I have a Russian friend who lives in Moscow and is wanting to visit me in the states this summer. His interview date is in a week. I am very nervous about this process as I have heard it can be quite difficult. He just graduated from university, owns his own apartment, has close family, has a job with the university and is applying for a MA there to begin this fall. He has also travelled to several other Western European countries before, one being just last summer. I have written him an invitation letter specifying I would be financially responsible for him, provide housing, make sure he leaves at the designated time, etc.
Do you think he has a good chance at getting a tourist visa? Any encouragement would be greatly comforting!
Also, what types of questions do they usually ask in the interview for a tourist visa?
