My fiancee was an au pair in my city for 8 months before she left. We met at a coffee shop. How much more detail do I need to go into?

Any advice would be much appreciated

Why is it bad the other way around?

My girlfriend and I are trying to understand our options with visa process. She goes back to Mexico on July 1st, she was here on a J-1 visa as an Au Pair. We're not engaged yet but that is a possibility in our future. I was thinking, to make sure we give the process enough time that we start to apply for the K-1 visa right after she goes back. Then after 4 or 5 months it would hopefully be approved and she could come back and we could get married if we are at that point.

One of the concerns is that if we apply for the K-1 visa, our relationship doesn't work out, and she wants to come back to the US on a tourist visa(she has a sister here), if the fact that she applied for a K-1 visa will impact her chances of getting a tourist visa.

Any advice would be much appreciated

I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to get my lady back in US with me. She is from Mexico on a J-1 visa and has been here for almost two years with an Au Pair agency. Hey visa expires on Jun 02 2010. I thought getting a fiance visa would be easy and not take that long. Six months is longer than I want to wait. I'm wondering what we would have to go through if we got married right now officially in her last two weeks here.

I am a US citizen btw. We are in Austin Texas.
