  1. My husband and I went to his AOS interview on January 3, 2012. Everything went very smoothly with the interview, and he was approved in minutes. He said that the post office would mail it, but it had to be signed for and if we weren't home we would have to go to the post office to pick it up. The next few days I kept getting text messages and emails stating out case has been updated, which seemed to be normal, but on January 13 I received an email that said "On January 13, 2012, the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS as undeliverable. This may have serious effects on processing this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update your mailing address for this notice to be re-sent." We got that too late in the day to call about it, so I was going to call on the 14th. I got home from work that day and checked the mail and my husband's Permanent Resident card was in the mailbox. We were excited, but when we opened it states he was a resident since: 1/03/2011 and the card expires 1/03/13. Which it should read that he has been a resident since 2012 and the card expires 2014! I could only wish he was a resident since 2011 :P Anyway, I tried to call the number on the paper that came with the card, but didn't get anywhere. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

  2. Congratulations to all the recent approvals!! Our NOA2 was March 31 and yesterday the embassy emailed us and gave us an interview date of May 25! He still hasn't received the packet in the mail yet. We bought my plane ticket to be there with him for the interview as soon as we found out, we were so excited! After the NOA2, it sure goes fast!! I hope everyone is doing well.

  3. My fiance and I just received our NOA2 March 31 and our petition should be at the Peru consulate at any time now. I have been searching prices of plane tickets, because I will be traveling to Peru for the interview. I know there are a lot of threads already about buying roundtrip tickets instead of one way. I will need a roundtrip ticket starting in United States. We can buy my fiance a roundtrip ticket as well, but does his ticket have to go from Peru to United States and back to Peru? Or is it possible to buy two roundtrip tickets from United States to Peru and back? I'm not sure how to do this and still allow us to be on the same plane, sitting next to each other on the trip to United States. I'm sure I'm thinking wayyyy to into this, but any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  4. In early December, I went to a local shipping store to send a package to my fiance in Peru. I asked to send the package with Fedex. My total was about $80 and the lady gave me a tracking number and I was on my way. Later, when I was looking at the receipt I realized she sent it through USPS. I spent over a month fighting over that package. The tracking number only tracked the initial movement of the package and it was completely lost in the system after that. No one I called or emailed knew where the package was or how to help me, even though it was insured. My fiance didn't receive the package until late January. That being said, I would never recommend sending a package with USPS to Peru. :bonk: In my opinion, cheaper isn't better with shipping, especially important things.

  5. I met my fiance online in June of 2009. We have been talking nonstop everyday since then. I finally got the chance to travel to Peru to meet my fiance June of 2010 and spent ten wonderful days together. We are now ready to start our K-1 visa process. However, we are concerned that only meeting once in person and for only 10 days may be a problem and get denied. Do you think this is an issue? Thank you so much for your time.
