  1. Wow, 1234! That fast!? Congratulations!!!!

Mmhh.. I'll try not to freak then... ;) I need to try to get busy with other stuff if I want to keep my mind off of this...

    Hey Frenchie,

I couldn't sleep and was reading your interview experience. It sounded like you had a mean officer....I mean, she wasn't very nice obviously. I definately agree that you had more than enough proof of marriage. As for my case, I only had a civil wedding and also house is on my husband's name, not mine. When officer asked about house, my husband said he didn't change the name because of re-financing, (I think he just made it up at the moment..) and officer said it's fine. Also, I didn't bring any of the congratulation cards, but I was never asked. In fact, a lot of things I brought ended up not being shown. I even asked the officer if he needed to see them, and he said no.

I guess some of them just like to give us hard time. But I'm sure you'll be fine. You've definately shown enough proof, and it's so obvious to anyone.

It is nerve-racking, but just don't worry. It'll be just fine.

  2. Hey Icepeck, don't worry too much about it. I don't know if you read my post about my own experience earlier (our interview was yesterday morning) but here's what happened to us at the end: The officer asked us if we had any questions and so I asked her "for what reasons do you think we would get refused?" and she kinda laughed and said "because you're so young and don't have a lot of proof about your marriage"... Although we did have a lot of proof, so that was surprising!! So I don't know if she meant "in general" that these were the reasons why "a case" could be refused or if she meant that OUR case was not very strong... (We provided ample evidence about the fact that we have been together for 6 years - pictures of us all over the world, affidavits, common lease, healthcare plan etc...)

And then she guided us to the exit, just like you and gave us a paper giving the name of the officer with the boxes "Your case has been continued for the reason(s) checked below:" and "Further Review" that were both ticked. And I noticed there is another box saying "Congratulations, your adjustment of status has been approved" that she DIDN'T tick.

So, like you, I kinda freaked out. But I think that some officers are just not allowed to make the decision themselves. They probably need a superior to do it. So I can only hope that it is the case. Reading your report about your experience only comforts me: we had the same experience, it seems.

I didn't get any touches or e-mails yet either. Looks like we'll have to hold on and keep being zen masters!!! :)

Best of luck to you, my friend! Keep us posted!

    Frenchie,

Your timeline is very similar to mine. I sent application on March 3 and my biometric was on April 6, and my interview was June 2 as well. In the end of my interview, officer told us that I would be getting a green card in the mail within one month or so, but he did not give me any approval notice or anything. And I did not get any email notification or touches on the USCIS case status yesterday. So I was a little worried, but I got a first email of my green card been ordered this morning!!

I just hope all the immigration officers are a little more considerate and give us applicants some comforts when interviewing.

  3. I had my AOS interview today-8am at the Oklahoma City Field Office.

We entered the USCIS building at 7.45am, went through security. We waited for about 30 minutes before we were called in. Our interviewer who was an elderly man asked us to follow him into his office.

To my surprise he asked for my I-94 and passport, both our IDs, took the I-94 out and add it to his file before we were sworn in with our right hands raised.

He then asked me our address, phone number, place of birth and ticked off on the forms as I answered. He then turned to the I-485 and asked me if the usual 485 questions to which I answered no to all.

He asked me how I came into the states and I told him F1 and he asked if I am still in school to which I replied yes. He then asked what I was studying, name of my school and copy of my I-20.

He turned to my wife and asked to describe our first meeting, whether she loves me, about the wedding, name of our church and the head pastor name.

He then asked me to describe how i proposed to her which i did. He then asked to see our wedding pictures and other documents in support of our marriage. We gave him Renewal lease, electric and cable bills, bank accounts, health, car and life insurance, and letter from my employer. He then asked me to give him about 5 pictures from my wedding pictures to add to our file.

He then said "that's it we are done. Thank you and let me walk you guys to the exit door." What? Nothing like you are approve or to be expecting something in the mail in 30 days. He did not give us any paper after the interview. We left the building not knowing whether to be happy or not.

No updates or touches on my I-485. Haven't received any text or email yet. Is this normal? Do any of you guys think we will be schedule for another interview? The IO did not give me back my I-94- That's the only thing i am happy about.

    Icepeck,

I think you're just fine. It sounds like a well gone interview. My interview was on the 2nd, which was a day before yours, and I did not get any email notifications or touches on the website until this morning. You'll probably get it tomorrow. I know it's nerve-racking. I was the same way yesterday.

  4. My Husband & I went in for our Interview this morning. We felt like the interview went great. She chatted with us for 5-10 minutes-- asking about how we met, what our wedding was like, asked to see photos and proof of cohabitation. We came very well prepared and organized, had all this information (and TONS more) ready for examination. We had all the information that she requested, and I didn't feel like we 'flubbed' any answers. We really felt like it went well!

At the end of the interview, she excused herself for a few minutes... and came back with a form saying that our case needs 'Further review', and that we will be notified via mail with the results in a few weeks... and we were dismissed.

After leaving, immediately called our Immigration Lawyer (who was unable to attend the interview due to being in a different state) and she explained that this often happens when the Interviewer/Officer is a 'junior' and doesn't have the authority to approve or deny cases. Instead, they simply conduct the interview and then pass their findings onto their supervisor who makes the final decision. I have no doubts that our Attorney knows what she's talking about... But I can't help but worry!

So, I was just wondering-- do any of you have any experience with this 'Further Review' business after a GreenCard Interview?

I don't have that experience, but could it be possible to be happened because your background check hasn't been cleared??

  5. I was also very surprised when I received my interview letter. It was so quick I wasn't expecting it. I'd always heard in the past that AOS process takes about six months, but apparently it's going a lot faster lately. Also, they sent me another piece of paper with the interview latter, which was explaining about criminal history evidence. So I thought "does this mean I have some kind of criminal history?" I called some of my friends who's done AOS, and they told me they send that piece of letter to everyone. (Am I correct?)

  6. The latest EAD card is white, with several holograms.

    ead.jpg

    Hey Markieboy,

I applied my AOS in March and I live in Seattle too. I just received my EAD today in mail, but my EAD doesn't have my fingerprint on it. And the picture is the one I send it with the application packet.

I am very worried why my EAD is different from everybody else's. Is it a some kind of error, and will I have a problem with it??
