Just like the title says. On the 6th received a touch saying my case was transferred to CSC to speed it up. On the 12th it said it was transferred to USCIS office (which I figured it meant CSC). Then 2 days later I get a message saying my case was transferred to NBC on the 6th (the same date it was transferred to CSC). It makes no sense to me.

Just a quick and informal poll here -
How many days after you were approved did it take Domesa to deliver your visa, and to where did it get delivered? Trying to estimate how long our wait might be for delivery to Medellin. And for those who stayed on in Bogota to pick it up themselves at the Domesa office, how long for that? So we can decide if it's worth it for Vanessa to stay on and pick it up, or just go home & wait, not to mention planning for the plane trip...
Thanks
Approved on a Monday.
Visa ready to be picked up on a Saturday(wasn't ready Friday night).
Basically 5 days.

We're finally in the US!
The POE was a little slow. It seemed like over 20 ppl skipped us at the JFK office. It took about 2 hours from the waiting and stuff. No questions asked, and the EAD was stamped without asking.
The interview was on a Monday and we received the visa on a Saturday at the Domesa office.

Thanks all! Well, for the first interview, something popped up and I couldn't make it to the interview. I thought I would take the risk since my brother and cousin both were successful in getting approved without them being there. My fiancee told me that basically everyone who went by themselves got denied just for that reason, and everyone who went as a couple got approved. They never looked at any of the evidence, and they also wanted her baptism certificate.
As for the second interview, I was there, and it was really short. Got inside the embassy at 7am and was out by 7:45. We were able to cut line 40 (2nd interview) and it took like 3 minutes to be called up to line 30 to receive all the missing stuff (baptism certificate, evidence of relationship). They told us to come back at 1pm. I came back at 12:30 and there were maybe 6-7 couples there that appeared to be on the same boat as me. I would bet that most of them were on the 2nd interview for my same reason.
At about 1:10 we got called up and the lady asked my fiancee if I came to the 2nd interview and what was my name. The whole 2nd interview, I was basically the only one being interviewed.
I was asked questions such as:
Where are you from?
How did we meet?
What do I do for work?
How many times have I visited Colombia?
Does her family approve?
How was the engagement?
Did I talk to her parents beforehand?
What are our wedding plans?
When will we get married?
What are our future plans?
Do I have any children?
Have I been married before?
The questions weren't on that same order, and I can't remember if any more questions were asked.
We spoke to another couple that got approved, and it was basically the same thing. It was their 2nd interview because the petitioner was not present during the first one. They only interviewed him on the 2nd interview.
Good luck to all!
BTW, does anyone know how long it usually takes to pick up the visa from the Domesa office in Bogota?

First interview = Fail

More on it later.

Does anyone know how much they're charging in Colombian pesos at Banco Helm? I know it's 350 USD which is supposed to be about 654,000 pesos, but I assume the change rate will be a lot higher. Not a big deal, but just curious about it.

Good luck bramirez!!!
Does anyone know if I need the i-129f form, noa1, and noa2 for the interview? I'm trying to find the copies I made for the i-129f but can't find it.
-

I have it, thanks. I guess I will fill it out again. We don't need it notarized, right?

Does anyone why the embassy website has the i-134 form that expires in 2007?
Here's the one shown in Bogota embassy website: http://bogota.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/i-134.pdf
This one from USCIS: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-134.pdf
I filled out the first one without knowing about the newer one. I'm sending my documents out tomorrow, so I still have time to fill out the new one.
Which one did you guys use?

hey Kevin from what i have heard is that for the medicals they need the interview letter and two passport pictures. and to go to the bank and pay the visa they need the passport and 2 of the DS-156 form.
Thanks, that's what I thought, but making sure
We have yet to fill out the DS-156 but need to do it this week.. do we have to just fill 1 out and then print double the copies, or do we actually have to submit twice for different barcodes?

