  1. yes it almost took me the actual 6 months they give you the visa for..tell him to try to see if he meets someone that will help him out there in the consulate..friendships in cuba go along way..

  2. just hold everything to the interview date and fill everything out, don't hire anyone for more than 20 dollars because we paid like 2 dollars and they did everything for us.

  3. guys you guys dont have to wait for the packet to get to cuba. you guys call nvc get your hav # call the 1866 number and get your appt. dont wait around cause it can be 5-8 months from now the interview..good luck..a week longer could represent an extra month believe me i know. And for those going to cuba you guys can go pick up the forms for your fiance its way easier..they get a telegram saying when the case arrives so he can go a pick up the forms..good luck.

  4. the affidavit its something you print out and the person fills it out. I didnt notarized it but you can just to be sure. You will need to print it out i think visajourney has it. also you will need the affidavit for each and their past 3 income tax. that they would pick it up in the interview in havana. good luck

  5. Well without the passport you can get her the appt so that will delay your process. Call the Visa Center and at least get her number case..to get the appt you will have to have the number case which starts with HAV and her passport number. As soon as you get that you can get the appt. She will receive a telegram letting her know her case is in the consulate and she needs to go a pick up the forms or your can print them out for her. As soon as you get the appt which hopefully its soon but at least 6-9 months from now. Get the appt set up and then call and make an appt for the medical ( which by the way expires after a year not six months. Get her the appt for 2 months before her interview..giving her enough time to get results and for her to be able to use it here for her Adjustment of Status because if it expires then she will need one here again. Good luck..here to help my husband and I got marry yesterday.

  6. I want to thanks everyone you guys have being awesome through out this process. My fiance is already here and I wanted to share that to obtain your social security number you dont have to wait to adjust their status it can be done as soon as 2 weeks after their arrival. Information thats posted on vj as well..good luck and another journey awaits me Adjust of Status lol.

  7. Yes an apt its require and make sure the appt is for like 2 months before interview so you dont have to do another exam here..the cuba exam will be good for immigration here and it last for a year

  8. lisel, it can take up to 5 months to get the noa2 which is the approval letter saying everything is great. after that there is a 2 weeks period to where is transfer to the national visa center and once that happens you have to call to obtain the case number which it will start with HAV..it can take less than 2 weeks ok. After you obtain that number you have to call the number to set up interview in the consulate and you have to set up..dont fall for the visa journey information about other countries cuba is different you set up your own appt...if your bf is from havana he will get a telegram after you get the interview set up with the date of the interview and a pass to come get the paper he will have to fill out. Mostly its about him. If not from havana I am unsure how they send that information but you can print out the papers in visajourney its 156 and all the others. The thing he will have to get now its his passport because without that you wont be able to set up the interview...and well once the interview its set up then you wait....He needs an appt to do the medical exam and he needs to have it for at least 2-3 months before interview so he can get all his paper on time..the affidavit make sure its a good one even though they didnt even looked at mine...With cuba its all having all the documents thats needed and good luck. Visa journey helped me a lot so research here all the phone numbers and peoples experiences. Not everyone has had bad luck. My interview was 4 min..My fiance its already here timewise expect a year hopefully less. Good luck and patience cause you will need it...Feel free to contact me if you need help.

  9. my grandmother has the Spaniard citizenship and you will lose everything if you dont come back to cuba within 11 months..thats the maximum she can leave the country for otherwise she becomes elegible to be resident not here but in different countries too..and yes i wanna say depends how you exit cuba to wether or not you have to pay for the exam. we did. and yes thanks god he is already here long process..good luck and no problem thats why we are here to learn from eachother..same way not many people know that as soon as the fiance comes from k1 visa he can obtain his social security number..hope this help its on vj..

  10. Beau and Digna thanks for all the info but i believe that even though you save money on the process and free medical exam once you leave the country you lose the privilege of owning a house..especially after a year once he becomes eligible to for AOS. He has like any other cuban that comes with a visa to visit USA. Let me know if I wrong but my grandma its a cuban citizen and she comes back and for because we dont want to lose our house over there..remember cuba is different with everything..
