  1. I don't think it's an error.

Check out the example cards for "Test Void Specimen"

    Given name: Test V

I think it's SUPPOSED to be First name space middle initial.

Thanks Nik+Heather. I found that sample after I had posted and agree with you. I double (triple?)-checked my husband's card (front & back) and it appears just as the example does.

  2. The relief of receiving my husband's green card was huge. But now having looked at it again, the given name on the green card is listed as 'First Name <space> First initial of Middle Name" which is not how his name is listed anywhere else (not on previous 2 year green card, not on passport, etc..)

Just wondering if anyone else had encountered anything like this before. Is it necessary to send in for a replacement card? At least the middle initial is in fact the correct initial...

Thanks in advance for your thoughts/opinions.

  3. Tried for an early bio this morning in Boston, but were told they were too busy. So we'll head to Rhode Island on Friday for our actual appointment. I was really hoping we could get this done today as both my husband and I work a 10 minute walk from the Boston ASC and now he'll have to take a day off work to drive to Rhode Island, but at least this unnecessarily painful part of the process will be complete soon :)

  4. My husband and I tried for a walk-in bio appointment this morning in Boston although our actual appointment is this Friday in Rhode Island and were told they were too busy. Unfortunate as it means a day off work to drive to Rhode Island and we work 10 minutes from the ASC in Boston. There were other people ahead of us who seemed to be trying for early appointments and were told to sit and they would try to be seen - I assume they were assigned the Boston ASC which meant they had a better chance than us. Oh well, at least we tried.

  5. According to the website, our ASC is Providence, RI. However, Boston is actually closer for us and when we phoned USCIS on the 7th of July we asked if it would be a problem to go into the Boston office for Biometrics and the IO said it would be fine. I don't know if that's actually the case or not, but we'll definitely try for an early walk-in at the Boston location when we do finally get the bio letter. Especially since that would be a 15 minute walk from our offices rather than a 2 hour drive to RI.

  6. Hi,

This site has been incredibly helpful during this process. We're among the 'lucky' ones who sent their I-175 in the latter part of May and are still waiting for a biometrics appointment.

I-175 mailed to VSC: May 24

    NOA1: May 26

Contacted USCIS re: missing biometrics letter: July 7

Response from VSC that the ASC is backlogged): July 8

We're away for 10 days the end of this month so hopefully will have the appointment letter before that...
