  1. My parents got immigrant visa (permanent resident) and want to fly to US next month. they plan to sell their home and bring money here. they want to bring about 120K cash. is this money taxable or not?

Also what form do they need to fill out when they come to US or at custom?

if they open a bank account, does this money is considered as their income? they do not want to work, just they want to open a bank account to keep their money for their every day expenses, is it considered as income and they have to pay tax?

  2. You will need to do the same for them IR11 for both of them and as you are the sponsor not sure if you would need to do another 865 as they would have received yours already.

It's your parents right? And you immigrated to the USA yes? Your petitioner needs to fill in I-865 your spouse who sponsored you and then you fill in the IR-11

If you sponsored your parents then you fill in 865 and you send IR-11 for them.

Thanks for information. I sponsered my parents and got their visa and they fly to US in mide-Sep but I move to new house in mid-Aug. so I can not fill AR-11 and i-865 because my parent still do not have A-number as they are not arrived to US. That is my question that how do I file change of addres when my parents are not here and do not have A-number?

Also my parents want to sell their house and bring money to US (around 120K) to buy or rent a house. does their moeny is taxable? ot if they put it in a bank account, is it taxable?

  3. Yes you need to let SS office know as well

Thanks for your information. Now there is another scenario. My parents got their visa and they plan to come to US in mid Sep but I am moving to new home in end of Aug. in this case how do I change their address? They are not here but I as sponser already moved to new home. it means that they have immigrant visa in their hand but come to US and live in new address. how do I change their address before they neter to US in mid Sep?

  4. Greetings everyone.

Maybe this is old news. If so I believe that it bears repeating.

I called NVC this evening and spoke with an "operator".

I asked if they had assigned a case number for me. She said no.

She said that since it was more than 15 days since the I-797 approval date; I should do an email inquiry.

The email address to send the inquiry is: nvcresearch@state.gov.

She also said that the email subject line should contain the USCIS case number and I should attach a PDF of the I-797 approval notice.

In the message body I gave a brief description of the purpose of my email along with my name and a phone number.

    I just received this auto-reply:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for your recent inquiry to the National Visa Center. This

e-mail is an auto response. Please do not respond.

We review and reply as appropriate to all e-mails in the order they are

    received.

    Thank you,

    National Visa Center

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Good luck everyone.

    I hope this is helpful.

    Rickey.

I have done too. no info found. NVC can not do anything if USCIS don't ship our case to NVC.

  5. Thanks. Would you please tell me how long it takes to reach our case to NVC. When were you approved and what is your status on USCIS website? IS it post decision activity too? IS not that that post activity suppose to mean case sent to NVC? Sorry, lot of question. You have been the great help for me. Thanks

as you see other people experience, it takes at least 40 days from your NOA2 to reach to NVC. hope you get NVC case sooner.

  6. Ok guys I want to shed a little hope...I was approved on the 10th of January and I just recieved this email...

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity On February 3, 2011, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

So I am assuming they have sent it to NVC and I should have a casr number in a few days...I will update you when I recieve my case #...

    hello ezzeswife,

thanks for your post. it is good news that your approved case has been sent to nvc in less than a month. I have noa2 for 01-13-11. so I may get this email next week.

  7. hey guys, iam really fed up with these injustices, I was just told that my case was shipped to NVC ever since I got approved, but they had to wait to tell me 25 days before the 90 days are up, so now i have to solve this with NVC and guess what NVC repeats they do not have a record of my case. I feel like I have been screwed, I do not know what to do. The lady, tier 2 of USCIS said that she is going to put a request to follow up with my case and I should get an answer of what's going on with my case in the next 2 to 3 weeks. I just want to cry my eyes out, this is like telling me I won the prize but I can not get it because it might have gotten lost in the mail. Seriously what should I do, I can not take this anymore, what can I do??? :( why so long .... I would have rather waited for the NOA2 this long than the actual transfer from USCIS to NVC...God help us all...

