  1. I got the K1 visa but because the process was too long, I decided to stay in Canada. I just have a baby and there are lot of benefits for the baby in canada than in US not to mention the free healthcare in Canada and the economic crisis of US. Im just wondering if i can still travel to US when my passport have the K1 visa in it. I have a visitors visa for US valid for 10yrs because im not yet a citizen of canada. should i wait for the expiration of the visa before going to US?

  2. Im a permanent resident of Canada and I never know that I need Cenomar but its a requirement in the Philippines so during the interview they asked for Cenomar. I dont know but Montreal seem to be the slowest embassy, its a long wait to get the interview then now another long wait for the document to come back but the people there are super nice. the person who interviewed me was nice. Im not in a hurry bcos we are doing CRBA for my baby but the thought that maybe my passport got lost is what i worry about.they could have send a small note saying they receive the documents and they are working on it,that would be great so i dont have to worry.

  3. I had my interview in Montreal last March 2011 and was asked to provide additional document specifically the Cenomar or Certificate of No Marriage from my country. I sent it together with my passport on April and Im still waiting. I wonder if someone have the same case like mine. Its been a year since we applied for K1 visa and the waiting period is so frustrating. I have my baby born in Canada which is the only plus on this waiting period, well she can have dual citizenship. I dont know how long should I have to wait.

  4. I had my interview in Montreal last March 2011, they asked me to provide additional documents, the Cenomar, from my country since im not a canadian citizen. I sent the Cenomar together with my passport on April and its been 10 weeks and I never get my passport back. I wonder if anyone know where can I follow up my status because I sent emails and no reply but it says it will take 6-8 weeks to get your passport back but its been 10 weeks. thanks

  5. Im new to this thread and im currently waiting still for the packet3 to arrive and currently 18weeks pregnant.I was freaking out when i found out that there will be a long wait to get the interview date in montreal. Now, i dont care at all for i decided to have the baby born here in canada. i know there will more stuffs to do after the baby born in canada and it means delays for us to go to US.i kinda like the things here in canada, going to see the doctor, just show the healthcard and i dont know how it works over there in US.My fiance have insurance which i think will not be a problem if i will have the baby there but what the insurance will cover i dont know.I dont like to get out of the hospital in debt so i think its better to have the baby here.

does anyone can help me what will i do or what documents to prepare so the baby can get american passport once the baby born? I plan to send the doctor's letter together with the documents for the packet3 so either the consulate an schedule my interview before my due date which will be on May 2011 or after my due date.

by the way, congrats to those who just have their babies. they are adorable.

  6. Im still waiting for the packet3 and our case was sent in montreal on november 16.i hope it will arrive this week. can we send the forms needed in packet3 without the letter from montreal or we need to wait for the letter that they will send us? it sucks bcos we cant inquire by phone, with email we dont know when they will send us reply.

  7. thanks for the concern guys.i really thought that after NOA2 things will move up fast but its not the case in MOntreal. But i will just think of some positive things like the free healthcare in canada and my future baby will have a dual citizenship.I just dont know why they punish us and enjoy torturing couples who just want to be together.aside from the interview fee of $350, the medical exam cost a lot of money too, its $275 + any additional charge for mailing. this is really too much to handle.

Congrats SimplyMacy. i hope your embassy is not the same as in montreal.

  8. Im very disappointed about my case too. I was happy to finally get the NOA2 but then here comes another months of waiting. it was sent to montreal and in montreal its 4-6months before you get the interview. i thought i can book online for the appointment but i need to wait for their authorization before i can do that. i believe the authorization comes when you receive the packet 4. i never get the packet 3 yet so when will i get that packet 4. last time i checked the earliest interview date for now is march 2,2011 in montreal. so i may get my interview date by may 2011 and im currently pregnant and will be due on May so i guess i will deliver my baby in the interview room. this is really sucks and i really hate this. i never thought it will take this long. they dont realize that in the process they are destroying relationships. :crying::crying::crying:

  9. I think I might as well take advantage of the free healthcare of canada bcos its not gonna be free in US.But im really disappointed but i guess i can check everyday and pray that someone will cancell their appointment then i can jump and get an earlier appointment. its a very long wait. almost 5 months for the NOA2 and almost 4 months for the interview. But im looking forward to see montreal again, its a very beautiful city.

  10. We got the Noa2 on November 4th. I asked my fiance to call the NVC after a week to check our case and to get the case Number which he did and learned that my papers was already sent to Montreal and we already had the case number on the NOA2. This morning, just try to schedule my interview online and kinda shock to find out that the earliest i can book is March 1st. this is suck bcos im 3months pregnant so i guess im gonna have my baby born here before going to US. yeah i still have to pay for non-refundable MRV fee which is $350 before i can book the interview. Im not so happy right now.

  11. I remember, i tried to ship some of my personal things in US before thru UPS and they wanted me to itemized all of my items with prices. when i told them its just my clothes and some albums, frames, books. they told me i need to provide them some documents. i cant provide them anything bcos we're just starting our visa process so they nver took my shipment. i think it also depends on how big is your boxes, i dont know but i will just wait for my visa and ship my stuffs after. I think you provide the shipper documents to prove that you are moving to the US legally. when i send gift to my boyfriend before, i used to put what's in it and the amount of the gift, you have to declare that.

  12. I dont get it. I thought the US embassy will give you the date for your interview appointment and the request for medical exams and even request for police clearance. I never thought that you can schedule for interview date yourself. I prefer to wait for the letter from the embassy. We survive waiting for almost 5 months for NOA2 so 2-4 weeks waiting for the embassy letter is nothing. My fiance just received the hardcopy of NOA2 yesterday.

  13. Just use everything you have. We used skype and that's what we sent and some photocopied of the cards especially the envelops with your address and his address with a stamps. we used to chat in yahoo before but we didnt sent any of our chats just the emails, just choose emails where you discuss about your love and future together.

  14. I always read this forum. and tonight i admit that im a bit jealous to all who get their NOA2. i dont receive a notification from USCIS but when i checked our case status, im so happy to find out that our application was approved and they already send yesterday November 4.im so happy tonight. i better inform my fiance right now about this and to tell him to check his mail from now on. I wish i can spend christmas with him.

  15. OMG before i was worried to receive RFE but now, im hoping to receive one too so i can do something rather than waiting. one more month and i will reach the 5months so i cant wait to hear what they will say. I hope our papers are still there and not lost or worst in the garbage.in USCIS site, we're still under initial review, nver been 'touch' ever.

  16. This waiting game is aweful but what can we do? as i know is that by november all the june filers can call and follow up our case to USCIS.its only 1 more month to go. I can still go and visit my love by christmas anyway or he should come and be here instead.its a hassle of going back and forth but theres always a prize for people who wait
