  1. Hi I am a filipina like your wife..My fiancee ( now my husband)went to the Philippines during my interview,It adds self confidence to your fiancee during her interview knowing your there, and just incase that she can't answer some question of CO you are there to answer it for her...It also add as an evidence of bona fide relationship..(My interview

    took about 5 minutes before).

And yes fellow VJ"s who give advice to you that it is advisable to buy ticket for her after she got approved. BTW I had my flight from PHil. to USA all by my self..If you both decided that she will have flight her self all she need to do is have self confidence,do not be shame to ask question to airline personnel, and Pray.

  2. I have a little problem. I am communicating with my fiancee for about 2 years. I really want to bring her to USA. I already prepared the K-1 package. I have not sent them because I think there is a problem.

We do not have enough proof of our relationship. We were not thinking about saving emails and stuff like that. I delete my emails as soon that I finish reading them. She does the same. I do not keep too much chat history in yahoo,...etc.

After we found out the requirements back in March, we started to save as much as possible, phone bills, Western-union receipts, yahoo chat, emails etc.

So we only have proof from March onward, and the photos we took when I visted her in the Philippines in June. I took few photos of us, her family, and few friends. And saved all receipts including engagement ring receipt, receipt with her name and my name in the same location, and travel tickets.

Will that be enough or should I forget and not send the K1 and wait a year or so ? :( :(

    :help:

yeah i agree with others VJ's suggestion/opinion.I had been in k1 process/interviewed before and we just showed some pictures together with family and some chat logs and emails/letters..i think they are looking much on how can you support your fiancee once she already here..(the income you have)

Suggestion:It is better if you guys once have interview date you as petitioner come to see and attend the interview together.Thats shows much bona fide relationship and make your interview easy..Thats what i did i and my hubby now went together and just interviewed by CO for just less than 5 min.

Good luck to your visa journey and God bless you

  3. Hey VJ's just want to share you my experienced today, I got my EAD and Welcome letter in mail stating my 1485 application Approved and need to wait 3 weeks to have my green card in hand( i am so surprised thought just got the EAD but I also got this AOS approval9 we file late April so almost 3 months.)My mom in law got these letters in mail box, they( my in laws with my husband ) so happy when i told them i got approved. The funny thing guys was every time i heard the USPS mailman truck to deliver mails/letters I always in hurry to stepped out of the front door.God heard my prayers...and Advance Birthday Gift from him...

To those filers that still have a pending application do not just rely on the website it is sometimes weird..just check my status in some of the application we file is still says Initial review though got one in my hand.( Pray always..that god's guide us all in this journey.

  4. Don't worry.. The online case status is not always accurate.

I have a case that is just like that.

Already got the approval notice and the document I applied for in the mail, but online it still says initial review.

    It happens sometimes..

Thanks for words of assurance..It helped knowing I am not alone with this situation..Lets pray all that our petition goes smooth and we get all approve.

  5. AP = Advanced Parole, right ?

USCIS portal RARELY is accurate, all depends on human entering something - and lets be honest, ah? The Advanced Parole Document just isn't that important, back at USCIS.

AP in HAND? Great ! Congratulations !!!

Yeah got AP in hand...um makes me worried bout my EAD..i hope and prayed one of this days i can have it in mail..Can't helped the agony of waiting..hehheh

  6. I am confused,I got my AP in mail a week ago and checked USCIS account still on Initial review?is this normal? Just wondering because my EAD says that card production ordered july 14, and need to wait within 3o days..still waiting and make me nervous to think USCIS might make mistake..(To think that I got my AP now knowing it still Initial review and EAd card production but still not in hand)..hope to hear back from anybody who experienced same situation i have.

  7. hi treefrog,my daughter was born in the Philippines and yes she is automatically dual citizen. But if your child was born here in the US,you have to report the birth of your child to your Philippine Consulate but the filipina mother need to be filipino citizen at the time of birth,If she been naturalized to became US citizen, your wife needs to do the dual citizenship for her and she can include the child's name on her dual citizenship application so the child will become dual citizenship as well.Check your Philippine Consulate website about dual citizenship,it is written there.

