im learning Turkish from Hulya and she is getting really good at english. We are watching movies now with no sub titles. So, its going really well.

Really snowy and cold here. Wanting spring to come soon.

    Regards,

    Clay

    It's Sunday, Jan 16th.

For the first time in mos. I got right thru to K's fone!!! :star: SIGNAL CLEAR!!!! :star: Wow we were both so happy! :luv::yes:

Anyway, I was telling him about name changes after marriage and how I wanted to add his name to my already lengthy name. I then asked him for practice, "What will be the name of your wife?" LOL He tells me but he always mixes up my two middle names! Everytime, he does this. So I gently correct him and then I hear him say,

"Bu kız beni şimdi kafa karıştırıcı! "

which means if my translation is correct:

" ... this girl is confusing me now!"

Gosh I miss him an awful lot. What a great day to of heard his voice!

    Happy Sunday Everyone!

    Mariye

  2. (L) OK Nihal,and ladies! (L)

Let's read the Member's status postings that get happy because they got to talk with their Darling, or the ones that are on their way to visit for a week , how about the ones that finally get signal and can talk to their Askim for 3 mins just to hear their voice, look at the joy at the newbies getting NOA1's. And of course, the ones that pass interview. Remain positive; don't look at the numbers.... LOOK WE HAVE CLAY and HULYA! She's here! In fact, go and read Clay's post when he found out she was on her way to the States. This gives me hope.:innocent: Continue to pray for one another and be grateful we have a beloved; some are still looking for theirs and I bet you they'd love to be in our shoes. We have that loving committed relationship they seek even if we are apart from them TEMPORARILY. This too shall pass.

If I look at how low the numbers are, I'll start to get weepy. Look up and let's stick together and keep very good attitude ok? We're AmeriTurks, let's stay strong.

    WE CAN DO THIS!

Maybe we should take a little Las Vegas trip in the spring before all our Askims get here! You know, just to check out the chapels and the shows! Wha'd ya think? LOL LOL LOL

    Seni Cok Seviyorum Arkadaslarimla :luv:

  3. Congratulations Clay,

I am so Happy for the two of you... can you tell me when you filed the application... I am trying to follow the interview schedule on the Embassies Website for Ankara...

When is your Hunny coming to the the USA? Keep all of us informed here of your wedding and progress through this trying Journey! :hehe:

Posted this again as it looks as if it was part of your previous post!

Actually the passport arrived yesterday so it took 3 days for Hulya to receive it.

I will get the actual file date and post it here. But i can say we got delayed maybe three weeks becuase christmas holiday fell in our time. So we had a Jan 5th interview date.

The good news is we got the visa and we appreciate all the good wishes .

For all of you waiting now. Take comfort in knowing you will get the visa. Remember, have the documents ready and have them correct. Have the proof ready. Give them all the proof you can. In the end it will work out. We were nervous and had a lot of proof and i guess we should have been more relaxed but you all know how hard it is when you love some one so much and want to be with them.

Best Regards to you all and future success in 2011.

    Clay and Hulya

  4. All, i hope this inspires all of you to keep the faith and keep your will and confidence. Below is our story of my fiance going to Anakara on Jan 5th for the visa interview.

    Hi,

Hulya didnt go to early for the medical exam( 2.5 weeks early) and after a few days she received the results. The day of the interview she went early around 7:30- and waited and at 8:30 they went inside.

She soon was told her passport style photo would not work( they could not see her ear good) , she was starting to freek and then was told she could go nearby and have a new photo made. She did go fast and took a new photo. I can imagine the stress she was under at that point. I can say she thought it was over when they said the photo was not usable . she was thinking she would need to reschedule and come to Ankara at a later time. Wow that was an awfull feeling i am sure.

As it turned out after she got the new photo Hulya was lucky. Her interviewer was a nice guy. He didnt make to hard on her. He could also see we had a strong relationship and that i had been there a lot. we were engaged in Istanbul and we had a lot of proof.

After the interview Hulya called me here in Ohio at 3:00 ish and she was crying and my heart sank. But , i soon learned she was crying for happiness she got the visa.

In the end its all about the good documents and the proof. If you have all the docs correct and the proof it will help you to be confident for the interview. That is what gave Hulya and i strength. We knew we were real and we had a lot of proof. So, be prepared in advance and dont stress to much ok . The process is long and keep LOVING each other and it will work out.

Hulya and i wish you the very best and if you need any help with questions let me know. i wil do my best to answer as soon as i can. Good luck to all of you.

    Best Regards,

    Clay and Hulya

  8. All,

good news we have our interview date set for Jan 5th. We are hopefull we will get the visa .

Questions: i have been looking at flights from Istanbul connecting at JFK . I live near Cincinnati but i want to book a flight for my fiance that allows her time to clear customs as easily as possible and allow a window of time to make connections for her next flight to Cincinnati.

anyone have experience with the customs at JFK? I can book flights to Atlanta also or other cities if they are better. How long does it usually take to clear customs when entering with a fiance visa and filling a I-94?

