  1. Okay, I see I have the same problem as CharlesReco.

I'm one of the first Vermont filers. I called one week ago to get my updated receipt number, as my biometrics was current, therefore no biometrics letter and receipt number came in the mail before. I didn't really feel the need to get it earlier, since it would've said "Initial Review" anyways. I also called to update my address because we had moved to a new house.

So, I got the number and checked my case. It said "Initial Review." I received a letter at my new address from the USCIS on Friday stating:

On 10/1/2014 you contacted us about your case. Some of the key information given to us at that time was the following:

Type of service requested: Change of Address.

Then at the bottom of the letter:

The status of this service request is:

After careful review of your request, it has been determined that your issues will be best addressed by the USCIS office having jurisdiction over your case. Therefore, we have taken the liberty of forwarding your service request to California Service Center. If you require additional assistance, forms and/or filing instructions, we invite you to visit our website etc. etc....

I'm going to call them to find out whether I am correct in assuming that my case has been transferred to California, and perhaps that is why I can no longer check my case status online. It just says that they can not provide any info, and that I should call them.

    Just an update!

  2. I was wondering, of all those people who have been told that their biometrics are not required, have any of them left and come back into the country in the past year? They do biometrics upon re-entry, could they be using these? Just a thought.

I left for 2 months at the beginning of 2013 and came back. Now that I think about it, I do recall the officer taking my fingerprints when I got back.

  3. DaleWonju, did you give you your case number?

I still find it crazy they won't refund us, AND that we have to ask what's going on. They could just send automatically a quick email saying biometrics is not needed, with our case number. Seriously, I would not care about the biometrics fee if at least you would do that.

They did send an email saying biometrics is not needed. They did not give me my case number in the email. I suppose I'll have to call and ask them for it. :( I'm not concerned about the money either, but information would definitely be appreciated.

  4. I put in a service request for my Biometrics notice yesterday, since 30 days has passed since filing.

The status of this service request is:

A review of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records indicates that your biometric information is current, and it is not necessary for you to appear at an Application Support Center (ASC) for a biometrics appointment at this time. The biometrics fee will not be refunded. USCIS will contact you if updated biometric information or any other additional information is needed to process your petition.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

    Alright then!

  5. I messed up big time and didn't send a list with our previous address and dates we stayed there. And the fact that I'm a housewife and never contributed any money, not on car title (it's his old car - paid off), truck title (I didn't have any credit at the time and I don't work here yet), nor have we any children...I guess I'm waiting on an RFE now. I feel some kind of way.

  6. the fee for the 1-129f is 340.00 all the 1-129f goes to texas,to be sorted then goes to other service centers, the mailing instructions in side the 1-129f form.

    Thanks~!

IF your case will be sent by the US Postal Service then you can use the USCIS's Dallas, TX 75266 address since they have access to their P.O. Box.

IF your case will be sent by FEDEX, UPS etc then you will send your case to the Lewisville, TX 75067 address.

    The fee is $340.00

    Thanks!

  7. You can delay the paperwork if you like. OR, you can still file. The visa is good for 6 months after it is issued. I'd file now, processing through USCIS is taking 3 - 6 months at the moment, plus an interview wait. So if you file now, you will be able to be with him when he returns in October.

Alternatively, you could file now, request an expedite due to imminent military deploymnent (not sure if there is enough time) and be there by October - hopefully.

    Good luck

Thanks for your response :) I'm in South Korea right now...where the wait for the interview really doesn't take long at all. Perhaps a month at the MOST. I just wanted to know If I could request a LONGER wait for an interview. If I file now and by chance everything goes really quickly I'd like to wait so that I get there just as he gets back. I don't know how long the petition is valid for once it gets to the US Embassy in Seoul.

  8. We planned to send in the I129-F application now (September) but he just heard that he is being deployed from October this year to October 2011. I don't really want to go through the whole process of getting the paperwork together again...So could we just apply and delay the interview at the embassy for a couple of months? Does anyone know if this is possible? The last time we saw each other was July this year.

Any help would be appreciated :)

    Thanks, D.

  9. Yep, everyone here is spot on. My fiance is from SA and we met in Uganda, then we traveled to Malawi and that is where we have been dealing with the embassy and our petition is being sent. The hard part for us has been getting the Police report from SA, no one answers the phones numbers at the Police Station in Pretoria. We had a friend send it in for us and they are trying to help but, so far not so good. Especially since we sent it during the World Cup. So, I would definately send tht in as early as possible. They say 21 days till you get it back but we are way past that now and nothing heard. Don't know if you have been back to SA lately but, supposedly its getting pretty bad there as far as the race thing. That's what we've heard anyway and Brenda hasn't been back there for a year now. So, good luck and hope this helps!

Thanks! It does. I used an agent in South Africa that can get it approved within two weeks so I have my PCC. I'm most freaked out about this petition. My fiance is in the States and terrible with paperwork...So I'm trying to do most of it and then send it to him in a more complete state. I've been reading some scary posts about people

    that got denied :(

If you guys need my agents contact details let me know? Good luck to you too!

  10. I've been teaching in South Korea for the last 5 years. I'm a South African citizen that met my future husband in South Korea. I can go through the process at the US Embassy South Korea whilst still living here right? I don't have to go back to South Africa for this do I?

This may be a silly question, but better safe than sorry :) I appreciate any assistance :) Thank you!
