  1. I slept there and had no problems whatsoever last year, infact there were I'd say at least 50 other people in there as well. I'm going to say that you will not have any problems. However a word of warning, sleeping in a public place, even in the airport, has it's risks. I felt very safe in the airport but that does not change the fact that random people are around you and walking past. Keep your things secure and close if you choose to sleep. I realize this is common knowledge, but I can't stress enough the importance to losing focus on your things. Most filipinos are honest, hardworking people, but survival is survival especially in manila where many have it very tough.

Stay smart, you'll have a great time. And sleep at NAIA no problem.

  2. Hi. My name is Trey, and I'm actually nearing the end of the road concerning the process of bringing my fiancé, Rose, over here to the US on a K1 visa. *wish I would have known about this great forum earlier*, be that as it may, I have a quick question.

My fiancé just finished her interview, PINK!, and were currently in the process of waiting for her visa and passport to be returned to her. My question(s) concern the CFO clearance/stamp. Firstly, is the clearance a simple walk in, take, seminar, get stamp process all in a few hours, or is there a waiting period of some sort after the seminar? Secondly, can the seminar be taken by just walking in, or do you need to schedule an appointment of some sort ahead of time? Lastly, does anyone have a suggestion concerning which day/time would be the easiest aka least crowded? (she'll be going to the center in metro Manila.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to becoming an active reader/poster on these forums. Very good folks here from what I can tell. ;)

  3. My fiancé just finished two seperate stays at Lotus Garden. And I was quite pleased with what I heard, comfortable standard rooms to help with the budget, free wifi in every room, free breakfast buffet which she said was excellent, walking distance to the embassy and St. Lukes extension clinic, BDO across the street for easy access to western union/xoom in a pinch, friendly staff who takes down taxi information and bans them if they rip off guests, walking distance to robinson's galleria for your fiancé to grab a bite to eat at jollibee or just browse the mall. Just a real pleasant experience all around for my fiancé at lotus garden. Also simple online booking, my fiancé checked the prices as if she was a walkin before she informed them of her reservation. She was quoted $40 a night compared to the $45 I paid online, so guess you could have your fiancé call to reserve the room and potentially save the 5 bucks. I just went with the online booking for the 2nd stay anyway, because I like having documentation of my reservations.
