Just tracked my ROC package, it got there yesterday.

Hi w8n4u, you do get a new green card when the ROC is approved, and you take the new picture at the biometrics appointment.

My husband received his NOA1 letter by regular mail.

Mailed my ROC package today.

My GC expires in mid October, so I have all my stuff together to mail:

-Got a personal check for $590

-Got the form filled out

-Got my GC photocopied, front and back

-Got a cover sheet listing my relationship evidence

-Got 10 pieces of evidence ranging from Home Assessment with both of our names at the same address, dental insurance bill, copy of recent joint income tax return to our Discover credit card bill

Does I have everything?

Some of my evidence, for example, my dental insurance bill is 2 papers, should I staple them together?

How should I put the whole package of papers together, should I just put a paper clip around it or does it not matter?

How long does this process take after I have mailed in my package, I will be mailing to the Vermotn center? Does my GC get extended by 1 year immediately? Do I have to get fingerprints done again? How long does it normally take to get the 10 year extension?

My Green Card expires in October and I know that I am supposed to file my I-751 three months in advance, so I am ready to do it now. I am going to go on the USCIS website but I also wanted to get some instructions on how to do it and what documents I need. I am hoping that instructions from people who have actually did it combined with the instructions will help do it the right way with no mistakes.

Please provide me with as much info as possible.

Got my Green Card in October, tomorrow marks my first trip back to Toronto since getting my Green Card. What do I need to have with me to get into Canada and back into the United States with no problems?

Just got an email that my GC has been mailed today. Will be checking the mail box everyday. Now I need a job. Which has been so hard. I just applied for 4 jobs in my field, called 3 of them to see if they got my application materials and they told me they each have over 100 applicants. Now I feel even worse that I had to give up a job that was offered to me two months which is the same exact ones I've been applying for. Oh well, just gotta pray that I will be blessed with another one that's even better.

My question is,for those that have recently been approved their Green Card and just got their SSN Card, does your card say on it "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH AUTHORIZATION FROM INS"? Since I will now be a on a Green Card, do I need to go get another SSN card that won't say on it "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH AUTHORIZATION FROM INS" or will I always have that written on my SSN card?

This was by far the easiest step.

The interview was at 10am and we got there at 9:50am after making a stop to get some coffee from Starbucks. Unfortunately, we couldn't bring our coffee in. Anyways, as soon as we got in, we were called in to a room by a lady. I knew it would be a breeze when I made a joke and she started laughing. We sat down, she said she had been looking over our case and she believes that we are married, she also said that we are lucky we got her because she's the nice one. She asked how we met, my wife and I said while we were in school. Come to find out, she is an alum at the same school we both attended. We then talked about the Pittsburgh Steelers, we talked about the weather and how I was looking for a job somewhere with warmer weather. We also talked about Toronto, Canada. She said she loved the city. I asked her what she thought of a potential name for our future first born because she had mentioned that she liked my daughter's name- daughter from another mother. After that she asked the regular questions like, "have you ever committed a crime, etc. We then gave her our folder with bills, lease, insurance, etc. She then explained to us how to file the I-751. She then said I was approved and she is not difficult and not one for stress. She said have a nice day and we said the same.

That was it. It took 15 minutes total.

Hoping to get my Green Card in the mail by the 24th.

Interview is in 8 days. For those who have been approved, I have been getting stuff ready, i.e, bills, pictures, etc. Does the IO take any of these items from you? Should I make two copies of everything that I am taking to the interview incase the IO takes the pictures, bills, and etc?