I'm wondering what my fiance has to show when she has the doctor's appointment? Is it 2 passport photos and the appointment letter that she received and nothing else? And when she pays at the bank, what does she need to show? Thanks

LOL thanks! i just called two different Colombian Resturants 12$ to ship out but the problem is it can take up to 5-8 business days and he needs it by next friday and i don't even have the paperwork in my hands yet my lawyer still has to mail them to me. ahhhh talk about stress!!
If ya get moving and get it done, maybe the 3-5 days USPS solution can be right for you. Maybe if you call them, they can tell you if it takes 3, 4 or 5 days. To main cities, it's usually quicker. Good luck!

oh wow thanks! i live in south Florida and there is a lot of Colombian Restaurants around here where i go to ship my boyfriend boxes when i send him a gift. i am going to call them today to ask if they ship out envelopes and how long they take. if its to long i am going to have to pay at UPS 60 dollars so its gets there fast. thanks again!
It's USPS, not UPS.
The 1-3 day shipping is dependent on weight. About half a pound is $57.50 online and about $64 at the post office. For a pound it's $71 online and it costs more at the post office.

thank you yakad! i am going to have to find a way to mail it to him where he can get it in less than a week i dont know if that is possible
i need to mail it to him because it will have my lawyere signature. ohhhh no!!! i am getting worried now.
Pretty sure you can ship it through USPS 3-5 day international envelope.. Costs about 27 or 28 dollars. There's also a 1-3 day service but expect to pay around 60... Good luck!

Would also like to add that it's even cheaper for us to fly down there RT.. Such as $203 from FLL to Pereira and Medellin RT, and $364 for NYC to Bogota RT, and $434 from NYC to Cali RT.
-
I tried to edit my post to add some prices, but it didn't allow me to... Here's the updated version.
1 way: Bogota -> NYC = $267 (RT is $422)
1 way: Cali -> NYC = $308 (RT is $498)
1 way: Pereira -> Fort Lauderdale = $173 (RT is $260)
1 way: Medellin -> Fort Lauderdale = $173 (RT is $260)
All taxes included + 1 free luggage + you can choose your seat (exit rows, front 2-3 rows are $15 and the rest are free to choose).
Sale ends July 5th

Just a heads up of some of the sales going on at Aires..

RT: Medellin <-> Fort Lauderdale = 260
All taxes included + 1 free luggage + you can choose your seat (exit rows, front 2-3 rows are $15 and the rest are free to choose).

Thanks for the replies... I think I will hold the decision of buying it at a later time.

Our interview is on August 3rd.
Does anyone know how long it usually takes to pick up the visa from Domesa in Bogota? Plane tickets are super cheap from Bogota to NYC right now at $255 for a one way with taxes included, so I'm wanting to buy the ticket ahead of time (yeah, I know I'm not supposed to, but the tickets should be going up in price soon I think, and to change the date of the ticket is $100). Anticipating approval, is 9th of August (6 days - plane leaves at night) enough time?
-
Usually the round trip is cheeeeeeeeaper than one way. There is not problem if you use the first leg and save the second leg to use within a year
I only ask because on Aires and Jetblue, it´s cheaper one way and kind of hard picking a date in the future. So there should be no problem purchasing one way or will the people give my fiance trouble at the POE? Do I have to purchase the ruondtrip within 3 months away from eachother (since that´s the time given to marry)? Thanks
-
I´m wondering when the time comes to buy the plane ticket for fiance to the US, if it has to be roundtrip or are we able to purchase a one way ticket?
-
thats great that you emailed the forms and they wrote you back
its a relief when we hear back from them. it took me 7 days after they emailed me back to find out the interview date i called DOS it was pretty fast. good luck w everything. let us know when u have the interview date!
Thanks! I just realized I made a typo and wrote NOA1 instead of NOA2.. My NOA1 was Feb 22nd.

My NOA1 was issued June 1st.
NVC shipped the package to Bogota on June 4th.
Embassy received the package on the 11th.
I e-mailed them my forms on the 11th as well.
Today, the 15th, received confirmation that they have received the forms.
I hope I have a shot at a late July interview, but most likely I guess it will be in August.
Case transferred to USCIS on the 6th then to USCIS on the 12th and finally to NBC on the 6th (same date as CSC)

I couldn't edit the title. I meant to say: Case transferred to CSC on the 6th then to USCIS on the 12th and finally to NBC on the 6th (same date as CSC)
