we met in may 2009 and this is my 3rd visit to algeria. not sure what you mean amm paperwork updated. who knows what is enough proof? we had chat logs both yahoo and skype and phone records and text records and tons of pictures and letters from his family and friends and my friends. what more than this?

They don't believe anyone I guess. Adel did hear from someone who won a visa in the lottery that the blonde woman was leaving soon for an other embassy. Might be wishful thinking! Good luck and hang tight... let them investigate as much as they want even though it's frustrating. Looks to me like an average of 3 months in AP for most people from Algeria in the last year. Wish you the best!

thanks!! Didn't you have a problem getting the embassy to get off their butts and do something with your application? I seem to remember you having to call them a lot trying to get the packet sent out. wasn't it like a month or something?

never done that, always got it from Adel and never had a problem. Embassy does not state head of household, just the "host", whatever works!

hmmm, didn't know the invitation could come from anyone but the fiancé, interesting! we'll see what my new one comes over as...

Mandy, In your invitation from your man, did he name you as his fiancee? Maybe that's the key... That's Adel's guess anyway.

Sarah, last year the 2 year visa's did not exist. Adel (a political science major) told me that they started issuing them this year. I'm not sure what the requirements are, obviously not marriage! lucky Mandy! I called my guy at the visa center and he wasn't sure either. He said the people at the Algerian Embassy think in a "unique" way and laughed. I think we all understand that!

ah well good! They seem to go back and forth on what you have to do. Last year when I went you had no choice in where you sent it. Now it reads like you either have to do it in person or send it to the center. Ahhh algeria, confusing even when you're not actually in algeria!

so possibly three of us in algeria in November! it's too bad we can't get on the same flight, those long flights suck by yourself. anyway congrats! and don't worry about the visa, it's easy-peasy