    Thanks

    CB

  9. Please ,do not be discouraged . I know that it's hard , especially when you are just trying to be with the one you love . That's all any of us are trying to do. It's okay. We are all learning . Our first case was denied too . It was extremely frustrating . But without faith and patience ... need I say more? Take a deep breath and simply start over ,placing all proof / suporting documents together (nice and neat) .Everything will work out .Godwilling.Ok! Peace from msnino/ninotisha

This really helps me. thanks you so much!!!!

  10. I did EXACTLY the same thing and it was denied because i didnt send in the backup. When i applied the first time i wasnt sure so i called USCIS and the person on the phone told me it was ok to send if they need anything they will send me an RFE.

The people you call know nothing. They read from a script and if they dont know the answer they say what they think but they are not the ones processing your paperwork. After reading around i found that they dont have to deny your case and yes they can send you an RFE but most likely they will deny you.

I got denied on June 28th and refiled on July 23rd of this year and I am currently waiting for my NOA2. Dont even bother with an appeal its pointless more time and money than just refiling with all the correct paperwork.

If you call your congress man they can assist you for free if you go into their office with the completed packet, they will look it over for yout to tell you if you are missing anything and then you can send it.

My congressman is rep Meeks and he has someone in his office that takes care of immigration.

That is good advise , I agree , we have had a similar bad experience. Now looking forward to better days. Thank you

  11. Basically, you are looking at starting over. If you had followed the guidelines on VJ to the letter, this would not have happened. Always send all documentation in with the original application and appropriate fees. If you receive a Request for Evidence (RFE) then respond as quickly and completely as possible. Using an attorney will not speed it up, but if it is a very competent immigration lawyer, then the documents will all be organized when the application is sent in. Filing an appeal in most cases will not improve your time line.

If you had any idea about the amount of documents the USCIS receives every day, you would understand that the logistics of their system is considerably difficult. They use bar codes to scan each file when it changes hands, so they know who was the last person with the file.

Kathryn41 is right on about the 800 number. These people answering the phone haven't got a clue what is going on. They basically look at your case file number and read what is on the web site.

For anyone else preparing their application, study this carefully. Do not file anything until you have provided all the kinds of documents, evidence, etc. that is requested. Make sure you have a complete copy of everything that you send. If you receive an RFE, respond quickly and completely. And mostly wait for the time to pass. :bonk: :bonk:

You have it right on all accounts. We will start over and all docs will be with the original application. Now waiting on the letter form USCIS. Then reapplying. Thank you to everyone for the advise on this matter. I hope in 4-5 months i can report back with good results.

    Regards,

    CB

  12. Okay so I take it this wasn't the reason for your denial then. Definitely find out their reasoning first before doing anything. Was it an immediate denial or was there a RFE first? Can you fill out a timeline so we can see what's been done so far?

    I recieved the I797 May 26th

I sent the inofrmation apcket in laeter than the original application at the instruction of UScis

I sent it in approx 30 days ago with our recepit number and by priority mail so i know it was recieved by USCIS.

On Sept 2nd there was notification online i was denied.

I called USCIS and spoke a a ldy there and she said to file a motion once i received the denial letter.

I can only assume no that USCIS did not match up my documents to my application. I sent a very detailed file .

Does anyone know about the motion process? Time line?

    thank you

  13. Are you saying that you sent in just the one form and then later sent in the completed package?

I know that you're anxious to get married but unfortunately the process takes a lot longer than 2 months to be completed. :(

Lawyers do not speed up the process, they only help to sort out issues if you have a difficult case.

I received my I797 on MAY 26TH. We have been waitng and i did send the packet in later than the original application . I asked Uscis about his before i did it this way and they said its ok to send the packet later bacuase the processing times are so long.

    Thank you

  14. All,

i received my I797 on May 26th, yesterday received a denied notice online. I called USCIS and they said i will get a letter and can file a motion to reopen my case.

After i applied for the I129 F i mailed a completed packet to USCIS with all documents required. I was not able to send the documents when i applied.

I did this because i was told by USCIS that it may take 4-5 months and i would have time to compile my file and then send it in.

I will get a letter soon explaining what the problem is. I was also instructed by USCIS yesterday to use the info pass and see officer in person to discuss my case.

    Questions:

    1. By filing a motion will USICS reopen my case and will i not lose a lot of time or will it take a lot longer ?

    2. Can i assume USCIS will keep all the documentation i sent in and reuse it or will i need to redo all my docs and resubmit them again with the motion.

    3. Should the info pass meeting help ? I will take all docs with me and supporting proof . I have a lot of proof.

    4. Should i get an attorney to represent me? My fiance and i were engaged last month and we were hopefull we would have an approval this month . Now we have a problem and its stressing us a lot. Is an attorney worth using to cure any problem faster ? To me money is no object if the attorney can get faster results.

Do attorneys get better/faster service at USCIS than i would?

Thank you for your ideas .

    CB

  15. All,

my first post and i hope in the right area.

My fiance is asking me a lot of questions about documents what she will need when she enters in the USA . We will marry soon after she arrives .

For example what are the steps and what documents will she need to bring with her to the USA to make the process smooth???

She is living in Istanbul now and we want to make sure she brings everything when she comes.

Thanks in advance for any help.
