  1. Hi,

just an Advance Parole update for you: if it's been more than 3 month and you called USCIS and got the service request number and were asked to wait another 30 days it's worth it to send an email to the local field office instead before scheduling an infopass appointment with them and ask them for help. that's what i did because we want to travel to germany next week and i didn't want to put up with that waiting game. so i sent an email to the field office yesterday and asked them if they could help me, they requested an update from the national benefits center right away and the field office just sent me an email telling me that the NBC all of a sudden approved my application today and they would mail the card today. WOW!!! i'm sure it got lost somewhere underneath their piles of applications. i'm glad i did that. seems like they take their time as long as you put up with that. don't have to cancel the flights and can start packing =) woohoo

good luck to all of you!

  2. oh my god... i can't believe this. compared to you i should be happy that i at least got the ead card. I'm sorry to hear that and i hope you will hear something soon. let us know how your info pass appointment went. maybe i should try and do the same? i thought once the service request was sent they can't help you at the local field office. i also sent an email to the field office a couple of weeks ago but they did not even send anything back.

    good luck to you...

  3. Hello March Filers

I got a question. Has anyone else here done a service request with USCIS? I filed for AOS along with EAD and Travel Document on March 16. EAD was approved after 2 month. Today I called USCIS to find out why there is a delay with my Travel Document application because I was told that it takes 3 month until they make a decision, which would have been yesterday. So I just called USCIS and they said they didn't know why there is a delay and sent a service request. I got the confirmation number and was asked to call back in 30 days if I don't hear from USCIS. WHAT IS GOING ON??? So many people got their Travel Document approval with or right after EAD and it didn't even take 2 month. Are there any other people going through this? This is so frustrating because we were planning on going to Germany this month... Thank you guys...

  4. :ot: Here is our advise for you: If you see food as a big problem, don't get married. I thought this site was to help with visa and immigration related issues, not rice fluffiness and wholeness. I wonder if you're post is even serious by what we read. Your detailed comments about cooking and the tomato flavor in the rice should be posted on a cooking site. Don't take our advise the wrong way, we just feel like garlic and onions do not belong on visajourney...
  5. Yup! Haven't had a touch since 4/9/2011.. sigh.. what else do i have to do besides go online? we can't work lol.. tim's out working all day, sometimes night.. *sigh* oh and i cant believe we even started on the paperwork at the same time! we started preparing may of last year and filed june :)

yea we definately have some things in common :D lewis was stationed in germany and he had to go back to the states last year in march. so we had to go through that long distance relationship thing. i visited him in may for 2 weeks and we prepared all the paperwork. he visited me in germany in october because we didnt know how long it was going to take to get the visa and i finally moved to the states in dec. now that we are finally together we often talk about that time and ask each other: how did we do that? (touched 04/18/2011)

  6. agreed.. but i just cant wait for all this to end though :) honestly i think this is all too much for me! but you're right, just today he asked me if I was happy, and I really am. This is all just so perfect (L)

i know... this is taking too long... we've been doing this paperwork since may 2010 at first for the k1 and now we're waiting to get the aos done. one day... i'll keep you posted. oh by the way... are you one of the crazy vj members that checks the uscis.gov status ten million times a day just like i do? i can't help it.

  7. Got noa1 hardcopy today!!! :)

hi messybrownhair. congratulations to the wedding and good luck on your aos journey. i spent so much time reading your blog because your story reminds me of our relationship and of what i'm going through. i could have written that ;-) you are a very sweet couple. i like the pictures, especially the wedding pictures. everybody can tell you love each other =) we are march filers. i'm going to do a walk in tomorrow to get my biometrics taken and i hope that will speed up the process. good luck to you and everyone here =)

  8. I just received package 4 in the mail and it states my interview for K-1 is for the 28th of September. I already setup an appointment for the medical in Berlin since I am close from Dresden and its on the 7th of September so that I have all the required documents for the interview. However, the instructions state that the medical will be done on the day of the interview. Why would they want the medical exam done after the interview? Will I be required to do a walk-in exam after the interview, then have to schedule another appt with the consulate to present the medical documents? This doesnt make sense. Anyone out there past that part of this journey please advise. Thanks.

  9. It states on the instructions checklist for Fiancee Visa Applicants FIRST: Immediately complete and return to this office the enclosed forms: DS-230 - Part I, APPLICATION FOR IMMIGRANT VISA AND ALIEN REGISTRATION. So what about Part II Sworn Statement which has to be signed in front of a consular officer? I'm sure that has to be filled out also to mail in with all the other requested forms. Just want to make sure.

  10. On form DS-156k..there are documents that must be attatched in order to apply for a Fiancee Non-Immigration visa. One of them is Evidence of Engagement to Fiancee. What form of evidence is the consulate looking for? We are going through the Frankfurt consulate and we are gathering all the documents required to mail back. If anyone has any information regarding this based on past experiences, it would be much apreciated to share with us. Thank you so much.
