  1. Hey DiscoTrash, Good to see you man. How've you been? Congrats on your Green Card too :)

Remember those days? We were so panic and desparately waiting for NVC to complete our case and give us a interview date. Now everything is over and finally we all (almost) are with our loved ones :D

I sure remember! what a horrible time! When i go to visajourney, and see topics about people just filling the I-130 just now, i feel so bad for them, cause i know it s gonna be a while before they finally get their visa....

  2. Hey, you guys are here! or should i say "y'all are here" (i m in texas)

    How is everyone doing?

congrats to everyone for visas, and green card,etc...

I got here on the 1st of march, and just got my green card today (even though i was hoping to get my SSN cause i already had a few job interviews but i can t work yet without this stupid number).

It s been 3 weeks today, so i guess i ll go tomorrow to the local SS office, and follow indigo advice!

it s good to see you guys!

  3. What do you mean by "vaccination card"? Talking about your "carnet de santé"? If yes, well you don't have to translate that, you re gonna bring that to your doctor's appointment, and they are/speak French....

Are you already in the US? If you are, well i guess my answer is not really good. Sorry, i thought you were still in france and needed to do your medical appointment in Paris..sorry :(

  4. hello

I'm French and I want to know if it's really necessary to translate my vaccination card (from French to English) ?

If yes, where do you translate your documents cause me, so far, I found pretty much only spam commercial online for translation service.

Do I need to go to an attorney ?

    thank you for your answer.

  8. Thanks!

Now message changed to " NVC received the docs on ..... please allow 6-8 weeks ... to review" They received my DS-230? Is there anyway to

check if it was entered into the system?

Well it supposed to mean that they entered you DS-230 in the system. Call nvc and talk to a live operator to find out!I d say that you ll have SIF next week! Merry christmas!!

  9. I'm trying to plan out when it'd be best to file I-130s for my parents to move to the US. Presuming that their I-130 applications are approved within the current 5-6 month processing times, how many weeks/months on average does it take for NVC to process and call them for a consular interview? Of course, that is to the extent that there is some "average" timeline for NVC processing. Also, presuming that their visa is approved after the interview, how quickly must they wrap up their lives and move to the US?

    Thank you.

Well, if they have all the papers ready to be sent when NVC request them, i would say 1.5 or 2 months for NVC (if no RFE). Then, you can count 1 month minimum for the interview after the case is complete, but depending on how busy is the consulate, it could be more....

    Good luck!

  10. I had previously read here on VJ that it can only be done by someone here in USA that is qualified in it. You can't cut corners on this.

My wife is from the Philippines and there legal documents are all in English. No

Well in my case i translated the papers myself and made them "certified" by an american friend of mine living in france. When i say "certified", i mean she had to write "i certify this translation is accurate and that i m compentent to in both French and English languages". Her name, adress, phone number, date and signature. And it turned out fine...
