  1. Hi All,

Can someone please be kind enough and to let me and wife know if this is good news or if someone got similar or same decision. I have just checked the website about our case and this is what is written there:

    Decision

On August 11, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

Does this mean my wife is approved for green card and we have just have to wait for it to arrive in the mail or they might as some for something else. I am afraid they might send us RFE for more proff. I am just nervous.

    Please help...

  2. Exactly what the SSA office told you - reapply again. This will work if she still has 2-3 weeks left on her I-94, otherwise you'll have to wait for the EAD or GC.

Her I-94 expired in june 29th. but her visa is still good until mid August. Were we supposed to apply for SS card before we got married or after. We wanted to do this once we got married to use my last name so that we don't have to come back again to change her last name.

If we went to reapply for the card again now, would they refuse our application until we get EAD or GC? I don't have days off from work and trying to work around my work schedule for this.

If we applied for SS card before we got married would she have received her card already. I am just afraid that we have to wait for EAD or GC to apply for SS card. This is crazy man.

  3. Hi All,

Please HELP us. My wife now that came in on K1 Visa, we are having issues with Social Security card. We got married in mid May and applied two days later for social security card on May 16th. We called today to check again and the office that we applied in is claiming they have no record of our application at all. She does not exist. We have two letters from day that we went twice in person with reference number and they can't seem to locate her in the system at all. We received our AOS notice of action 1 along with EOS. We even received her biometrics appointment.

Social security office told these things happen and applications get lost...OMG...r u kidding me and to reapply again.

Not sure of what do now.

    PLEASE HELP...

  4. There's an AOS thread in my signature that will help you.

Basically there is a 50/50 chance that you will need an interview to get the GC (depends on your file, depends on your local office.. no way to know for sure whether you'll get one or not). It will be a 2 year conditional greencard and after 2 years (minus 90 days) from getting the greencard, you'll need to file for "Removal of Conditions" (ROC) to get the 10 year greencard.

I've read that if you don't get an AOS interview you are more likely to get an ROC interview and vice versa if you don't have an AOS interview. Can't tell you if that's true though. I don't need to ROC till April 2012.

    Thanks a lot. BTW...love your avatar...hehe.

  5. Hi All,

After my My fiance passed her interview and visa and plane ticket is in hand she will be here at the end of the month. We will get married a month after she comes here and then we will start the process of applied for SS card and AOS.

I am just little confused on adjust of status, will we be called in for an interview after we file for AOS or this interview will take place after two years to extend her green card then. Detail advise would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks.

  6. CONGRATULATIONS!

Every time I read news about visa approvals I get a glimpse of hope that our moment is here. I live vicariously through other VJ members. Please give your soon to be wife a warm welcome to our great nation! May health, love and prosperity be always with you.

I wish you the best in your journey as well. Appreciated warm regards for sure.

    Take care...

  7. congratulations, when you come to the us you have 90 days to marry, when married and you use hislast name on the marriage certificate, when you go to the social security office file the form for your new married name, when your ss card comes in your married name get a joint banking account, some states won't give you a driver license until you show a permnanent resident card, and bills with your address,so file the adjustment of status soon as you can, and use your new name on all the forms, so when you get your green card it will come with your new married name.

    Thanks.

  8. [quote name=ER Team :)' timestamp='1298562659' post='4500251]

    Congrats! Well deserved, huh? :)

From what I found out... Apply for SS# no sooner than 2 weeks after she arrives (to make sure they won't deny her ss#, it takes 2 weeks for them to have her in the system). Get married..Then file I-485 together with EAD and AP - if you file them concurrently, they won't charge you extra for EAD and AP - will save you $700...and she will have her work permit and travel permit ( in case you want to travel outside U.S)...I think I-485 you file together with I-130... Am I missing anything?

Sorry but I am noob with these abreviations...hehe. What is EAD and AP?

Another question, If we apply for her SS# before we get married, will the card be issued under her current last name or that will change once we apply for Adjustment of status and then they send her SS# card with new last name?

  9. Hi All,

Just wanted to let you all know that today my fiancé has called me and she was approved for visa finally. Interview went well and tomorrow she will go back to pick up her passport with VISA in it. Ohh yeah...

It was a long journey, no questions about that, but patience has paid off. I wish all members good luck in their journey.

