  1. Hello Everyone,

My my wife and I have won the American Diversity Visa Lottery (2016). But there is one challenge I want you to advise us on. During the entry the person who made the entry made a mistake in entering her date of birth. Instead of 23/02/1990 the person made it 23/02/1991. we realised this when we went for the confirmation page.

Now, all her documents (High school certificate, Birth Certificate, Passport and all documents) bear the same date of birth that is 23/02/1990.

would this cause any problem during our visa interview?

Also, we realized we have won just last week meanwhile the winning page shows 5th May as the date the winning information was released. we are now filling the Ds 260

Is it too late for us to fill and submit?

NB: My wife the is the principal applicant

    Thank you

  2. I am filling I-129F form, Part B question 2 some other portions ask for address (Number and Street), apartment number, Zip/Postal Code. My fear is that if I put my house number and street address they may send correspondence to such address. This is because mail delivery system is different from that US where mostly letters are delivered to your house. In Ghana you get your letters in the post office box at the post office which may be far from your house.

So my questions is should I put my house address or post office address. Those of you Ghanaians on VJ who have already file what did you put there?

Thos of you in Ghana what did you write in where they have stated Address (Name street zipcode)

  3. VJ members are just fantastic! you will never get this pool of advice from any website, OOOh sorry u you will get it but they will demand some dollars which VJ will not. the above information is all that you need cos i can say base on the information provided here that greater percentage filed themselves and they were successful. I will try and convince my fiance to let us handle the whole process by ourselves. this post must be threaded or saved for future visitors of this great site. thanks to all members and Visitors of VJ keep up the good work!

  4. my case is similar am in Ghana and my finance is USA. she says cannot fill the papers and handle other stuffs but because of VJ i can confidently say that I can fill the forms and handle other stuffs but i have some doubts so those of you who have gone through the process should help me.

Since am in Ghana Can I fill the forms and mail it to her to submit?

The whole thing is I am the beneficiary but i have studied the whole process on VJ and can do it but the petitioner says she can't handle those paper work so we should take a lawyer. is it possible to handle to handle everything by myself.

  5. DV Lottery winner notification is no more through mail(Post Office mail). You will have keep your confirmation page information well. Your number, year of birth and your name are most vital for checking whether you won or not. if you win you will be directed on the website as to what you must do next to proceed with everything. Please don't wait for letter to drop in mail box, go to http://www.dvlottery.state.gov/ESC/ and check your results.

  6. VJ members I know you people are great. Please help me out with these 2 questions The first is do the USCIS return the documents like wedding pictures, marriage certificate and other stuffs which show as evidence of marriage to you after approving your I-130 so that maybe you can also send it to spouse to use during interview at the embassy? OR Do they keep them? THE second question is my spouse is a USC and live there while I live in Ghana, How do we provide joint bank acount, joint property ownership, joint lease, I mean that joint joint. She spends 1 month vacation with me Ghana each year. Should we open joint savings acount whe comes for vacation.
