  1. You better prepare her for some "curveballs". I thought i had everything when i went to my interview....then they told me i have to come back with a notarized photocopy of my husband's passport stamp of his latest visit. Just because i was pregnant at that time and the filipino lady at the window was doubtful "it" was my husband's. #SHOCKER! Haha

  2. Wow... I need to do something. I am at 235 and want to AT LEAST get down to 190. I have problems with hypoglycemia though, so it is difficult for me. I get very dizzy and ill when the blood glucose drops after meals too much. I mean, I used to be able to just not eat much and exercise and the weight would drop off.

I am hypoglycemic, as well. Have you tried eating little meals every 2-3 hours? It helped me a lot.

  3. Hope you're getting great results! I have a friend who had tremendous success with the program. I've done Turbo Fire and would have liked to try Insanity but Shaun T just annoys the h*** out of me! Haha

  4. I really appreciate all your response guys. The consulate here in Atlanta don't accept or do renewal of passport..

You are welcome! After i emailed them, i got a reply back with a link to check for my scheduled time and date. I hope that helps.

  5. Hi everyone

I checked the embassy of the Philippines website today particularly the outreach program schedule. I am glad they have a schedule in GEorgia on Nov. 5th. but i do not have any idea when they will post the address and the time on their website. So i can be able to make an appointment and won't miss it.. If anybody here knows please let me know. I need to renew my passport here and not to go all the way to WAshington.

Anyway, I just can't get this part >>>>>>Send the e-mail request/application for appointment to the Embassy e-mail address:

It would be nice if i can see a sample of the request/appointment to the embassy here.:help::help::help:

    Thank you all..

I don't know if you have this resolved but here goes:

I completed and printed the passport application form and scanned it along with my old passport. I then emailed them to the email address provided.

Subject: (insert city and state here ) Consular Outreach Application Form

    - Attach your scanned application form and data page (bearing the name and photo) of your old passport

    I just wrote this message:

Attached are the advance copy of my application form and copy of the old passport.

Sincerely or whatever you want to put in here :P ,

    Yourname

You have to send it in as soon as possible. But, as the other posters have pointed out..there is a consulate in Atlanta - why not go there instead?

  6. You are going to marry this girl, but do not know her culture?

Filipinos are ephemeral thinkers. They do not think about the future. Only the day. That's why simple things for a westerner are lost in the mind of the Filipino.

Such as saving money, using birth control, getting an education, even showering and brushing their teeth. Just a different culture.

    I disagree.

  7. Alright, here's the story...

Last week I found Chris' cologne on this site, fragrancecosmetic.com. I can't find it anywhere, so I got very excited and ordered it. The site seems safe, McAfee put a little green check mark beside it, you can pay with pay pal and all that fun stuff.

BUT, they sent me an e-mail with the tracking number and everything, and it still does not appear on USPS... I e-mailed them, asking them what the h*ll was going on (not in those words), and they e-mailed me back saying that once the package would be received in the postal office of distribution where I live, it would appear online... I'm thinking that doesn't make sense, and I got screwed on that one...

Has anyone ever bought anything from them? Or had similar experiences?

It usually appears online when the package arrives at your local post office and scanned for delivery. Sometimes it only appears after the package was delivered. And as the other posters mentioned...the post office tends to be slow this time of the year.

A bit of advice, always research the business before placing your order online. :)

  8. I'm hoping someone can offer some helpful info..

I'm entering the US on my K-1 (moving to Houston) December 3rd. The I-94 they'll give me at the border will state that I'm allowed to be in the country for 90 days.

Problem is, to obtain a driver's license, the TX DMV needs to see that I'm allowed to be in the country legally for at least 6 months. Now I know Canadians are allowed to visit for a period of 6 months so i'm not sure if that works in my favor. I thought I remembered hearing that Canadians can drive with their Canadian license for 6 months - year, and I'm a careful driver so it's not so much that I'm worried about getting pulled over as I'm concerned that when I DO go to apply for my license, I'll be fined or something for not getting a TX license within 90 days, as required by new residents. It's a catch 22! Now, it's possible I'll receive my work permit within the 90 day period and that should be sufficient proof, but if I don't, what's the best way to proceed?