Thank you so much..YOur information help a lot.God bless u and more blessings to come

  8. I did self-review with good nursing textbooks purchased at Barnes and Nobles. If they're too pricey, I would drop by the store every weekend and answer 200 Q&A's in the store. We paid $200 for testing fee and couple of bucks for test application. I didn't took any CGFNS nor TOEFL exams since the state that I registered for didn't require it. Each state BON's have different pre-requisites. I applied for Vermont BON first since it was quicker and less requirements, then when I passed, I had my license endorsed to Pennsylvania. I was required to have a Credential Evaluation done by the CGFNS to qualify for license endorsement which costs about $500. Good Luck on your upcoming NCLEX exam!

    Cez =D

Thank you so much for your informative reply.I appreciated it much.good luck and god bless u more..

  9. Hello, Treefrog. Glad you're there in the US to be with your man :-) My fiance is also a Filipino nurse, but he's an american citizen. So do I really need to take the CGFNS and IELTS if I will already hold a K1 visa? Have you looked into this? As for my review center, it's main office is close to UST :-) I doubt it that you were my student before because I've been teaching for almost a year only.

yes I'm already here and happily married. As far as your concern about IELTS/ CGFNS I am sorry to say but i can't provide you any answer for that, But the best thing for you to do is to contact the state board of nursing here in USA that you wish to apply to take your nclex exam if IELTS/ CGFNS is required.

In my case i haven't take IELTS/ CGFNS yet but planning to take NCLEX soon once everything turns alright.

Looking forward for you to be here in state soon.

  10. Hello,

I don't know the answer to the question about the dual citizenship for the babies but I did just register / report our marriage to Philippines through the consulate. Even though I live in CA we were married in Hawaii. From what I understood because we were married in the state of Hawaii we should report it to that consulate. I just mailed it the other day.

The reason I mailed it is I wanted my wife's NSO record to be updated in Philippines and also I was thinking if she wanted a renewed passport in the future from RP she could have it changed to her married name since it already was on record now.

I also emailed the Hawaii consulate some questions and they did reply before we mailed.

Here's what we were told to send.

    II. Report of Marriage requirements

1.Duly accomplished Report of Marriage form (in quadruplicate) (Notarized)

2.Original marriage certificate certificate and three (3) photocopies

3.Four (4) photopies of passports of both parties

4.Four (4) 2x2 photos each of both parties

    5.$25 Report of Marriage fee

postal money order, or bank draft addressed to the Philippine Consulate General

You should check the consulate's website you plan to report to if they have any other requirement. This one told me they will mail us back a signed record 3-4 days after they have our paperwork.

thank you so much for reply...more blessing to come

  11. Thanks for your reply!

@Spelad: I am not attending a review class for my nclex. I am also a lecturer in a nursing school and in a review center, so I find myself confident to review by myself (PLUS: attending a review class costs a lot of money!!!) :-) I took a 2.5-week leave of absence from work, which starts tomorrow, so I can prepare formally for my exam. Still have the jitters when I think about it :-D I might need more time to review. I am scheduled on Aug. 5, but I might have to move it to a later date based on my self-evaluation by the end of my review :-p Good thing they don't charge for change of test schedule!

@Boingboing: I am more inclined towards taking both CGFNS and IELTS after my NCLEX in August. At least, by the time I get there, I will have all the certifications and no longer need to study for an exam, so I can enjoy my new status as a wife. LOL!

    Thanks again!

hi kabayan..Im a RN in phil, and now here in USA entered with K1 visa. Since you said that you are a nurse lecturer would you mind ( with your permission)to let me/us know which nursing review center your working in phil. Even just provide acronym of review center for confidentiality reason...I am proud to say that I passed and became Ph RN through the hardship, words of encouragements and sharing experience from our lecturer, support from families and above all prayers.

