Sorry just saw this, have u applied, just got news from uscis. Permanent GC is being issued, no RFE n no interview.

We received it in 4 days and GC in 13 days.

He got his visa and the sealed envelope, 6 days before leaving Fiji we get a call from the embassy asking us to come pick up my hubbys medical reports that they forgot to include in the sealed envelope, I advised them it was not possible as the embassy was a 6hr dr and if they can send express mail or COD and I will pay for the package delivery. My husbands paperwork was soo mixed up at the consulate after he received his visa, when he told LAX USCIS POE officers of his experience, they adviced him that the consulate offices are so busy looking out for terrorists that they neglect other things at times. I don't think that should be the excuse for messing up someones visa documents, thank god everything was sorted before he left the country.

Congrats on the interview date, the consulate in India could be busier then other consulates due to the number of applicants from that country or city in general.

My expedite request was approved based off medical reports from dr. I am currently on FMLA due to a health condition, the report was sent to NVC, NVC forwarded it to Embassy and Embassy approved request, everything was handled by Suva Embassy and a few days after case complete, interview date and packet 4 was mailed in no time.

I requested an expedite and it was approved, thus it took 8 days.

At National Visa Center (State Department) stage, a separate independent NCIC database check is done by in-house FBI staff in connection with information supplied in the DS-230. Based on results, NVC has the option to request full fingerprints to be taken at post. NVC checks can usually be completed in 24 hours. The PCC also entails fingerprints, which the they need for FBI clearance.

I honestly think it depends on the post abroad as well, as there is a backlog at some embassies that is delaying case completion. Also I also think that the PCC plays a role in it as well, as the embassy needs to have everything before packet 4 is sent.

If only we knew this can be done ahead of time yaar, we would have been ahead of the game and prepared.
