourist without going through this garbage, how does this red tape do anything then?? I'm also in the Air Force and I can't even take leave right now to go see her. The AF is keeping me stuck in the US and the DOS is keeping my wife out of the US.

I wrote my senator.. I hope he can help but I doubt it.

I'm just venting. I wish I could punch something

  4. well the wife just had her interview yesterday. everything worked out great there. They had no problems with the paperwork and didn't ask any off ball questions.

However today she gets an email stating that her visa will require administrative processing. She called the embassy and they stated they could not give her any information or estimate on when the administrative processing would be complete.

    #### THE STATE DEPARTMENT

This is exactly what's wrong with the government.

  5. Just curious if it's so much trouble why don't you just take the driving test again? In most states it is quite easy and you won't have to deal with trying to convince the local DMV to accept your paperwork.

I understand dealing with the DMV is a pain but US driving laws might be different than what you are used to in Nigeria. It wouldn't hurt to take a class or at least read the instructional driving book and take a test.

    Just my opinion.. that's all.

  6. Yeah arcaica for sure. Their system or process needs a major overhaul. I dont however think excessive calling would do anything except give them reasons to hire more staff or adjust the reponse time lines, or give them an excuse for taking as long as they do because they would say ####### like we handle 34189237591834275145 calls a day...haha

true but I don't think the phone operators are reviewing documents while they are talking to you on the phone. :)

  7. I would guess lots of calls to NVC are silly and should not be made but people being what they are just clog down the system. Then those who have reasonable and legitimate issues have to wait because of the frivolous calls. I never called the USCIS and I have only called NVC to speak to a person 3 times. The rests of the time I just went to the AVR system... Some times I think we forget that we are also somewhat responsible for making this process as slow as it is.

I don't know I think the State Department is way behind the times by depending on a phone system. Imagine if they joined the 21st century and paid for an online system where petitioners/beneficiaries could check their status in real time. ELECTRONIC processing..wow they are just beginning to do it and all they do is scan documents???? How about letting petitioners/beneficiaries input their information directly to an NVC online system? They could avoid so many stupid phone calls to the AVR completely and cut down on RFE's when people incorrectly fill out the forms. Also they could use an online chat system or have a prompt email response time. It would provide much better customer service and lower the manning requirements for phone operators. I'm sure a few extra dollars in fees could pay for the whole new setup.

Bottom line the current system is broken, ancient and horribly inefficient. Imagine if any business would operate in the same way? They would be bankrupt in no time.

I say keep calling until they can't take it anymore and are forced to modernize the process.

  8. hi im on new this thread...our documents was received by the NVC last september 21st,so i guess it would take them sometime to process huh?and 2 months more for the interview?i was hoping for an interview before christmas! well I guess i will just keep on praying and hoping... :(

just keep checking! It all depends on if the embassy is backed up from what I understand if you are case complete.

  9. Yeah I should have been so lucky. I am thinking Military or living in German.

With regards to Email letter of Appointment, I would call them this evening or early in the AM and speak to someone. There is still lots of time but I would have though you have it by now. I dont think Mamamimi has hers either. If they told you, you have a scheduled appointment then I dont think you have a problem. Don't worry to much

I thought the list was supposed to be in chronological order.. or so I thought.. LOL

I was expedited through the USCIS for military deployment.

I asked for the same at the NVC but was denied. However I think the embassy at Frankfurt is very efficient which is why my wife's interview is so soon.. must be the German influence.

  10. just wanna ask how's the email version of ds3032..how will i send it to nvc..tnx..

    Here you go:

Congrats. I like your chances for an Nov Interview. They typically will send out letter till the 2nd week of the month so you I think are in unless there were a lot of people waiting for Frankfurt interviews.

Hopefully we all get emails next week with interviews.. I also have a good feeling.
