  1. Yeah, Juarez won't give vaccinations for K-1 visas. The blank form is useless, and I am not even sure why they bother giving it out. You need to get your vaccinations transcribed to the I-693. Just bring any vaccination records with you. If they are in Spanish, ask the Dr if they need them translated. You only need to fill out part 1, part 2-vaccination section, and part 5. The CS can let you know what vaccinations you still need, and they can give you those and mark them on the I-693 as well. They should give you a copy, and then seal it up for you to send in with your AOS paperwork.

If you have no records at all, you can get blood titer tests that will show which ones you had already and which you still need.

My fiancee does have a vaccination record which is good. How soon do we need to see the CS to submit the paperwork within the 90 days?

  2. This past April, my fiancee had her medical exam in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. The DS-3025 that they returned to us has nothing for the Immunization Record filled out. The information at the top is filled out adequately and its signed and dated by the Panel Physician. There is nothing checked for the Results, including the Vaccination History Incomplete box. Is this normal?

The only thing that is strange is that her visa has a 212(g)(2)(A) blanket waiver. Since this has to do with an incomplete DS-3025 at the time of the interview do we need to complete the I-693 even though the DS-3025 does not say that the vaccination history is incomplete?

In the case that we do not need to submit the I-693, do we still need to submit the DS-3025? How would they know the vaccination history is fine?

  3. I had the same question about going into the consulate in juarez. I've been researching on the internet. There is a cheap hotel called the hotel consulado inn. Then there is a shuttle called amigo shuttle that's goes back and forth from el paso to the consulado in juarez. Also the hotel consulado inn has taxis that will bring you to the conuslate and medical appointments. That hotel is about 10-15 minute walk

My fiancee stayed at Quality Inn and you can literally walk to the consulate in like 5 minutes or less. The area is pretty safe too.

  4. My fiancee went to the medical first thing when she arrived on Monday morning around 7am and got it done without any issues.

As for flights could you book it after the interview is over just to be safe? It is possible that they may want more documents if something goes wrong. Otherwise shouldn't be an issue flying back and receiving the package at your local DHL.

  5. ONE thing I forgot to add in my essay of a consulate review was that I DHL'd some stuff to Juarez. It was my original birth certificate (they'll need that or original passport during the interview- careful cuz they took mine and haven't returned it so don't give em anything you'll need at the border.) and my and my co-sponsor's 134s with original signatures. I wasn't taking any chances either.

To send it I needed the address and phone number of the hotel and they wouldn't let me just send it to the DHL office for pickup like I originally intended. I got it in from CA early on a Thursday and the quickest they could get it there was the following Wed! That was their international "overnight" letter service. It also cost just about $50. It was crazy but I investigated every option and that was all I could do!

Robe did NOT need to be there to receive it luckily, as he was in his medical when it arrived.

They DID accept our scanned copy of the "packet 3" for the medical and interview though Robe said people were being turned away with low quality faxed copies.

Weird. They did not even ask for my birth certificate or I-134 form. They did ask for financial information but without the I-134.

  6. So....my fiancé's packet 3 arrived to his address in Oaxaca and not to my US address (at least yet). He will do his medical exam on Monday, ASC on Tuesday and have his interview on Wednesday. I am worried about doing the ASC and Interview back to back but they couldn't offer them to us with a day between and the man on the phone promised that it would be okay. I hope so......

As a response mailing documents to Juarez, what about scanning and emailing them? I don't think there are any documents that will require a fresh, original copy (correct me if I am wrong). I emailed some pay stubs, the interview letter, and some other financial stuff without any problems at the interview.

Also we did schedule our ASC the day before the interview and we did not have any issues related to that. Apparently there was something in their system that said "missing document" on the day of the interview. The guy on the phone today said the following day it was waivered or cleared. Maybe that was the fingerprints from ASC they were waiting for? Who knows. The guy on the phone did not and we don't. All we know is that our documents are in transit with DHL and we should hopefully get the visa tomorrow!

  7. When they say "packet 3" they are probably just referring to the fiancee forms you can download off the website. Unfortunately they use the same terminology for the letter they mail out.

Don't worry guys. You should get the letter in the mail at the US address.

Juarez just got our petition but they "can't" tell us when they exactly received it. They're also telling me the same thing they told Katwood about the beneficiary being the only one that receives the invitation letter. I hate how they keep giving the same consistently wrong info.

Haha. They can't tell you when they received it? That's weird. Try calling NVC. They should have received it at about the same time that NVC sent it out.

  8. hi maria. i need ur help :(

I have this same problem, how did u get ur Invoice ID number?

    thank u :(

Call the NVC and they will give it to you. Thats what I did.

    hi everyone

I have a question do I need to fill out any of the Affidavit of Support forms for the Inerview

    Thanks for the help!!!!!

Technically you don't have to. But it does make it easy to organize your the financial information you want to present. Just be prepared to be asked for the 2010 tax transcript (or return), pay stubs, and letter from employer. Thats what we were asked for.

  9. DS-260 submitted - Hurray! Fee paid - Yippee!

But, they won't let us schedule the interview until we have packet 3 in our hands. Boo! It was mailed 9 days ago and we want to make the interview for mid-May. We're worried that the slots will fill up for the time that we want to go.

I thought that I read that others had scheduled the interview before packet 3 arrived by mail. Hmmm... Maybe we just got the wrong person.

Usually you can schedule an interview for the following week after receiving the letter in the mail. If you still want to schedule just try not mentioning the letter at all.

