  1. Guys,

I need some help. I am the petitioner, American citizen in Jeddah. On the US Jeddah Consulate website, it mentions i need the following to request a police letter:

    1. Case number

    2. Show proof of legal status in the Kingdom

    3. A letter from NVC requesting a police clearance letter

Point # 3: I spoke to NVC 3 times and they ppl there said we do not send out requests asking for a police letter. Just take your case number and that should be fine.

Can anyone here help me regarding this matter? What did you all do for point # 3?

    Thank you very much!

  2. First off,

I would like to thank all those who are helping out everyone else including myself, much appreciated. Secondly, the US Consulate in Jeddah has asked that in order to process a request for the police clearance report, the NVC needs to send a letter requesting that information. I spoke to 3 ladies and below are the responses:

    Lady # 1:

After telling her the above information, she puts places me on hold and comes back and says, "i will e-mail you that request so you can furnish it to the US Consulate." I thanked her and hung up

(after 45 min, i had a fishy feeling and called back)

    Lady # 2

After repeating the above yet again, the lady instructed me to fill out the DS-260, which was done and mail in the civil document, photographs, etc minus the police letter. We will review the package and request for a letter. I clearly stated we have to also send in the police letter translated and attested with the package, but she simply said no and to carry out the instructions.

(after 30 min, i was itching my head and needed to call back, 3rd times a charm, right?)

    Lady # 3

This time i simply asked that i need a letter requesting a police clearance to submit to the local US Consulate. She said, the NVC does not send out requests, but we will update your status in 1 to 2 weeks. That status update should suffice requesting a police letter from the US Consulate. She went onto say, you can also send in the civil documents, photographs etc. and when once we review it, the NVC will send out a checklist stating what you have and what item/s you need and if there is no police report, there will be a X indicating missing police report and that particular check-list should be printed and can be used to show the applicant requires a police report request.

So in a nutshell and based on your knowledge, what is the best course of action i should take since all of this sounds confusing and might i add, frustrating?

Thank you all for your time and help!!!!!

  3. Hello you fine folks out there!

I needed some help and guidance. I am a US citizen who applied for the spouse visa. I have purposely delayed my trip to America because of work. I started the process in 2011 and since then I have been doing tid bits of work on the process. Currently, I will be sending off the I-864EZ to North Hampshire with all the relevant documents in a few days. My questions is, in the interim can I apply for a DCF i.e. start the process over and since I meet the legal residency requirement for the Kingdom, I should not have a problem?

Also, if I decide not to go the DCF route, what are the chances my wife can get a vistior's visa until the I-864EZ is approved?

I appreciate any help and guidance. Mucho Gracias!!

  4. Hello you all!

I have a situation in which i have no clue what to do. If someone can guide me or help me out, that would be appreciated. I am a US citizen in Saudi Arabia. I have filed for my wife's I-130 which came back approved and i am currently working on the payment for the visa center online. In addition, my wife will be expecting in a month.

Situation: As i am the US citizen, how can i start my daughter's paperwork (its a girl):) and get her passoport or visa etc.? We are expecting the visa for my wife to come in by April or May, so when we travel to the US for her 1st time entry, how can i get our daugther to travel with us.

Solution: (been scracthing my head for a long time)

I appreciate all of your help in this matter and best of luck out!

    U.M.

  5. Hello everyone who reads this post:)

Quick question. I would appreciate if someone can help out!

Dilemma:I live in Saudi Arabia. I am filing for my wife's petition. I am sending my I-130 package off via Fed Ex to:

    USCIS

    Attn: I-130

    131 South Dearborn 3rd Floor

    Chicago, IL 60603

Problem: No body is home at my house to take my mail, so i wont know the progress of the i-130 petition. I wont have any idea what correspondance is being sent home while I am sitting here in Saudi.

Solution: Can I send a letter along with the i-130 package explaining my situation and request any correspondance be sent to my brother's Chicago address. Or should i fill out a i-865 Sponsor's Change of address and input my brother's Chicago address?

If you guys have come across this or have knowledge of what I can do. I would appreciate your valuable input on this matter. Thank you guys once again and good luck!!!!

  6. This is what has transpired since I have last posted.

I contacted the nearest USCIS office, which is in Jordan. This guy was super duper nice. I explained to him the situation and heard all my complaints. Finally, he instructed me to go ahead and send off my I-130 to the proper address and he said call USCIS to get the correct mailing address.

Few Hours later: In the meantime, i was waiting for USCIS office in the US to open since we are 8 hours ahead. I had e-mailed the Riyadh Embassy explaning in details how i was treated like a 3rd class citizen.

An hour later: Waiting for the USCIS office to open in the States, I retire to my room and check my e-mail. Hooray, i get an e-mail from the Riyadh Visa section asking me to furnish my mobile number to discuss the matter.

30 min ago: I call USCIS and the person In the Jordan USCIS office was correct. The lady at the USA USCIS office said I can apply to the following address

    USCIS

    P.O. Box 804625

    Chicagom IL

    60680-4107

Since nobody is at the house in Houston, I wont be able to check if anything comes in or not. So the kind lady said you can type a letter to the immigration officer explaining you are in the Kingdom and wish to have all further mail regarding your wife's immigration forwarded to your brother or cousin since no body is at the resident in Houston. I will have to furnish some goverment ID with my address in Houston ( a valid driver license will suffice).

And she gave me advise that i should lodge a complaint against this lady for not even providing any type of help, which I very much plan to do.

    Now: Finished typing this:)

  7. :crying:so my story goes: I came back from Houston, TX in July 2010 and attempted to file my wife's I-130 visa. The agent at teh Jeddah, Saudi Arabia consulate said everything is fine, but you need to have latest 6 months of continued residency.

6 months later: I went back and guess what. The lady was soo damn rude and she rejected taking my application because I am on a business visa, not a work permit or resdential permit. I have a business visa for 5 years and when I visited the consulate in July 2010, they never objected. The result, I walked out of the consulate pissed off!

Problem: I am living with my wife in Saudi Arabia. I need to file my I-130 asap, but my question is can I send the package off to the Chicago Lock Box office or is there another way around it. I checked on the instrucitons that the Petitioner living oversees has to contact the US consulate or embassy to submitt the I-130.

Solution:That is where i need help from you all! Any help would greatly be appreciated. And God bless you all! And those who are struggling out there, I hope God helps you to the finish line. AMEEN!

    Thank you!!!!!
