  1. Here in the RUB forum we post what we mean and don't need little girls to change our posts for us.

If you have something to say, then say it.

So which is it? Are there no decent men available or do they in fact exist and they're all taken?

Either way, there's a huge disparity in the number of men coming to the US to marry American women and the number of women coming to the US to marry American men. Why is that?

I'm not arguing the semantics of it or any moral decisions or whatever. I'm simply stating that it does in fact happen - in large numbers, I might add - and there's a reason for it. Care to unwrap some of those reasons?

  2. yes you can, you need to do this, tell the person whoever you will be doing work for, you don't want to sign a 1099-MISC because you don't want to pay taxes, so he can't ask your social sec. number, if he's an individual most likely he will say `ooh alright fine`. if he's a big company you're in no luck, then you MUST pay tax, once again, it's up to you and the guy who's hiring for a freelance job to decide this

it's really depending on the person who's hiring you

    bad advice

  3. With high salaries, they're still corupt. Not like its going to make a difference. Check out this news that broke here this week:

Prosecutors say the commander of a state narcotics task force in Contra Costa County has acknowledged stealing and selling drugs that were seized during raids.

Forty-nine-year-old Norman Wielsch, the head of the Central Contra Costa Narcotics Enforcement Team, was arraigned Friday on 28 felony counts, including drug possession. He did not enter a plea.

Corruption is everywhere..there will never be 100% compliance with any profession or anything for that matter. Private sector has their problems as well remember ENRON, and lets not forget to mention the banks and those great mortgages they were selling us.

  4. Gary and Alla, still it's not like "you're young, you have everything -> you're selfish". It's more like "you're young, you don't have kids, so you can enjoy yourself for a while".

Spending, sometimes the last money on your friends is actually more common for young people.

I think he was pointing out was that as you get older your priorities change. You'll see when you get older you won't want or do the same things anymore.

  5. I bet it would look like Madison, Wisconsin

Taxes are one of the reasons you pay so much for a plumber. 15% of what you pay him is gone immediately in self employment tax. If he is charging $75 per hour...

He has $63.75 left after employment tax. He has $51 left after income tax. 1/3 of what you pay are for taxes and that does not include any local taxes! He is paying $400 per month for liability insurance (at least). If he works 40 hours per week, that is $2 plus per hour. He is down to $49 per hour. He still has to buy his vehicle and pay insurance for that and all his tools. Health insurance he buys for his family costs more than $1000 per month. By the time all is said and done. if he charges $75 per hour he is maming for himself, perhaps $25 per hour. Not even average income for a skilled worker. What kind of business owner wants to earn $25 per hour?

Agree with you 100 percent on this one gary...if we could only find a way to make the other 47% of the population pay taxes, joe the plumber might be able to make some decent wages.

  6. Corruption in America? I don't think so...

Anyone call a plumber lately? Tow service? Legalize robbery....

Whats with all the taxes we pay?

    property tax

    sales and use tax

    income tax

    alcoholic beverage tax

    cigarette and tobacco tax

    car registration tax

    gift tax

    e-waste

    parcel tax

    airport tax

    etc

Check out the salary info for city workers around these parts...

    Northern California:

Livermore City Manager Linda Barton $302,472

San Ramon manager Herb Moniz's $359,669

Dublin's city manager Joni Pattillo $205,000

San Jose retired police chief yearly pension estimated at more than $200,000

The average San Jose city worker who retired in the 2009-10 fiscal year after at least 26 years of service earned a starting pension of $93,200. For retiring police and firefighters, that number was $119,000

Bridge toll-taker's base salary starts at $48,672 and tops out at $54,080.

I suppose if you really want to see corruption in San Jose drop city workers salaries in half and then see how things are.

  7. The entire system in America is corrupt. In Russia, you pay the cops when you mess up. Here, you have to pay an entire industry. Meanwhile the taxpayers are also paying for it.

Over there, your DUI costs $50. Here, it costs several hundred bucks each to: get out of jail, pay an attorney, go to court, pay fees, take remedial classes, pay your DL reinstatement fees, increased insurance premiums and whatever else you have to pay to get from point A to B in the meantime.

    And that's a simple case.

Don't even get started on something like domestic violence.

Because here, the taxpayers (and criminals) pay police salaries. Over there, the police make sh!t and have to make up for it with bribes.

The mafia is non-existent here because it's been replaced by the govt. and social service organizations subsidized by tax dollars. You can't out-muscle Uncle Sugar.

The two systems achieve the same goal (maintaining social order) but they operate entirely different.

You have personal experience with inner-city gangs?

yes i have personal experience with them everyday....don't forget the cops pay taxes too and if they have higher salaries than the average joe then that means they pay more money in taxes. I agree there's too many social service organ that are subsidized by tax dollars, which means too many free hand-outs with not enough money coming in.

Slim, I disagree strenuously on this! This is not corruption, this is JUSTICE! There is a very good reason for the penalties paid by people convicted of DUI.

agreed  there's a reason people have to pay so much when they get in trouble.

  8. I agree with you. I do the same, stay far from them.

I wantched on eurinews, like in the USA they caught a big narc-gang in the boundary with mexico that was delivering drugs to USA. And when they found out it was a lot of american policemen covering that gang. I can find the link if you want. I didn't watch what it was at the end. I think they jailed policemen, one even was crying.

I also like Mario Puzo books about mafia and so on. Well I know it's a fiction. Love books about mafia. But I really think not all policemen are pure angels in the USA.