I wanted to say thanks to this forum and to all member that take their time in helping others and giving good advice. Very much appreciated all. THANK YOU....

I am sooooooo happy and glad that this is done. She will be here within a month and can't be more happy about it… OMG…. It's a great day for us today.

I have not really looked at next step moving forward once she arrives here, but as far as I know now we have to get married, apply for social security card and adjustment of status. Am I missing anything???

Can someone please be kind enough and to point me in a right direction of steps to take once she arrives here. Sorry I am beyond happy and I can barely type and at work ...

    Thanks.

  10. I don't see a problem as you have fulfilled your requirement of proving you have met once within past two years. Until interview, you have plenty of time for collecting more evidence - either another visit, more chat/skype/call logs, cards, gifts sent to each other...

Shouldn't have your application be approved in the next couple of weeks? You're approaching the 5 months mark soon.

I hope so. Sorry I made a typo, it was on July 20th when I received my NOA1. So by next month and half it will hit 5 months. Man I hope we get approved sooner. This waiting is freaking driving me crazy. But I guess it’s the nature of the game.

  11. Hi All,

I just had a question to ask.

I have met my fiance last year around September or so. And I have only seen her in person once back in April, and we have applied for K1 visa of course when I came back to states in April. We have been together for two solid weeks and it was the best two weeks of my life. And we speak to each other on skype every single day. We have received our NOA1 in June 20th and still have not received NOA2. I have called them twice to check on our case and they keep telling me that it will take up to 5 months for the application to get approved.

I have been seeing that lots of people have met their partners two or more times before they applied for K1 visa.

Does anyone have a similar story like mine to only meet their partners once and applied for visa. I am just nervous and kind of worried of what is going on with the approval.

Is it normal for people to apply for visa based on the fact that they only seen each other once?

Just checked uscis website for the 20 something time or so today and lo and behold my petition for k1 visa has been approved,i'm so happy can't wait to see my better half.

Good For you. Congrats. That was a very quick approval. I hope mine goes like that as well. I just mailed my package two days ago and they got it today. Good luck.

  13. Hi All,

Well today I have completed everything and I have sent it two day air via UPS. OMG am I excited. I know it’s been mailed out but hey, why not. It’s nice to be feeling good once in a while ...

Now that I have sent this out can someone point me in a right direction of to where to go to check the status of the application?

I have read somewhere before that you can go one US immigration website and check it there but I am not sure of how where to look. Will I be able to monitor my case once I get NOA1 in the mail that will have a case number listed or what?

    Thanks.

  14. Halo svima,

Citam i svi govore da su stavili two holes on the top and used manila folders da sastave sve zajedno.

Jeli to bas tako ili svi salju na neki svoj nacin.

    Hvala unaprijed.

  15. Hi,

I will be mailing in my completed I-129f package with all the requested info. I am little confused now. I keep reading that before we had to send 4 original G325 form for me and my fiancé. Now people say one original is good enough. Please can someone give a clear cut answer to how many G325 forms I should send?

Also we have never been married, and do we need to provide police certificates or court certificates stating we have never been married with the package. Or this will be needed to be send after NOA2 gets approved. I will be sending this out on Monday so any quick response is very much appreciated.

    Thank you.

  17. Hi All,

I am in process of filing out this form and I have couple of questions before:

    1. My fiance is in Bosnia and am a US citizen, and she was never married before, so for the questions about her previous marriage can she input none for all questions related to this.

    2. I the slots where she would input full name and address of employer, some of the things would not fit so can she put see attachment and do it on separate page and attached and sign that page with the form?

    3. For the file number A on the top of the form, will this be filled by them as their file number once they get out complete forms?

    4. on the bottom of the page Applicant print name and alien reg number, she obviously does not have this yet, can she put none?

Sorry am a noob and we wanted to fill this our correctly first time so that nothing does not get returned back.

    Thanks ahead of time.

  18. Hi Everyone,

I have just registered and wanted to say hi to all of my fellow visa applicants. I have found out ton of useful info here and save me money on hiring a lawyer. I will be filling for K1 Visa to bring my fiance here from Bosnia. I will keep you all posted on how this process takes me since this is my first time filling something out like this. Good luck to all of you out there going thru the same thing as I am about to go.
