  1. Greetings:

I am US Citizen applying for the K-1 visa for my fiance's from Indonesia. She is currently working in Singapore.

When she call the Singapore police station for COC(certificate of clearance), they said they only issue to Permanent resident and citizen only. so can she request the COC from Indonesian police department instead?

    thank you for your time

  2. I just got the NOA2 notice, as I wanted to make a change on my fiance's name thru email, they told me that the application already sent to my fiance's local Embassy.

I was told by the National Visa center that they will ask for a copy of my fiance's passport and they will make an official name change. Should I still send a letter to them with my fiance's passport to change the name?

    thanks

  3. we are waiting for the K-1 interview notice, currently because of the scheduling, and my fiance's parents want to have a wedding ceremony (but not registered) in her home country.

But I was wondering if I create wedding website that announce our INFORMAL wedding ceremony in her home country. Would the visa interview or USCIS check my background or the wedding website?

thank you so much for your help!

  4. the service center is CAlifornia service cetner,

Well, where is your fiancee? Which service center (Vermont or California) did your information go to?

The short answer is, "nobody knows" and there are absolutely no guarantees. We heard "5-7 months" so from our receipt date at the end of July, we thought maybe we'd manage to be together by Christmas or January, but we don't even have an interview yet and now I'm not sure we're going to have a visa until May or June because our consulate is so so slow.

If the USCIS issued an NOA for the receipt of your I129f petition December 17th, the best case scenario, with no problems or delays, is a petition approval in 6 months. From there, your application has to get to your fiancee's consulate, and that process varies from country to country, but generally takes no less than 6 weeks. Still, I would not make any firm plans until you have an interview date, and even after that, it is risky...

  5. You're going to have to give the board more information. Is there a specific question? Try the regional forum if it is something specific to Indonesia or Singapore. Also, I found emailing the embassy to work quite well, just include your case # in the subject and body of the email for them to help you.

thank you for your reply: I just have several qustions that my family prefer me to get the answer from the immigratoin: one of the main questions is: how much time does my fiance have after visa approved? i heard it's 6 months, but is it different from country to country? (my fiance is a indonesian working at singapore)

    thank you for your help
