Husband got his Green Card in the mail on November 12...it was approved 1 day after our 2nd anniversary...funny how I count our anniversary from the day we met and not our wedding day....God is always good...I pray fervently that we stay centered in His divine embrace and will....much more strength is needed to continue for the children....Much more money....worse than starting over...

Greencard is here! No more paperwork or money for 2 years!

How's it going for you? I've been out after having a big surgery. Not back to work yet, but I'm hoping they will release me in a few more weeks. We got a Biometrics appointment scheduled. Any tips for that? Sounds like everything was so smooth for you. We still have no EAD, and no green card. He's enjoying it here, but has spent the last four weeks taking care of me. Poor guy. He will need the summer off to recuperate!

Having a honeymoon to remember...just came home from the hospital yesterday after having major surgery. The hubby has been wonderful! I feel so lucky to have him here!

Hi Larysa! I'm back, after having major surgery. Had a four level cervical fusion. Not back to work yet, but hopefully I will be in the next few weeks.
We didn't go anywhere for a honeymoon. It was exciting enough just to GET him here. We had a few trips planned for May and June, but the one for May is out, and we'll see about the one in June. Surgery messes up everything!
How's Simon's new job? Are you adjusted to married life?

Now that the children's interview is set and I have some reasonable idea that they will be coming home finally, I made the lst of all things I wanted to accomplish before they get here and I just stare at it? What is wrong with me?

Simon got a job!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Larysa! Have I congratulated you two yet? How cool is that? He sure got hooked up quickly for work. Is it in his field too? I'm thrilled for you two!
We are still waiting to hear back. I guess no news is good news. We did receive the paper that says we made it into the system. Is there a place online that we can check progress at this point? (I figure if it's out there, YOU will know about it!)

Hi Dan! How are you coming along? Hooray for you! You made it through the muck!! We are still waiting to hear back. All we have received is the confirmation that the packet was received. Hoping that it will come soon, so he can look for a job when he is ready. We had planned for him to take a year off, but I may have screwed it up by having a major surgery this week. I guess if it's not one thing, it's another!
So...did you say that you got a job somewhere, aw...

Honey should be on the plane to Lagos to make sure the immunizations and medical exams are complete for the children...Let's hope that the interview will be scheduled during the time he is with the children...God's hand will direct it all....

Loving the married life!! All of the waiting, really is worth it in the end!

Well, the update is this...my fiance was grilled...no easy interview here. We were given a 221g and instructed that he needed to get his fingerprints done in London and then sent to Nigeria for a police certificate...It was said that the Nigerian police certificate he had could have been gotten on the streets.

Will be in London with my fiance for the interview. Please pray that the issue of the children's visas will be a quick fix...everything in order for the children except for their medical exams as they are in Nigeria...anyone with similar experience please ring in...was told by USCIS that it will be up to the embassy in London to decide the next steps for the children...God bring them home...they are just babies and need to be finally with their father

Sad day. Fiance's flight from London was cancelled due to bad weather on Friday, and now they just announced that it would also be cancelled Saturday. Chaos at Heathrow. Too far away to go back home, and there is no more home now, since he's immigrating here. They were telling people to leave the airport too. I'm not happy. British Airways needs to get it together.

Adjustment of status despatched to USCIS - fingers crossed for the next step!
