Thank you very much for that answer. I pretty much already have all my proof of residency documents for the last few years set aside since it was needed for my citizenship application last year so that part will be easy too...
Thanks again!!!

Hi, would appreciate if anyone has any insight on this question.
One of the eligibility requirements listed on the US Embassy websites for Consular Reporting of Birth Abroad (CRBA)states among other things:
A child is born abroad to a U.S. citizen father(ME) and a non-U.S. citizen mother, and the parents were not married at the time of the birth: The child may qualify for citizenship if the father was present in the United States for at least five years.....,
I became a citizen a year ago but had been a LPR and physically living in the U.S. for 6 years prior. My child will be born soon overseas and I plan to do a CRBA. However, the stipulation above raises questions in my mind as to whether one would have had to be a citizen for those five years of residency prior to the birth or would it be sufficient as is my case to CURRENTLY be a US citizen who was physically and legally a resident(LPR) in the US for that required 5 year period.
Thanks in advance for all the help...

Is that like saying that court verdicts are largely objective, not subjective?
I wonder why lawyers spend so much effort and time trying to get jurors selected or barred from serving on their case depending on whether they think a person may be sympathetic or not to their client.
Try as we might and despite their guidelines to the contrary, I cant help but think that subjective decisions are sometimes made by VOs/COs with regard to the granting of Tourist Visas.