Really tough to compare corruption with american police to russian police. It's not widespread here in America and those that do get caught go to jail. Those mafia movies are exactly that movies. The mafia is almost a non-factor within the US now..were more focused on inner-city gangs. Speaking from personal experience.

  9. I am not better with a stick than he is, and that's actually why he wants me to drive automatic. "Cheaper" is not an argument for him, he says it's not a big deal.

Well, traffic in Baltimore-DC metro area can be pretty heavy, but I live in a place with even worse traffic right now.

well i lived in DC for three years and my opinion is go with an auto..shifting gets old real quick in five o'clock traffic every day of the week.

  10. Nope. And the icing on the cake is she doesn't want children either.

She can log onto the embassy's website and accomplish all the forms she needs to do prior to receiving the packet. As Neon's pointed out, sometimes they don't even get the packet at all.

yea we got all the evidence together and fortunately i have a trip planned for right before the interview so we can fill out the forms prior to that day if she doesn't recieve her packet.

  11. Again, don't live your life based on what other people think or say about you. Eventually these lowlifes willdrop by the side as you progress onward with your lives.

Been though my wife sometimes has some difficulty speaking English in public never has she been ridicules or made fun of. In fact just the opposite everyone has been very helpful and can see she is trying.

Personally again if this type of behavior was being made by a family member or friend I personally would immaculately step in and stop it quickly and decisively. I'd look to your husband to do the same. You are his wife and it's just one of this jobs we men must undertake. If he has a problem with this then I can speak to him privately and set him straight if you want.

Agreed your fiance really shouldn't be letting anyone make you feel like that...friend or family.

  12. Thank you - excellent links. I've read through them and wondering - we'll be staying at her parents for a few days, then a week in Sochi (probably an rented apartment) then back and at the parents again for a few days. It looks like I'd want to get a Homestay Visa instead of a Tourist Visa??

Homestay's are kinda a pain to get...tourist visa is far easier...i've stayed at my fiances flat on numerous occasions with a tourist visa and have had no problems. Waytorussia.net is a good source to get visa support i've used them and haven't had an issue yet.

  13. Thanks for the great info Mckay! The most difficult part about the entire K-1 process is not knowing when you will see your significant other again. April doesn't sound too bad! Just have to get through the rest of Feb and March and that's it! Did Yana receive her packet from the embassy yet?

No she still hasn't recieved it. According to a russian forum she reads some of the other girls have been saying they recieved their packages about 10 days prior to the interview, but who knows i'm still holding out hope it will be in the mail soon so we can get everything together.

  14. Thanks for the reply slim. Yep, we're getting pretty close i believe. :) I received a letter in the mail dated Feb 1 from NVC, which says that our petition will be forwarded to the embassy within a week. However, i called NVC a little while ago and the rep said our package was mailed off already on the 28th of Jan. I e-mailed the embassy and a rep there did inform me that our case was not yet in their records, and to check back in 1-2 weeks time. Is it true that the interviews are about 1-2 months after the embassy receives the case from NVC? I'm really hoping to see Dinara a lot sooner than that.

Hey Nate, my package was also mailed off on the 28th of january and I had yana email the embassy a week ago and they sent her a message saying our interview is scheduled for April 15th so i'm sure yours will be around that time frame. Was also told that they only do interviews for K-1 on fridays.

  15. Increasing your odds is one thing, not having the balls to seal the deal is another.

That $4,000 for the social and "adding to cart" could've been put to good use rolling solo and doing a little field research. But, then again, I don't expect Trekkies to do that sort of thing.

you mean my 4 grand doesn't buy me a wife? Love the part with them showing off all their material items...little research would tell you FSU girls don't really care how many houses you own or how much money you have.

  16. Alla LOVES that commercial! Now she uses that term "I jump eeeen eeet" all the time.

I asked if she thinks the girls are really FSU chicks. She said "Yes, seems like it, they are normal looking girls"

So i just showed the video to yana and she says "oh matt you should be here for longer next time those are only average russian girls." :wow: I should have been born in the FSU

  17. Hi McKay. Glad you joined us. Nice to get more members that we do not have to explain RUB humor to.

When you want to copy a previous persons post, just click on "reply" at the bottom of their post and it automatically copies what they posted. Then just enter your post below it.

Hey Gary...haha no need to explain RUB humor to me...actually on second thought i dont think it is explainable to an outsider.

  18. Show her at your own peril. Forever 21 is in most malls too so it adds a few hours onto mall shopping trips. I do not accompany my wife to the mall anymore. Will not do it. If I somehow get conned into it, I grab a bite to eat, a coffee drink, and post up.

The cool thing about the Forever 21 at one of our malls here is it's sandwiched right underneath Victoria's Secret adjacent to the food court. I had the opportunity to school my little brothers one day before a Reds game. "Every woman coming to the mall goes to those two stores. Most of the time they'll head to the food court to pick up a flavored water or Starbucks or something as well since they've spent a few hours between the two of them and they're now exhausted and dehydrated from putting on and taking off clothes, checking their backsides, and walking in front of mirrors. Plus, they're carrying bags. They're thirsty! Then they head to one more place before they go - the ladies room. If you strategically position yourself at this table *here* then you'll be guaranteed an unabated view of every chick crusing the mall. Also, you don't have to break your line of sight to see them, they'll walk into your natural plane of view so you don't look like some creepy dude breaking his neck to try to catch a peep. When they walk by, smile, say hello and then get back to eating your Sbarro. P.S., this works in every country of the world."

They think I'm Yoda. - And we haven't even gotten into the Jedi mindtrick stuff yet!
