  1. Guys, I just wanted to share with you that my husband and I were approved yesterday!!! We are so happy and excited to finally be together. Last night we flew from Bogota to Cartagena so I could spend some days with his family and mine, they are all very happy for us. Cant tell you how excited I am about this new life that we are about to start.

    Thanks for your help.

  2. RFE is heart shattering. Everyone hates RFE. It would be great if someone who has recieved RFE could tell us what you did after you receive RFE?

What are the action we should take if we get RFE? Thanks

You should send exactly what they are requesting and keep a copy of the notice and a copy of what you are sending to USCIS. I got a RFE too, don't let this turn you down. Good luck!!!

  3. You don't need the migratory movement letter unless the CO asks for it during the interview, but that's rare.

If you're going to the interview with your husband make sure you take your US passport with you so they can let you in the embassy.

The only paperwork you need to take with you besides your husband's migratory movement letter and baptismal certificate (if available) is your evidence. Take anything you can think of, letters, e-mails, chat conversations, airplane tickets, pictures, etc. As for pictures, you can take photo albums if you want but will have to take the pictures out of them because the album itself does not fit through the interview window.

Thanks Diana, so, you mean that I don't have to take with me the same packages that I have sent to NVC?

Any photos you provide will be kept, so also be sure to make copies that you don't mind parting with. Good luck!

Thanks I make sure of that ;-)

  4. We did the K-1, not spousal visa so I'm not sure exactly in that case but the list of required docs should be on the embassy website.

And, don't waste your time with binders, etc. We had everything assembled nicely and they basically took it apart. They will give you a folder with a list of what documents they want (and in what order) when you arrive. Just have everything they ask for ready and easy to organize as they want it. And, you can certainly take the photo album but make sure they are copies/duplicates. Once you pass something through the interview window, there's a good chance you'll never see it again.

    Best of luck!

    Thank you so much!

  5. Wow, it seems you are ahead of the game. I guess having an update on your case it is a good sign, i never got an update except for a RFE and just last month it still said that I had a RFE  They don't always update. You should be getting a response pretty soon.

    Good Luck!

by the way, I followed the EZguide to spouse, i think that's the name, just because I thought it was more simple.

  6. Sorry to hear that, the same thing happened to me with my biografic form for the I-130. They did send me a RFE and they also requested 2 more photos. I wondered the same thing, how in the world did I overlook that?

Good luck, things happen for a reason and it will be only a delay of 2 weeks. Get everything ready again, fill out that form and make sure EVERYTHING is filled out and correct, so if you receive a RFE you have it ready to mail the next day.

Don't let this turn you down and keep the faith throughout this journey!

  7. Hello guys!! We have our interview April 7th :D and we are getting things together and ready. Both my husband and I are Colombian but I am the U.S citizen and i was wondering if I have to get the migratory letter as well as he.

Also, I would like to know if any of you have a list of the things that I have to take to the embassy that day, I don't want to miss anything. Any advice on how to present the paperwork? binders? folders? I want to have everything organized. Also can I take a photo album?

    Any advice will be welcome.

    Thanks!!!

  8. I dont know how to post a question so guys if u dont mind.. We just mailed our form D230 to the NVC. and still waiting for response. What is going to happen next? Are we almost there on the interview time line?

    Good day and thanks

Give it about two weeks for NVC to process it. Do call the automated service to make sure that they got the package and that they are reviewing it. If there are no mistakes and you didn't miss anything your case will be close after they review it. Good luck!

  9. I just have a feeling people will have similar experiences at other embassies. Or is anyone finished at NVC and still waiting for an interview date? In other countries besides Colombia?

You know, i was wondering the same thing. I have been looking at other couples' timelines, same case as mine, and it seems that they all have waited about 3 months for an interview...that's crazy. Why does it take so long? I have been wondering if i'm gonna have to wait more time than what i have waited for everything.....ughhhh!!!!!

  10. i got a check list from the Nvc,with a bar sheet and so on

in the letter it states that i should submit my ds-230,but i didnt pay my Iv fee

What should i do,should i go ahead and send off my ds-230 with the documents???

That's a reminder for you to pay to continue with the application. I received the same email, there are just saying that you need to pay in order to continue your case :P

  11. I, as the petitioner made 3 copies of everything I sent, including I-864. I sent 2 to the NVC and I kept one for my records. The petitioner should always keep a copy of what it's being sent, better said, a copy of the whole package,so he/she can have one to take to the embassy later on.

I hope I answered your question.

  12. By the way....why don't you give them your email address, you get responses faster that way. You don't have to wait for regular mail to receive paperwork. I know you might be skeptical but trust me it's faster, as soon as something happens you get a response by email.

  13. DOES NVC MAIL I-864 ?

and how long can i receive it after paying IV fee bill?

note: i don't wanna to print the cover sheet from nvc websit

They don't mail it, you have to download it from the USCIS website according to the one that fits you. The thing that you receive after paying for the bill is the check list and the cover sheet letter which you will have to send with the rest of the I-864 package.

    Good Luck!!

  14. hello!

Well I had my interview on last january 5th...and my process was closed on Oct 6th...and just until DEc I got the appointment for Jan...hope that can give you an idea...but the wait depends on how many cases are pending with you...you should try to find people with similar dates so you can see when your appointment could be .

OMG, that's a lot more time to wait. Not the response that i wanted to see. Thank you

  15. I would like to know if the embassy in Colombia has to wait to receive the IV package from NVC before giving us an interview date or if it's done before they get the package. NVC has not closed our case yet, it will be 3 weeks tomorrow, hopefully it'll be this week. I just want to know around what month I should be expecting to go to Colombia.

    Thanks in advance

  18. I meant to write "Fee" in the title, not "Free"

Also, the DS-3032 has not been generated yet. My brother called the NVC again and they told him to wait until he receives his AOS fee invoice in his email before he can pay.

They told me the same thing over the phone but then some people here in Visa Journey encouraged me to call again because i could get someone nicer who would give me the IIN number and so I did and I got the number!!!

    Good luck
