I had some problems a few days ago flying back through London Heathrow.
I'm a June filer and had my extension letter with the relevant part nicely highlighted but the airline check-in staff said they had to check with security first. After a few minutes I was asked to come over to airport security to answer a few questions. I was kept waiting there for a while until a representative of the US Department of Homeland Security came along. She then asked me a few questions and made a call on her cellphone to check my alien number. She then said it was OK for me to board but then proceeded to give me a lecture about I should have applied earlier - something like a year before my Green Card expired! She new nothing about applications not being possible more than 90 days beforehand, nothing about the time it takes to get approval and was clearly annoyed when I pointed out that she was wrong.
The moral is that even if you are travelling from a country that has a lot of emigration to the US, even if you tell the airline in advance (which I did) stuff can still happen.

Woke up to a nice surprise - an email from USCIS saying my AOS application has been approved and card production ordered!
Email was timed 10:18 PM EDT so they must have been working late in California last night! Ironically I usually check my emails and the USCIS site just before going to bed but for some reason didn't last night.
On top of this I passed my Virginia driving test yesterday.

About two weeks. Mine was approved on the 9th and got it today. Seems in line with what's happening to other people.

I got my SSN in March and it has the usual condition "Valid for work only with DHS authorization". I understand that I can get that removed when I get my Green Card but my EAD is going to arrive before my GC.
Do I have to do anything about my SSN after the EAD but before the GC? I don't think I do but it would be nice to have some confirmation.

I just saw on the USCIS website that my EAD had been approved (73 days).No emails or texts yet
I guess I'll have to give up my life of leisure and get job hunting!

I filed my I485 & I765 at the beginning of May. Like many others my I485 was transfered to CSC, however I received no NOA that my I765 was transfered. Is this normal?
I've no reason to think there's any problem but I notice that the I765 hasn't been 'touched' since 27th May ( the day after my biometrics).

A little surprised, our evidence didn't fit neatly into the cookie cutter and I thought there was a 30-40% chance of an RFE. We knew we'd be OK eventually but it's great to get it done.