  10. Hurray, Packet 3 is in the mail so we are trying to figure out how to fill out the forms (and what forms to fill out) and how to pay the fee and schedule the appointments.

I just read that the DS-260 is for I-130 visas. But K1-ers should fill it out too? Right?

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_5164.html

"Form DS-260, Online Immigrant Visa Application, and Form DS-261, Choice of Address and Agent, will be used by immigrant visa applicants starting October 4, 2010, whose applications meet ALL of the following conditions:

    * The petition was approved in the U.S. and the immigrant case is being processed by the National Visa Center (NVC); and

    * The NVC requested fees and/or documents in October 2010 or later; and

    * Applications are for immigrant family based (Form I-130 petition), employment based (Form I-140 petition), certain special immigrants (Form I-360 petition), and immigrant entrepreneur (Form I-526 petition); and

    * Visa applicants to be interviewed at selected U.S. Embassy/Consulate pilot locations which include:

    o Canada - Montreal

    o Greece - Athens

    o Jordan - Amman

    o Iraq - Baghdad

    o Mexico - Ciudad Juarez

    o Mexico - Mexico City

    o Lima, Peru

While use of the online forms is currently limited to applicants who meet all of the conditions above, these forms will eventually be implemented worldwide" and required for all immigrant visa applications.

    Congrats!

We filled it out mainly because the packet-3 letter says to. As far as scheduling the appointments, paying the MRV fee, etc. it should be pretty straightforward on their site.

  11. On the confirmation page of the DS-260 it says:

    Next Steps

    All applicants must:

    1. Obtain and submit required supporting civil documents.

    2. Obtain and submit photographs that meet the Department of State’s visa requirements.

    3. Review the information specific to U.S. Embassy/Consulate General where your visa interview will occur.

If you have not already collected and submitted the required documents to the National Visa Center then you should do so at this

time. If the documentation you have submitted is either insufficient or incomplete you will be notified by the NVC. Your visa interview

cannot be scheduled until your supporting documentation is complete and correct.

What does this mean? We don't really have to submit anything to NVC do we?

  12. That's great Thaiv! Did you schedule appointment by using website or by phone?

I did it on the website and there were no difficulties. The only weird thing is you schedule the consular interview before seeing the dates of the ASC interview. ASC should go first so you would think that would come up first.

The letter I got was actually mailed from El Paso and they mailed it about a week later after CDJ sent the packet 3. I received it in two days after their postmarked date. In other words I received it in a total of 9 days after CDJ sent the packet 3.

  13. I just called the 7034392313 number and asked if they will send me a copy of Packet 3 in the US and the said "no"! I'm quite worried because my fiance's mail service is very bad. I was counting on it being sent to my US address and DHL-ing it to him for his interview. He will NEVER receive Packet 3 if it is only sent to his Mexican address.

I've seen that others have received a copy in the US. I'm really hoping that the person answering my question was mistaken, though he did go ask his supervisor.

Has anyone else heard that they are no longer sending copies of Packet 3 to the US?????? :-(

Don't worry. The people at the 703# don't know what they are talking about sometimes. I called before and one person said "I never heard of the letter being mailed to the US fiance in the US." But I called yesterday and asked, "what carrier do they use to mail the letter to the US?" The person kind of stumbled at the question and put me on hold and went to ask. He came back and said it was standard US mail. He said I could track the status of the packet to my fiancee in Mexico if I have her passport #. He said it was sent through DHL. I did not have the number on hand at the time, so I called the number again today. The guy said it cannot actually be tracked because it is sent through regular Mexican mail and not DHL. Looks like they need to really get their facts together.

Anyways the same person today said again that each of us will get a copy of the packet 3. In addition I have emailed the US consulate in Juarez through their public inquiry forum a few times and each time they said that it is mailed to both the fiancee in Mexico and the USC. They even explicitly wrote out her and address and mine in the email. They tend to be more reliable and consistent with their answers since they are directly from the consulate. Just remember that the people at the 703# do NOT work at the consulate. Its more of a visa help line for Mexico and the people there are probably just given an overview of the process and only know how to answer basic procedural questions.

I hope this helps you. You should get it in the mail as well. With some people from the 703# telling me this, the consulate consistently saying this, and the recent ones from the forum receiving it in the US, more than likely you will receive it to.

  14. I called the (703)439-2313 as C_Maria suggested because I want to find out if Juarez has received my packet from NVC yet. The recording said that I needed to have the DS-160 confirmation number before talking to a representative. How early can I fill out the DS-160? Do I fill out the DS-160 in addition to the DS-260 or do I do both? How can I find out if my application has made it to Juarez?

    Hurray Thaiv!

I think I remember hearing that as well on the phone. If you go through their menu and get a representative they actually only ask for the confirmation number that begins with CDJ that you should have received from NVC. I may have missed something but I do not even see the DS-160 on the Juarez website for K-1 visas. The DS-160 thing may just be a general form that other visa types have to have. As far as I know you just need to do the DS-260 (please correct me if I am wrong).

So go ahead and call that number and have your CDJ confirmation number on hand. Just as a warning, I would only use this number to know your status. They tend to give wrong information when you ask them specific questions about the visa process. All they know is the overall picture and your current status with them. If you have specific questions go to : http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/public_inquiry_form.html. This will send an email directly to the consulate and they will respond to you with more accurate information. The 703 number is NOT the consulate number. Its basically just a visa help line for Mexico and a lot of the people that work for them do not know what they are talking about.

    Update! We got married yesterday!!  (L) (L) :D :D :D
