Hi All,

I got OS155A along with my welcome letter and after a week from that I got a fingerprinting appoinment at the AOC. I'm totally confused as to why I'm receiving this after my CR-1 Visa approved and I entered into the US on Nov-8 2010. This didnt happen to my husband when he migrated.

If any one has any information, please share..

I reached Chennai embassy at 7.45 AM for my 9AM interview. My husband was waiting for me outside the embassy. I had the regular security checks and I was directed to the immigration building where lot of people were waiting. An Indian lady took my appointment letter and asked me to wait. And then, I was asked to go to a counter, where an Indian lady asked my medical report, my wedding invitation and my husband's tax return for the year 2009.

And then she asked the following questions:

was it arranged or love marriage?

When did you get married?

why so long time to file your visa?

And then she took my finger prints and gave me the token. After 5 - 10 mins, the visa officer called out my token number. She returned the wedding invitation.

She asked the following questions:

How did the proposal come?

How did you convince your parents? (since our's was love marriage)

Was he Hindu or christian?

Did you go for honeymoon?

Who sponsored your husband's visa?

When did he get his naturalization?

And then she asked me to flip my wedding album.

Then the Visa officer said, my visa is "approved" and should be getting the passport in 1 week.

Overall it took close to 2 hours including the waiting time (outside too).

Got the passport(w/ visa) within a week.....

Hi Folks....

I wanted to share the happiest news...my wife's visa interview was today and she got her visa approved...should be getting the passport in next couple of days...I will share the interview details shortly...

Is the realtive question for I-130 form Questions 13 and 14, then the relative in this context means the benificary.

also, refer to my timeline and the chennai consulate interview review for details of the interview. while it was a long process, it was not too bad. your wife will be asked the poignant questions re: your relationship and other details of your families. but she should know all that anyway. so like i mentioned before, if no complications w/ your case, then she'll do just fine. just make sure you ask them when the visa will be ready (next day at the vfs pickup spot in govindapuram or is it govindarajapuram, i forget). they should tell you anytime after 3 pm. then i would just go to the vfs office and pick it up yourself (you'll have to wait in line which starts formgin at 4 pm i think), rather than having them courier it to you.

there is no big complication in her case..I just have one concern, my wife was once rejected a H1-B Visa (reason: employer's supporting documents wasnt sufficient)..hope it doesnt have any effect on her visa interview.

I do not think you should worry about that. This should not effect her imigration process at all.

On September 15, 2010 I got SIF.

On September 16, 2010 - AVR said my case completed on September 15, 2010.

On September 17, 2010 - AVR said my case completed on September 16, 2010.

On September 21, 2010 - AVR said my case completed on September 20, 2010.

Does anyone have similar issues? I am confused as to when exactly my case was completed. NVC operator said that they do not know why this is happening.

Ughhh..that's wiered...did you try to talk to an operator(human)?

Has anyone on this thread that went into NVC in August or even July received an interview date without an expedite request? Or is it too early in the game to get this info?

My Case went to NVC on Aug-2 and got completed on Sep-9...got an interview date for Oct-20..hope this helps!

Both of you should be receiving an e-mail (packet 4/ interview letter) in 2 days...Hope you get your interview in October...good luck!!

Yup - at that point, though, is not called an RFE - is called a 'checklist letter'.

Many times is a false one, so if you receive on, call NVC, get a supervisor, make sure that is not result of 'time-slippage'.

'sign in fail' is a status/condition that YOU have, at NVC, when utilising the online payment portal to pay the NVC fees.

If you can't 'sign in' anymore, then is good indication NVC has marked yer file 'documents complete' for NVC processing.

further steps past SIF -

Final Review

Schedule appointment (if NVC does this for yer embassy)

send out the casefile to the Consulate

what's avr? when should i call for avr?

AVR is automated Voice response, that's your case status update you get when you call the NVC (603-334-0700). Pl call them and confirm if they received your DS3032 e-mail. After this they will send you an e-mail when IV bill is ready to pay.

hello.. i just want to asked a few questions..i received the ds-3032 and AOS processing fee bill invoice on the email today. i'm just wondering about ds-3032 if i could print the one that they generate for me and fill it up and signed it and scanned it as pdf. file and send it to them thru email just in case they need one that has signature in it?

Did you already send DS3032 in e-mail to NVC using the VJ Wiki template. If yes then you may not need to send the hard copy again. Just pay the AOS bill and the online portal.

If I have the PCC from the local Passport Office do I still need to get another one from the local Police station? (The passport office PCC anyways pases through the local police station as part of the PCC issuing process)

Yes you would need PCC from local police station too.

today is a great day.it's my wife's 27th birthday(usc petitioner).tried to sign in to department of state's payment site & i was elated to see my login failed.so i immediately called nvc & to my surprise our case is complete.what a coincidence huh?we submitted all our documents on august 4 2010.based on recent nvc timelines i thought we'd be looking at a 2 month wait for case completion.now we just wait for the interview letter.does anyone have any idea how long this will take?any chance of october interview?thanks to all vj users...you guys have been great!!!!