The DMV in Conroe suggested getting an international driving permit, but I looked into those and you have to have a US license in order to get one.

Can anyone offer advice? I'm a little lost and am just trying to follow the rules. Help!

Just go to the DPS in Houston and bring your valid Canadian driver's license. The other tests will be waived but you have to pass the eye exam.

    EDIT:

Ok, i'm not sure about the I-94 on K-1's but it can't hurt to try and find out, right?

  9. i figured as much but i just wanted to make sure that the wife don't go handing it at POE when it's not part of the packet she needs to give to CO. i plan to take them to my primary physician when they get here and will have him review the xrays...but it's not mandatory for him to review it right?

They wouldn't even take it.

  10. Well, I have been married for almost two years and I have concluded that this will go nowhere. I have been taking therapy with my wife, because she is extremely unsecured and jealous. If i watch a commercial and an attractive girl pops up my wife go crazy and accuses me of everything. I cannot even go to work if there is a girl working there, because she thinks i am cheating on her. She was cheated many times and left with one kid, who I also brought to this country. This has been going on for a while now. I thought my love for her would help her overcome it, but she is very ignorant and stubborn and she is the normal one and not everyone else. I have the biggest fights with her over the smallest things and it is affecting my health, job, and other things.

It has not been two years yet since she entered the country so no conditions have been removed. What options do i have? I know this sounds mean, but I do not want her in this country because i know it would not work out for other reasons. I was thinking of taking a trip to her country and get into a fight and leave her instead of making up, which I am the only who tries every time. Then get a divorce there and take all documents with me. Is there a way I can get her green card voided? by telling the I will not remove the conditions? how does this work? help please.

    WOW!

  11. Last week, we saw a post in craigslist about this house that perfectly fits us, and everything was just what we wanted! And just a while ago, I received an email that they have chosen us to get the house. However, I have concerns, they are now in Africa and before they can send the package which includes the Entrance and the rooms Keys, Paper/Permanent house form, and The house documetary file, we need to send via money transfer or wire transfer the amount expected from us: $600 for the first month and $400 for the deposit. From our emails, everything was neat. She even mentioned about God. However, we also want to be careful. VJers, what are ways to confirm that this is true as we know a lot of scams are going on right now. But btw, they gave us the address of the house.

Everyone, please shoot any suggestions. :)

    God bless! :)

    SCAM!

Stay away. Far, far away! It's always a dead giveaway when you are asked to wire money. Always meet in person. I've bought some things off craig's list but i have to meet them in person, in public places. HTH!

  12. 2-3 months from filing AOS with a Texas address (especially Houston and Dallas), and most people in VJ have not received their biometrics appointment notice (therefore not their EAD and GC). It is very frustrating! In my case, (my address is in Houston, entered with a K1 visa) I filed 2 months ago and have not received biometrics appointment notice, AP, EAD, nor GC. Even my AP and EAD are still not uploaded in the USCIS system (cannot check case status). Anyone with an address in Texas having similar problems?

You should make an infopass or contact a congressman. I received my biometrics letter 22 days after i received the NOA1s.

  14. I'm a little confused at the moment with the Philippines passport.

on embassy of the U.S. Manila website it says......

"1. PASSPORT: Each visa applicant must have a passport valid for at least six (6) months from the time of the visa issuance. Filipino citizens can apply for a passport at the Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA), Aseana Business Park, Bradco Avenue corner Macapagal Boulevard, Paranaque City. Applicants may set an appointment by going on line at www.passport.com.ph or by calling 02-737-1000. "

or does it mean that there has to be at least 6 months remaining before her passport expires??? - This is correct.

    THANK YOU!!
