  1. I'm wondering how to comply with the travel authorization requirement portion of the interview.

My fiance is scheduled for her interview on Sept. 22, her two kids are part of the application and will be at the interview with her, but the instructions we have read and been given via email from the embassy is that either the father of the kids needs to be at the interview (not going to happen because of the divorce, btw he's not opposed to them living in the US, he just isnt going to the interview) or she needs a notarized statement from him that it's ok if they travel out of the country to permanently live in the US.

My dilema, The notary requires specific travel information, i.e. flight number, travel dates, etc. and until she gets approved at the interview, we have none of these things, besides, the kids aren't travelling to the US immediately, they are going to follow in a few months. And the other problem is that this type of authorization is for a vacation and not a permanent move.

She was told by the notary's office in Caracas, that she would have to file a court case to have a judge sign off on the permanent move to the US. Obviously, this takes time and her interview is next week.....

    Any suggestions, comments?

Also, any idea of the types of questions the kids may have to answer during the interview?

  2. We filed the K-1 in Sept of 09, had to call to get the reciept number because they mailed it to the wrong address. Called to check status after the 5th month and was told via email that they would respond to my inquiry within 60 days. Recieved RFE in March, responded and was received within a week. Called after 45 days to check status and was told via email to check back in 6 months for status, 10 months and counting!!
