Oh thank you so much for answering my questions! Sorry I posted it to the wrong section originally!

My husband and I will be filing to lift conditions on my green card in July (Oct expiry), and I wanted to know if I will be able to travel out of country during the time that I am waiting for my new unconditional green card? Do I need to file for advance parole or anything?

I am very happy to say that my seven year old son was adjusted yesterday at his interview in Fairfax, VA. My husband sponsored him (as a step child). Our interview was about 45 minutes, but was mostly shuffling of papers on her behalf. She asked my husband questions about his step child's birthdate, and wanted to see proof of my husband's name on official paperwork regarding my son. We did not have that, but we provided his report card and a picture of them together at a school function. She took those and put them in his file, along with some other pictures.

They asked Johnny (my son) what his address was, his full name and birthday. She ordered the production of his card right then and there, and said that if we needed to travel before the card came in (a couple weeks) we should make an infopass appointment to get his passport stamped.

We had a document prepared from his father stating that he knew we were adjusting John's status, but she didn't ask for anything like that at all, nor my husband's new letter of employ, W-2's or last year's tax return (we filed in March, before this tax year was due, I guess that is the reason).

So good news, thought I would share!
