  1. I haven't received NOA2, but anticipate it shortly (I had an RFE, but it was....checking a box, and my application is getting a lot of hits; plus, my member of Congress is in contact with VSC). Quick question: for form I-134, I collected my bank and employer statement back in September - if her interview date is, say, February or March, would I need to get fresh ones? I know police certificates can expire, but I don't know about the other stuff...thanks!

  2. Good thing you did. I think that RFEs that ask for more proof of a relationship are the ones that cause the most delay; I think the bottom line is to make sure you have your pictures, train/bus/airline tickets, and passports stamps, when necessary. The constituency services for my member of Congress said that USCIS raises an eyebrow to this new trend in online relationships -- in which case, be thorough and practical in piecing together the i-129F.

  3. I was saved by the Lord 4 years ago, and my fiancee, around 3 years ago; we both know that this is of God, which is why we are scratching our heads; we are both teachers, and as a result, are thorough in our completion of...all paperwork. We spent an obscene amount of time assembling this package and based on RFE boards I've come across, people who got those just didn't do their reading. The USCIS gave a phone # in the RFE email telling me to call to get information on what to submit, and then when I call, they tell me that they can't give that out until I get the notice....

  4. I love these kinds of discussions. 'Touches mean nothing.' It really makes it look like these people sit around and play all day, occasionally spilling their beverages on your file (causing a touch) or needing to move a box of them (causing a touch) to play a game or getting fed up with having so many papers around, thus moving another box into the closet (causing a touch). Every once in a blue moon, they actually sit down, look at, and approve your petition...but in that case, they forget to scan it, causing NO TOUCH! =)

  5. Hi there, I suppose I should, however I don't want to enter in fields asking for my name, or my fiancee's name; I'm avoiding putting personal info up on here; if there's a way just to enter my NOA dates and such and so forth, then that'd be cool =) By the way, my fiancee is Canadian and is on track to go to the Vancouver consulate.

  6. I got my NOA1 July 15th and like the others, a touch on 10/03. The waiting continues, but that universal *touch* seems to indicate that approval is on the way. My gut feeling is within the next month or so for July filers, unless there's a problem with your application. From what I've been reading, VSC is a lot quicker than CSC or perhaps others. Either way, our petition will be reviewed at some point, right? =)

  7. Aww, I think this board really serves as a comforting element as we wait it out - whether at one center or the other. No faults to those working through our applications - I'm sure it's draining work with little reward. I'm sure we can all identify with our respective jobs (I'm a teacher, and with the constant flow of kids, it's hard to savor what you're actually doing from moment to moment). I hope that these touches mean that they're following in an orderly structure and those waiting get some relief soon. =) God Bless

  8. Hey, thanks! Since I haven't really had the opportunity to pour through all of the AOS paperwork (I am currently on this), I wanted to get a 'feel' for what I was dealing with since we want to have another ceremony in Canada about a year and a half after the wedding that must take place 90 days after the border crossing. Additionally, if some family catastrophe happens, we want to make sure there's a way for her to return, if necessary (flying is not an issue, since my Mother works for the airlines).

'Advanced Parole Document' - I will keep that in mind when I get there and cross that bridge (again, I am still waiting for NOA2 - I'm sort of a heavy planner). She is going to (eventually) have her interview at the Vancouver consulate. Let me ask you: From the time of applying for the SSN to finishing the AOS, how much time do you think will have elapsed? Just wondering!! Thank you so much for taking the time to read and help. How about you? I see that you're a 'Canadian Wife' ? Where did you go! :)

  9. Hey guys; no, my Canadian fiancee hasn't gotten her visa yet (we will be at 2 months waiting for NOA2 on the 15th)...but my question is: After she does get that visa and crosses the border, when can she return back to Canada? I've heard a year -- does that all depend on whenever I get my SSN / AOS stuff taken care of? Thanks guys - I hope everyone waiting for NOA2 is in good spirits. =)

  10. My NOA2 hasn't been sent yet, but I'm assuming it will be in due time; in the mean time, I am being proactive in getting things done; my fiancee is going to eventually do her interview and everything at the Vancouver consulate. I went here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3739.html#Preparing_for_med_exam to check out how the medical exam works and there's no listed panel physician for Vancouver -- question is - how am I supposed to plan this or do it ahead of time; ie: gather the right forms, etc. to ensure a speedy process if there are no listed physicians....? Any thoughts?

  11. Hey guys, I'm going to file my i-129F package in the next week and a half or so, and my fiancee will be here in the country with me; I don't really understand how to fill out question #12 on i-129F; she will be just a visitor for a couple months (on a regular Canadian passport); I don't really understand this i-94 or i-95 stuff...any light you can shed on this would be great - thanks!
