I am new to this site and already am impressed by the depth of information, so I am hoping someone can help us. My German boyfriend and I recently became engaged, and while we plan to start our lives together in the U.S., we are confused about which visa would be the best route. If we do the K-1 visa, is my understanding correct that he really would not be able to work in the states until we file for the AOS & EAD after our wedding and he also could not leave the states to work any freelance jobs in Germany during this time, because of the wait time for an advance parole approval? IF that is true, we feel like filing for a CR-1 after our wedding might be better, though it would mean more time apart after we are married . Am I interpreting this correctly or have I missed something? Our other thought was to quietly get married in the states this summer so we could start the CR-1, and have a traditional wedding next summer, but not sure if that would raise red flags with immigration or not..... We've been together and long distance for THREE years, so we really don't want to mess up this visa process and risk being apart any longer than necessary!! I welcome any and all advice thanks!
