  1. Malvika & MB,Got the finding - http://travel.state..../info_3180.htmlVisa# is allocated and NVC sends DS-3032 to the beneficiary and AOS to the petitioner. If visa# is not available for this category, NVC will hold the case until the visa# is available and then will send the above forms. So, You and MB have NO issues, because your DS-3032 and AOS are already generated  Loto NVC notesIf a visa is available for your petition (or if the Department of State believes that one will be available in the next several months), the NVC will send you, the beneficiary, a Choice of Agent and Address letter containing the form DS-3032 and instructions for completing the form. If you are the beneficiary of an I-130 petition, the NVC will send your petitioner an Affidavit of Support (AOS) Processing Fee Bill Invoice along with instructions for paying the AOS fee. If visas are not available for your visa category, the NVC will notify you that the NVC received your petition and will hold it until a visa becomes available.

NVC visit report from this link: http://www.murthy.com/news/n_natvis.html

It provides insight how NVS processes cases before visa becomes current.

  2. IV packet will be in the NVC mail to the Consulate - 99.999999999999% :star:

To make it 100%, contact Consulate by phone or email, if it is there, 2 to 3 days after they receive NVC package

My IV package was delivered to NVC on 10/21/2010 and case left from NVC on 11/05/2010. IV package was in NVC mail to the Consulate.

    Loto

    Loto,

Nowadays, It takes NVC roughly 2 weeks to process received mail into computers. I think your IV was most likely entered into computers in time.

Hopefully, the barcode on the package does play an important role such that NVC can track document in received-->entered-->reviewed stages.

NVC forwarded HoustonApollo's expedited case to Paris only 8 days after IV was received by NVC. Although we don't know what triggered the consulate to send his case back to the US, it's better not the event that NVC entered his IV after the case was forwarded to the consulate. Maybe the consulate was just lazy processing an incomplete package from NVC.

  3. Congrats on your SIF.   In your case I believe NVC didn't complete their final review. Your embassy will do that. Good luck with Interview.

Congrats IrisCutie on the expedite granting  Next talk to NVC and DOS to get the clear date of case forwarded to the Consulate. Then track it using DHL. As soon as package arrives the Consulate, contact them by email or phone to assign the interview date since it is expedited one.Good luck!Loto

Congratulations on CC :dance:Congratulations on SIF and expedite

Thanks. All the best to you case. Let's keep the spirit up.

  4. Congrats IrisCutie on the expedite granting

    Good luck!

    Loto

    Loto,

Thanks. I saw your case was not forwarded to the consulate immediately after CC. It was probably due to NVC trying to pull your IV package out of mail room or input queue, wasn't it? Did the consulate receive your AOS and IV from NVC or you need to supply another copy to the consulate?

  5. *sigh* it was a real RFE, my husband called and they said we got RFE'd for question 30 only on IV package, and that there must've been a gap or something!..... I assured him everything is right, and he saw for himself,so he called again and they basically had a problem with the date i wrote, i should've written the date i turned 16, till present, not since when i lived there ....... i can't believe this, i'll try to mail my husband a new one tomorrow, hopefully we'd get out of NVC by the end of December :/ :bonk:

    hmmm...

What is considered date gap in DS-230? Is the following considered gap?

    Address1 05-2005 Present

    Address2 01-2001 04-2005

Or it has to be the following

    Address1 05-2005 Present

    Address2 01-2001 05-2005

  6. Hi all,

I just want to share my recent experience.

AVR told me yesterday that "..forms review.. Incomplete or missing...mail sent on 12/2". I talked to the NVC operator this morning and shocked to find that NVC system indicates the petitioner does not want to receive email from NVC because an email was not deliverable. It looks like NVC can type email address incorrectly when sending email although NVC has correct email address in the system. So lesson learned: if either the petitioner or the beneficiary receives email from NVC, call NVC to check if NVC system is still set up to send email to the agent.

I called NVC in the afternoon again. The missing document is DS230 stuff, which has not been entered in the computer. AOS seems reviewed.

We also sent expedite request this Tuesday. The request was forwarded to embassy for approval on 12/2. If embassy says the case has ground to be expedited, NVC will send the package to embassy. It seems I need to follow up with NVC next week for DS230 status and expedite request. The operator also told me that it takes 2 to 3 weeks for documents to be entered into computer.

  7. Hi all,

I want to know what is the best practice to avoid any administration error or typo on NVC case number.

Take USA2010502005 for example, it represents NVC case created on 1/2/2010 for 5th case for consulate USA.

As you can see, there are many zeros and one can make mistake when typing or reading this number. What's your recommendation? USA-2010-502-005?