  12. An American got scammed by a Filipino homosexual. Poor guy didn't know that he's sending money to someone he thought was a lady.

hi I have read that your wife fortunately passed the RN nCLEX exam,I am a RN nurse in the Philippines and planning to take Nclex exam here in Arkansas.Did your wife undergo such nursing review lesson? or just have nursing books that been reviewed by herself? how much did you pay to take her nclex exam? what about CGFNS/ IELTS/ TOFEL exam?did she take any of this text aside from NCLEx prior to working as US-RN?

  13. Hi to all pinay's...I am newbie to post a msgs in here.Have just few question to all Filipina who are married here in USA to american man.

    >>Recently I have read to Phil.consulate website about Register of Marriage Contracted Abroad. DOes it Required?have anybody in here done it?and how? By the way i came here with a K1 visa and now got married.

I am also concern about dual citizenship for a baby?It says that Dual citizenship are automatically granted with proper filing to phil.consulate for those child born with parent/s provided that his/her one of parents is filipino citizen at the time of birth

    >>>My question is, What about those former filipina citizen who gave birth AFTER they granted foreign citizenship through naturalization. .What did you all do in order to have your child a Dual citizenship???

Any information that you can share will be appreciated much.

    Mabuhay Pilipinas.!!!!1

  14. This might be of help to those who are renewing their Philippine passport (now called e-passport) and applying for dual citizenship for their children.

Just some new things on renewal of Philippine passport..

    - passport is now called e-passport since it will be machine-readable instead of hand-written ones which are now obsolete in most countries

    - personal appearance is now a requirement

    - no passport photo is needed because picture will be captured on application together with fingerprints

    - if newly married and name needs to be changed, you'll need to submit Report of Marriage first before applying for passport. Requirements for Report of Marriage can be found in this link http://www.philippineconsulatela.org/consular%20services/conserv-registry.htm#Procedures_and_Requirements_for_Reporting_a_Marriage_Contracted_Outside_the_Philippines

On Dual Citizenship for our little one, we decided to get it so that even if we stay longer in the Phils, there will be no need to get her a visa and do additional paperworks. In the future, if our kid decides to study or conduct business in the Phils, she can move around like an ordinary Filipino citizen without giving up her American citizenship. What you'll need to do..

    - submit Report of Birth (requirements are in this link http://www.philippineconsulatela.org/consular%20services/conserv-registry.htm#Reporting_Births_of_Children_of_Filipino_Citizens)

    - apply for Philippine passport (REport of Birth is an additional requirement to apply)

In US, dual citizenship isn't encouraged as matter of policy (based on that article given me in another post I made) but in Phils it is recognized and most beneficial in my opinion. It's like enjoying both worlds at the same time.

    TO JIL AND JOY...

Does it REQUIRED that it is need to Register your Marriage at nearest Phil.consulate?

  15. Hi to all VJ's I am newbie poster to this site though I always read topics since my visa journey began (K1)I need some advice, help or information about some concerns i have regarding :

1.REGISTERING MARRIAGE CONTRACTED Abroad (especially those pinay kababayan""Filipino's who married american citizen here in US through K1 visa)there was a site that say's marriage abroad should be register at your designated Phil.Consulate(I residing in Arkansas which is jurisdiction by Phil.Consulate Chicago)Is this is True? just want to make it validate so i know what appropriate action to be done.

2.Want to ask those former filipino citizens who have their babies at the time they became US citizen through Naturalization) Did you also file for REGISTER of BIRTH at Ph consulate?. Does it mean being a former filipino (naturalize foreign citizen. and giving birth here in USA )gives your baby automatically Dual citizenship( Fil-AM) or did you file and fill up application and went through legal procedures.?

Hope to hear back any information, and it would be helpful and appreciated much....thanks a lot and god bless u all.
