We just recieved a RFE asking for more "evidence if marital bona fides."
It lists examples such as:
-Copies of insurance policies *(we have none. I have health insurance because I have medications I am on but we couldn't afford it for him and my dad still techniqually owns our car so he's been nice enough to pay for the insurance until we can afford it.)
-copies of credit card statements *(We don't have credit cards, only debit cards but I sent them tons of those statements)
-Joint utility bills *(I am going to ask the companies again if we can get these in both of our names but this either wasn't an option before or I had heard on VJ that it wasn't counted as evidence)
-ETC...
I am in a big hurry right now because I am have to leave the house in minute, but if anyone has any ideas it would help a lot!
Thanks! (sorry if this was rushed! )

did you send in pics of the two of you together at family functions?
Yes =)

Thanks everyone for your help! I hope to get this sent off today!

Hey everybody! It's been a while but we're finally back to file for Removal of Conditions. I've read over the forums and info sections as best I can but I am terribly busy with other things and don't have time to research this step as much as I did with the other ones. If you all could look over the list of what I have and answer a question or two for me it would be a huge help!
Here's what I have to send:
Cover Letter
i-751 form
Joint bank Statements
-Checking
-Savings
-and copies of both of our (nearly identical) bank cards.
Our Marriage Certificate
Proof of myself (wife) as my husband's emergency contact at work and listing me as his beneficiary
Joint tax returns for 2012 (we didn't file the previous year since we didn't make enough)
joint apartment lease
2 affidavits
Copies of both of our passports
Copies of his 2-year greencard (front and back)
Photos
Do we need any of the following? :
-driver's license copies (even though his is expired and they both list our old address?)
-birth certificate copies?
-Anything else?
Question:
-for the filing fee do we send them just the $505 (minus the biometric fee) or do we send $590?
-we don't use checks, is it okay if we send a money order instead?
-who do we make it out to? Our service center?
Thanks for your help!

1 year after our first K1 NOA and we have finished with USCIS (for the next two years)! DH's greencard was ordered into production, yay!
-
Congratulations! DH has him driving exam in two weeks and he is nervous about driving as well. How did you get over the fear of driving?
-
He worked, he isn't lying
It is unlikely they will 'look into it', in my opinion, they have heaps to do and don't have much time to follow up on individual beneficiary employment history
Good luck
Yes, I agree with this. As long as he is honest you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Wow...this is just shocking! At the very least we know that she covered up the death of her child, you would think that would have made some impact on the verdict!
-
DH's EAD card arrived through the post! (It came on Saturday but we were out of town so we just now received it). So from approval to receiving it took only 7 days!
-
About how long did it take everyone to actually receive their EAD/AP card after they were notified it was approved? Just wondering because N has already heard of a few job opportunities and it would be great if we could estimate whether or not we'll have to wait the full 30 days.
I've been wondering the same thing.

This must be a good week for April filers, because we just got notice that N's EAD and AP were approved June 29!

I received my Green Card today!
So glad to be done with USCIS for a while but I will keep checking this thread to see how my fellow April filers are doing!
Good luck everyone, wish you all a speedy processing!
Yay! You must be thrilled to get a break from USCIS!
Hi everyone!
Our interview in SF last friday was very quick and painless. We were only asked how the 2 of us met and the IO officer reviewed the I485 app with Dex.We brought all our wedding album and lots of pictures/mails/cards/joint accts print outs but we werent even ask for any.Not even one.
and Dex EAD card arrived Saturday!
good luck everyone!
Well done! I am glad to hear it went smoothly for you both!

i'm getting my doctorate in quantum optics. i say go for it if you realllly love what you do, and prefer tons of freedom to making a lot of money initially
Ooh that's brilliant!
Yeah I do think it would be great to be involved in the development of new and innovative technologies, as opposed to just working in the field.
-
I need it for august
going to take up speech and language pathology
That sounds like such an interesting topic! I've been wondering lately if I should go to graduate school after I receive my Bachelors; I think it would be awesome if I had the discipline to get my doctorate.
Good luck!
-
Update! Another CSC approval!
I got the notification for EAD and AP last week, but today they sent the email of approval for my GC!!
@Missicy: we filed the same day and got approved the same day. Yay!! Can't wait to get it!
Yay!!
-
I really hope so.. A part of me is trying to stay positive and another part is just paranoid and losing hope! I really can't wait for this to be over
If only I could be happy with the EAD but my school won't let me study with it, so I really need the GC. And with my hubby deploying, I would realllly like to go to grad school so I can keep myself busy. Hope it comes soon for everyone else waiting. I know we all have our stories and our own reasons for needing it, so I am keeping everyone in my thoughts, especially those who had to deal with RFE's and other unfortunate setbacks!
I am sure you'll have your greencard soon! When is the deadline for your grad school?
(Pardon my nosiness) what are you majoring in?

We got our explanation today. The packet was sent to the US attorney at the EIIC that assisted us in filing for the K1. I guess because he's the attorney on record, they sent packet 3 to him instead of to my fiance. Strange, but at least it has been received.
Oh, well that explains it!

Just got a text from USCIS - Green Card approved!

RFE....Help Please!
in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
Posted · Edited by Gingerpants
Thank you for responding!
The car is still in my dad's name and we won't put it in our name's until we can afford the insurance. We have an apartment together and so we sent that lease agreement in our packet. I got the energy company to add his name to the bill so I should be able to send the next bill in our RFE response packet. I am going to try to get the internet company to do the same. But I am worried that sending them utility bills won't be enough.
*Okay I just reread the RFE and I think the issue might be that we lived with my parents for the first year of our marriage and therefore didn't have a lease for that. Also I might not have sent enough bank statements from the beginning of our marriage.
Here's the line that I missed before "However, the documentation submitted is insufficient because it does not show joint financial responsibility or joint residence throughout the length of the marriage."
So if I send a signed letter from my parents saying we lived with them and get the bank to write a letter saying when we started our account (a day after moving to the US) and that it's our only account, and that it's been active this whole time. Plus I'll include more (earlier) statements and the utility bills, will that be sufficient?
