On the new I-751 form, in part.3 - info about petitioning spouse there's a separate box for State and Province...I'm confused!
The state is Michigan, do I enter that again under Province?
Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, I have a new baby and am struggling to get my head around immigration forms again :-/

I'm sorry to be yet another person asking this question, but the other threads I've looked at are quite old, and the form has changed since then.
I have a 5 month old baby who being born here is a US citizen, so do I need to put her down on the form? There's a section for A no which she obviously doesn't have, then a box to check that asks if the child is applying with you....
If someone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it!
Have to have my app completed by Mon before we go on vacation, and of course I'm having a last minute procrastinators panic!!
-
That is very cool
Congratulations!!

It is a bit unclear what exactly they want, given that the appointment letter is a generic catch-all notice.
What is absolutely required is the appointment letter, passport/photo ID for both US citizen & spouse, birth certificates and marriage certificate.
But I'm a 'just in case' kinda girl (!) and I pretty much took everything but the kitchen sink LOL
Which consisted of a copy of our entire AOS packet, photos from our wedding, 3 months of my husband's most recent pay stubs, all my medical info and proof of our co-mingling ; joint bank account statements, health insurance etc... phew!
In the end out of all of that stuff, all the IO asked to look at was our wedding photos. We were approved this past Wed, the 9th.
Hope that helps a little

Congrats on your wedding
We sent ours off August 22nd, and we were just approved at our interview this past Wed the 9th.
So roughly 2.5 months
Good luck with the next part..!
Let us know if you have any questions :-)

The main USCIS office in MI is in Detroit, so I would have thought that that's where your interview will be.
I live in west MI, my biometrics was done at an ASC in Grand Rapids, but I have to go to Detroit this Wed for my interview...

Good Luck with your interview, Im sure things will be just fine. Please let us know how you get on. I wish my interview was a little sooner as its 7 weeks away which seems so long, but cant wait until its over at least for 2 years. lol its been quite a journey but the hardest part was waiting for the K1 which im sure we all agree on. Keep the faith,
Thanks Sapphire
I was surprised to say the least to have my interview so soon. When I saw the envelope in the mailbox, I automatically assumed the worst and thought it was an RFE or a problem with my biometrics (they had to take my fingerprints a couple of times) I was shaking like a leaf..! Hopefully it will be fine. I don't have a lot of hard evidence to take to the interview, just really health insurance, joint checking and savings accounts; we've only been married for 3 months..! As well as wedding photos, some snail mail addressed to us both etc. Hoping they will take that into consideration...
I agree, waiting for the K1 was by far the worst part.
Hope everything goes well for you too
Hi Nich Nick. Your info is invaluable as im sure youv'e heard a million times, it was you who advised me to do a cover letter about the DS3025, I have submitted wedding photos and various others from the last 3 and half years of our being together in different locations. I also sent my original Marriage Cert and have 2 more originals at home one of which I will be taking on the day, I think just to cover every aspect I will take copies and where applicable original of what is required from the list on the interview letter. There is no problem with this. Just the medical part, but as I said to my husband no point spending money that we may not need to as im quite confident they must have located this within my envelope submitted at my POE, but you never know they may raise a question to this on the day and if that is the case we shall just need to go to a civil surgeon and get the required document completed. I do have with me my vaccination records from my GP in England so it covers the fact that all immunization were carried out I also had a blood test done at GP's which is recorded on my medical history, a copy of which I have regarding varicella as I had chickenpox as a child so no need for that vaccination.
Thanks again for you help and advice. Will keep my timeline updated and let you know how I get on. :-)
I'd like to second that, thanks again Nich-Nick :-)

Sort of off topic here but this is all good to know for when the time comes. We filed our AOS packet and received our NOA1 on 8/18, had his biometicts on 9/13 and have not heard a peep. No EAD, AP or letter for AOS interview, nothing
Starting to worry a bit cause financially I am struggling and my poor husband is so bored sitting in all the time. God I hope it comes soon, your timelines give me some hope though!

I hope your case starts to move along for you soon
I know exactly what you mean; living on one income can be quite a struggle sometimes. I'm also starting to get pretty bored..! Of course I should have done something productive with all this free time, like take an online course, learn a new language or something, but I haven't. Never thought that I'd be so eager to get out there and work LOL

Does your county clerk state that you both have to be there in person to apply for the marriage license?
In our county (West MI) only one person need apply in person, as long as you have some photo ID from your intending spouse. We were told we would need to apply at least 2 weeks before our wedding date, and did so, but in the end it was ready in only 3 days.
I know that is does vary though from county to county, never mind what state you're in. It feels a bit over-complicated sometimes..!
Unfortunately no, you're K1 visa will not count

I'm in a similar situation to you; I included a copy of my DS3025 with my AOS application, received my notice this past Thurs that my interview is Nov 9th. Took a risk not having the I-693 done, but so far, knock on wood, no RFE.
I've heard, in very rare cases, that they could give you an RFE at the interview, which would really suck!!
I'm not quite sure what to do either...

