has anyone who got married in the USA gone back to Philippines to have a wedding
for the filipino family to attend?
if so, what did you have to do as far as requirements?
was wondering if i had to get the legal capacity to marry from the embassy.

JV family members I need help on the exit fees from Manila. My lady said at the CFO paperwork said: 1850 for the tax travel which will be paid at the Phil Tourism Authority and terminal fee at 750.00 Have not read those amounts.
I want to be sure, because I am buying the ticket this Thursday for Saturday travel to USA.
Thank you VJ family!!
Blessings,
Judah
If you buy the ticket here or online your girlfriend has to pay the 1850 there in the Phils, but if ur gf buy ticket in the Phils, the 1850 is included in the price of the ticket,or should i say, added to the price of the ticket. The terminal fee have increased lately,it was 550 when my fiancee flew last May (comin here).

Hi everyone!I got married last November 8. Is it possible for me to get a work permit and ssn before i get the green card? After i get the green card, am i allowed to go home to the Philippines? Thanks
Yes you can.(Can even get ssn before getting married). You can submit EAD application with your AOS .EAD gets approved earlier than AOS,so u could use it to apply for work while waiting for your greencard.Once, you get your greencard you can travel back to Phils.
BTW,congrats on your wedding!!!

you can do a cover letter anyway you want. You can put your name & address. The name & address of the office u're sending it to.The nature of your paper(1-485 in your case). The contents of your envelope/folder (all the documents,pics,etc)..the amount of money oder payment(if applies)
-
dont put 1 in "c" , put 0 . Coz if u put 1 there ,your total household size("h") will be more than the actual (cause u'll have to add the number in the boxes).. Your wife should only be in "a"......

Congratulations..... We're happy for u!!!!

Congrats & goodluck!!!..chill,interviews are not soo hard

She needs her passport for Medical.after her medical they'd forward her passport to the embassy (with your other papers) ,so she doesnt bring passport to the embassy for interview.
-
tell your fiancee not to panic. You just got an approval notice,no packet 3 yet.which,if i'm not mistaken will contain her medical & interview schedules. We got approval notice January '07 & the medical was late April '07.Of course, not all cases are the same, yours might come in faster, but this might give you a rough estimate of waiting time. About, her BC wrong spelling..she could go
to an NSO office & ask how she could correct her name ..These days, one could get passport in the Phils. for just a day for a higher fee(they have like, one day, 3 days, 1 week, depends on how soon u need ur passport.)...GOOD LUCK to U!!
-
I guess it's normal. We got our EAD NOA ahead before we get NOA for AOS.
-
2 times last year,April & Aug..then i went for her interview last May '07,stayed 3 weeks to wait for her visa, then we fly home together..
Goodluck with your petition!!!

send pics of both of u (if possible, in a turkey landmark). It doesnt matter how many. Hotel receipts, plane tickets, snail mails or cards (this is more believable thou we're already in a computer age coz of the personal effect of it) one or 2 will do.If u chat on ym..print a couple chat scripts. Call receipts, yes. The more proof of ongoing relationship you show, the better.

Hi everyone,
I am keeping good records of every thing I am doing to prove my sincerity for my wife to be. Question is, I find the best phone rates to be international calling cards. I called my phone company to check what deal they had and a few other places but I would paying a high bill just to get these calls recorded on my phone bill. The calling card does not have this option. However, when I recharge the card, it goes on my credit card and I have proof there of calling. Any of you have any good options on where to go to get best rates and get a record of the calls at the same time? I would appreciate any good advice on this one.
Thanks much!
Also i tried to look up USA-China, it shows 2.9cents only per min.If u dont have local access & u need to use their access number u just add 1.5 cents/min. G3telecom is what my wife is using to call her family in the Philippines(13.5c/min) .They dont have hidden charges. You could open up an acct for $20 & use the auto recharge plan(means they automatically recharge your balance once it goes below $5 for no hassle on your part...you can see your record anytime in their website & print it,it will show your name & address ,the time of call, number u called,place,amount,minutes.etc.
-
try g3telecom.They have low rates plan u can choose from in their website g3telecom.com
It's like a prepaid thing. Once u dial their access code,an operator will tell u how much balance u have left. U can print your call history from their website for your record.

hi,
reading the instructions is confusing enough.
was wondering if i can file the EZ form although it
states in the instructions for i130 filers and we filed
i129f.
but i am the one who filed the petition, she is the only
one on it, and i only want to use my salary.
so, can i use the EZ or should i use the i864?
thanks

i saw an article in the newspaper stating that the fee for filing for greencard
will go up on Aug 1.
is this true? and if so, does it affect K1 type AOS filings?
thanks.
also, when my fiancee went thru POE in seattle, they changed her
first name on the I94 card. she uses Ma for maria and they
put Maria. her birthcert has Ma.
i suppose that screws up the paperwork and has to be fixed.

in the philippines you are supposed to pay your visa fee
at the bank and your supposed to get the 156 form stamped
as a receipt.
is this correct?
my gf just paid and the bank teller didnt stamp her 156
but stamped the back of a blank 157 form.
what gives?

an update.
whatever it was i said in the letter must have been acceptable
as our petition has been approved.
took less than a week after i mailed the waiver back.
thanks all for the help.
-
yes, my last k1 was approved in 2005.
-
hi,
just got the intent to deny cause of having a previous k1 visa approved.
they want a waiver from me.
just how complicated a letter do they want, and what further
evidence can i provide that i already had sent in with the petition.
i can give them copies of letters and phone bills in the last 4 months of
waiting.
any hints as to what to write would be helpful.
thanks

i got touched on 18 and 19. hope something will happen soon.
-
Just for comparison.
this is my second K1. i filed a K1 last year on March 1, got receipt dated March 3. NOA1.
On April 19 i got NOA2.
by October 13, my fiancee had her visa in her hand.
so about 8 months total time.
that was filed with Nebraska and went to Manila.
my second K1 i filed Sept 1, got receipt dated Sept 11. and they sent it
to CSC. have not received anything since.
when i become president, i will change this law.
go meet her, marry her, bring her home same day.
instead of making you wait up front, give a 2 year probation period
that you must check in periodically with uscis to make sure your
still together. if you break up, then deal with it.
anyone else got any bright ideas?
I-751 forms expiring 10-31-09 ??
in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
Posted
hi,
i am about to file my wifes i-751 and noticed the form expires on 10-31-09.
this brings up a couple questions.
does anyone know if the fee is going to increase when uscis comes out with a new form?
are they coming out with a new form soon?
i could beat the expiration date and file before the end of the month, but i would like to get
a few more "official" papers finished before i send everything and file in November.
what are some of your thoughts?
thanks