I believe NVC tell you truth. They don't see your case in their system and they can not do anything. it is obviuos that TSC holds approved cases for some unknown reason. They may ship some cases after 40 days but it seems that they kept majority of cases. in this situation, we need to find out why USCIS TSC hold all transferred and approved petitions?? senator may help but i don't know how to explain. because senator office said your petition approved why are you complaining?? I don't know what else we can do!!!

  8. 3rd guy got to NVC finally, after a month!! That's a good news to all of us. Just wanted to ask a question those guys who reached NVC: did USCIS send you all a letter saying your case was sent to NVC after you got your NOA2? Seems like they started sending additional letters telling approved petition was forwarded to NVC.

    skynaut,

I asked mike about it and he said that he got an email that his case is shipped to NVC. it took 7 days after he received email to get his case number. it means that we have to wait to get an email from TSC that our case has been shipped to NVC. hope to get this email soon. Mike got it after 38 days of his approval.

  9. NVC says they have no record of my case, so they always ask me to email a copy of the approved notice and I "Always" tell them I already have, in the end they reply, "well sir there is nothing we can do if we have not received the case from USCIS, which I understand that :). Then I call USCIS, if I get ahold of a lazy agent, they will usually tell me you have to wait till february 26th which is the 90 days period :S, if it happens to be a nice agent they will tell me sir, we have to collect the paperwork from various directories and usually it takes time :(... So basically my case is collectiong dust under a pile of early approved cases :'( ...and the waiting continues

    EGUZI,

from your response, now I am confident that we can not do anything before 90 days. it is going to be another three or four months added to i-130 NOA2 before our case reach nvc. it is so sad that CSC cases only takes 10 days to reach nvc but TSC cases forever. We are now caugth between nvc and uscis and both don't take any responsibility. it means that for long time we have to just call nvc and listen to nvc AVR that we have no record of your case!!!!!

  10. hi every one, congratulations to the ones that got approved and wish a quick approval for the rest...well, i too just like dan is waiting on nvc case number for over 2 months, sometimes i wish i did not get approved as fast for my NOA2...its nerve wrecking i really pray no one has to go through this, a procedure that usually does not take longer than 15 days its taking about 63 days and counting :'(...good luck to us all

    EGUZI,

when you call NVC, what do they tell you? did you do anything? and did you get any response from NVC or USCIS? please let us know.

  11. I just called NVC and I said my case approved Jan, 13, 2011. she said that read your approval notice. I read the part that says I need to wait 90 days so she said "you need to wait 90 days". I told her everybody get NVC case number in 10 days why should I wait 90 days?? she replied those are special cases, you have to wait 90 days. I said thanks for your information!!!!!

so I wait few more days and call back again, hope next time a nice person answer my phone call.

  12. Sooo I figured I'd go ahead and start this thread for all of us [former] TSC hostages waiting for our NVC case #s! So far there's only been one of us that has gotten to NVC.

As for me, I spoke to an operator on 1/24/11 and she told me to wait 15 business days for the case to be received and entered in the system (that'd be around 2/4/11). So that's what's going on with me.

    Jenny,

Yhanks for starting this thread. I was thinking about it last night. after completion of journey from CSC to TSC, now we have to face another journey from TSC to NVC. hope this journey is shorter than 90 days. BTW, I got approval on Jan, 13, 2011 so far no NVC case number. NVC said that call after Feb, 01. I don't know what to say to senator this time. NOA2 says I have to wait 90 days but I see people getting NVC case number in 10 to 15 days after i-130 approval but it is not from TSC, of course. let's be positive and hope everybody get case number soon.

if you go to the following link:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/281110-california-service-center-to-texas-service-center/

you will see many people are waiting for approval. All cases that has been transferred to TSC, for some reason is being hold over there and there is no news. if you read about those who called USCIS, they got different answers without any specific timeline for approval. we have to wait until next year and hopefully we hear good news.

  14. my case also transfered from CSC to TSC then local office and again another local office. my priority date is June,28 and still no approval. We can not do much as many people have same issue. look at the following link that shows many people with same issue:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/281110-california-service-center-to-texas-service-center/

I think we have to wait and hopefully TSC process I-130 in new year faster. just hope.