Hi everyone, hadvmy greencard interview on thu 6th oct and i was approved.
He didnt ask me for any evidence even though i prepared so much.
He told me before we started " this seems like a good day for you " and that was it. I just swore under oath long with my wife and he just asked her how and when we met.
That was it 5 minutes ! He then said you should getbyour greencard within 2 weeks.
Later that evening i got an update from uscis saying my card has been ordered.
Yipeeeee no more paperwork for 2 years
Congratulations!!
I have my interview Nov 9th, hope mine goes as smoothly as yours!

I got my SS card roughly 3 weeks after my entry on my K1 visa. The officer told me that I shouldn't try to change my name until I have my EAD in hand...So I'll just have to wait and see I guess. In Michigan I can't get my drivers' license til I have my EAD as well, or library card, or pretty much anything..! LOL
-
Congrats!
Yup, AP & EAD are one card

Thanks for taking the time guys! :-)

Thanks guys, I think I'm gonna leave the co-sponsor and see how we go...We're not getting married until July 1st, I'm just trying think these things through first, so all I'll be waiting on will be our marriage certificate.
Nice to see you Nich-Nick I've been here for about 3 weeks now, been quite quiet on the vj front; settling in and trying to organise a wedding!

I would really love some advice re whether or not we need a co-sponsor for my AOS application...
Here's our situation: My fiance did not make over 125% poverty line for 2010, he changed jobs and as a result was out of work for a couple of months. It didn't affect my K1 visa as all they wanted in London was the letter from his employer and 3 months of pay stubs, but I'm a bit concerned about it now...
He made approx $34,000 per year during 2008 and 2009, and now has a salary of $35,000 of which we'll be able to provide 8 months of pay stubs...
So basically we're good now, but 2010 is the problem.
So my question is are we going to need a co-sponsor as the most recent tax year earnings weren't enough? Is it something we would get an RFE for or would it not be brought up til the interview..?
I'm planning on including the 3 yrs tax transcripts, employer letter and 8 months of pay stubs to show his current earnings.
Any help, gratefully appreciated as always

Thanks for your replies, helped put my mind at ease
And sorry to take so long to reply, living in the middle of nowhere and don't have internet yet...
Thanks guys

Arrived in the US ten days ago, so happy to finally be here
Slowly getting myself prepared for AOS uurgghh...
The officer at O'Hare stapled my I-94 into my passport, but only the last part which says 'Departure Record' Is that the only part that I need?
She kept the other two parts.
Just wanted to double-check...Seems a bit strange for me to have that part since I'm not planning on going anywhere...!
Thank you

You need the NOA2 for AOS, hopefully he can find it!
My A# on my visa has "A#" in front of the number. Its on the bottom under Annotation right under petitioners name.
Ok, that must be it then...Mine also says 'Annotation' under my name with A then 9 digits.....
So I should be ok to get in the country at least?
Can't believe he's lost it. I did all the research and completed this part of the process on my own, all he had to do was keep a hold of my NOA2!!! Haven't seen each other for 7 months, has put a bit of a dampener of things Don't think I've ever sworn at him before either.
I read on here a while ago that you can get a replacement and it costs a pretty penny. Can't find the thread now...
If anyone could shed some light on this I'd be incredibly grateful.

For my flight to the US on Friday(!) BA want my alien number for Advance Passenger Info.
On my visa it says 'Annotation' then nine numbers starting with A. Is this my alien number?
I'm asking this because at this moment my fiance cannot find my NOA2....Don't even get me started.
Not quite what my stress levels need at this moment in time....
-
I'm moving to the states in 2 weeks and Chicago will be my POE as well. My final destination is Michigan so I've always got my connecting flight there. The queue can be long....I got a flight that gives me a 4 hr layover just in case.
On one occasion I was through immigration in 45 mins, the next time it was nearly 2 hrs, same time of day.
Personally I wouldn't want to risk it, it's not worth the stress...
We might be taken to the secondary area, it all depends on the officer you get.
So exciting though, right?! I can't wait
