Just to followup on my previous comment, when I was at my interview, my entire folder was there. I applied for AOS in Michigan, ROC in Alabama and Naturalization in Texas. They had everything. Even I believe I saw the envelope I mailed my applications in! It doesn't look like they throw away anything.
So it takes time to move folders from one district to another...
Thanks. I also moved three times during the entire process (beginning with AOS) so this may be the reason for the delay. Anyway, given that I didn't receive a cancellation notice this time, it was very disappointing to get turned away because they didn't have the file. The office that has my file (according to the officer) is located in the state I moved from. It is at about three and a half hours driving distance, so I can't imagine why it takes this long to send the file. I've been reading the forum for similar stories and some people were delayed for months or even years! I really hope that won't happen in my case though I feel like there isn't much I can do now. Have you heard of anyone withdrawing their current application and sending a new application?

I applied at the end of June and moved at the beginning of September. My first interview date was September 19 at the office based on the address at the time of application. This was then rescheduled for today at my new office. Thanks for your help.

Hello everyone. I'm an N400 June filer. I was scheduled to have the interview this morning at 8 am. However, after I arrived at the USCIS office the officer told me that they cannot interview me today because they didn't receive my file yet from another office. I was told that I will be receiving another appointment letter. It was disappointing (my original interview date had already been rescheduled once because I moved to a different state). Did anyone else have a similar experience? I worry it will be a long wait until I get my next appointment letter. Thanks.

Hi there! Been a while since I posted on VJ
My hubby & I are moving at the end of September so I am starting of a list of places we need to change our address with, including USCIS. I have a few questions though...
-Which form do we use: AR-11 or AR-11SR, I see no difference and no instructions? :/ My husband has his conditional GC at the moment.
-Can we send the form in early BEFORE we move or should we wait to send it in after we move?
-Can we fill this out only online? I read that some people filled it out online and sent in a paper copy whilst others only filled it out online. If we just send a paper copy will this suffice?
-Since we still need to file to remove conditions in Oct 2011 will USCIS send all paperwork to the correct address (the place we're moving to) or our address where we originally filed for AOS (where we are now until September). I'd hate to lose any important paperwork. I plan to set up mail forwarding with the USPS but who knows how reliable that is!

I have some (partial) answers to your questions. We moved twice during our conditional residency period. We filed AR-11 online immediately after we moved and printed the confirmation page for our records. So far, we received all of the documents sent by the USCIS at the correct address. I believe that they send the documents to the address that you give in the I-751 application.

I filled my petition in early january and we moved by the end of february because of my wife job, so i did not include any explanation about that when i filled. I called the customer service 1800 number to explain to them my situation before i filled and they told me that i should be fine as long as i changed my address when i move. We stayed in a temporal apartment when we moved and i changed my address with them. When we bought a house and move into our house, i changed my address again. I did not hear anything for five months before i sent an email to vermont and get my congress man involved and they finally replied to my email and told me that my case has been transfered to their local office in Memphis. You might not get an interview since you already explained to them with prove of offer of employment.
Thanks for your reply. We'll wait and see what happens next. Hopefully something will happen before the six months anniversary of our application, but if not, we'll put in a service request.

Just want to share how my interview went. My wife and i left Knoxville,Tn for a six hours drive to Memphis on sunday. My Interview is on teusday, but we left on sunday so that we could get there and she will have monday to rest, since she is five months pregnant and have a swollen foot.
We arrived at the USCIS office by 7:3oam and my interview appointment was supposed to be by 8:00am,but we were ushered into the room for interview by 7:40am. We spent just three minutes for the interview. The Officer ask for my address, date of birth, mine and my wife drivers licensce and my green card and my wife birth certificate.
The officer explained that they were not supposed to invite us for an interview but we did change of address twice and that was why they invited us and he then asked why we changed addresses twice. I explained to him that my wife job moved us back to Knoxville from Roanoke. He told me that i am approved and that he will hold on to my expired green card. I requested for an I-551 stamp and he gave me a note to get it on my way out.
He told me that my green card should arrive in the mail within two months.

Thanks for sharing your story. I believe our situation is somewhat similar to yours. We also moved twice during our conditional residency period (we moved to a different state because we both changed jobs and then within the state because we bought a new house). We explained briefly in the application why we moved and included job offers letters and documents related to the new house (among other things). I was just wondering whether you explained why you moved in your I 751 application (or did you move after you filed the application)? Just trying to find out whether we should expect an interview. We filed at the end of April, had biometrics done in June, and are still waiting.

Yes, I did submit an address change. They have my new address - my second interview appointment was sent to my new address. I think I'll give it a week or so and then schedule the infopass. Thanks.
