I hear of this government is gona shut down and stuff. Does anyone know, will it affect K-1 visa and entry to the USA. Immigration is consider federal, so will it slow down the process or mess up anyone about to enter USA of a Visa? I hope not cuz my girl is about to be here first week of may.

Where I am from (Colombia) this means She wasn't denied or approved they just need all the papers to be correct for them to make a decision. If this is about her having her interview to receive her K1 Visa she would have to get the correct translation of the police record and go back to the embassy for another interview. What she needs to find out is that if she needs to schedule another appointment or if she can just come back when the paper is ready and take all the papers they gave her back with her just in case. Maybe there is a Customer service line for the US embassy in her country that she can contact and get more info from
They told her to get it corrected and come back. They translated document there also at the embassy, so she pay someone there to translate it for her. So she going go back in the morning. I hope that it and she get approve. Put i just got this funny feeling that DOS is giving us the run around.

My fiance had her interview yesterday, she told me that he ask her a few question:
1. How we meet?
2. When was fiance birthday?
2. If fiance had been married before?
3. Why did fiance get a divorce?
4. When did fiance get a divorce?
5. Do fiance had any kids?
6. Has she been married before?
7. When and Why did she get a divorce?
8. Do she has any kids?
That was all they ask her, she told me. She told them the truth and answer all the question. We knew that they might ask these question so me and her went over everything before she went to the interview. She say after she answer everything, the interviewer turn and type a few thing on the computer and afterward handed hers picture, passport, family registry, and poof of ongoing realationship back to her. he told her that someone has translated her police record wrong. It stated she was marry. But on the original copy it stated she was not. So he told her to go get it retranslated over and bring it back. Then he walk out the door.
The question is he never told her she pass or failed. Should I be worry because he gave her her passport and everything back to her, meaning she did pass? because i would think that they would keep her passport if she pass and when she return with a new translation of her police record. They would pass her.
Please give me your input, cuz i'm very curious of other people experience was when they recieve there k-1 approve.

Guess what happen today. I called the USCIS #, and guess what they told me. They say that although my case is outside the 5 month mark. They can not even put a request on my case since (according to their computer, Vermont is currently working on July 10 application). So they told me to wait some more until Vermont work on July 13 cases then to call them back. Is that some B.S. or what. Boy i was mad.
So i ask, when can they put a request on my case. They told me they didnt know how long it will be that i just have to call back. they told me that the 5 month is just a estimated timeline not a deadline.
So i ask him who can i complain to or call about this. he told me if i would like to make a a complain to go to the USCIS web site. thier are # and address on there for complains. But according to what i read on the website its mostly about employee misconduct. So wht now? I guess it worth a shot. Let's get everyone to email them and call them tommorrow. Pick a time at let's keep the complains coming from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. lets try to be heard tommorrow everyone.
I'll call at 11.30am.
here a copy of the site.

Yours is an age old situation. Your reaction is understandable. Prepare for the age old responce. Its the sound of crickets or the silence of the lambs.
Begin today by visiting your politicians web site. Find there the form they require to be sent in before they begin to placate you by having a trained staff person tell you they will look into the case. Send the form asap. Allow about a month to recieve the standard responce.
Dont waste anymore time on patients. As you said you are done with that phase. Now move into the real offensive mode that will deliver the result you demand of a U S government department that is insulated from any attempt you make.
Make an effort to go see them in person to make sure you are heard. There you can make the noise you want & see the reaction of USCIS first hand. Use USCIS site to make INFO PASS appointemnt. There you will be face to face with an officer of the USCIS. That is the most you can do & you wont be sitting on your ### until you get back to your car.
In the end you will find you are just another frustrated person in a long & never ending line of people that come to the realisation that its a long hard journey. Does anyone hear you? The members here do. Many of us have been down the same road marked Frustration Lane. Its government grid lock at its finest.

Thank you everyones for all the comments on my last post. i didnt think that their would be this much reply. I guess i really hit a good topic huh? I know that other people tell us to wait patienly. And i feel that much of us had. But i also feel that USCIS has a deadline on their prcessing time. If they cannot keep up, and will fall behind their deadline. They should inform the people that thier is a delay and change their dates on their web site. The thing i believe everyone here is mad about is we need to be better inform with any news on our cases.
We pay our taxes and our Fee, we should expect result. We can sit here patienly and hope one day our NOA2 will arrive, but i believe that waiting patiently is over. They stated it be done under 5months. I waited enought now i want result. I will call, email, or visit anyone that can or might be able to help. I'M GONNA MAKES SOME NOISE, so that we can be heard. It might help or not help, but i will feel much better then sitting on my dead #### and not do anything at all (that what i did for 5months). BUT YOU NO WHAT I HOPE SOMEONE MIGHT JUST LISTEN!!
I hope that everyone here will do the same, instead of doing nothing at all. I encourage all those that are over or about to be over there 5 months, to call, write, visit senator, congressman, uscis, or anyone at all that might be able to help. Maybe someone out thier will listen and can help. We need to be heard.

Ok my 5 months will be up 12/12/2010 and still N0A2. So you know i'm hella mad. So what happen now? I called the customer service # on 12/06/2010, they are no help at all. They just say you have to wait til your 5months is up then to call them back. I was wondering any VJ member know what they gonna do when i call them back on Monday after my 5 months is up. Tell me, i have to wait longer?
I went to my senator office on 12/09/2010 for help. they seem to very friendly and willing to help, but i havent heard anything from them yet either. I figure they probaby need a little more time with it. But i'm gonna give them a call too monday to see what up.
This waiting stuff is really B.S., I believe we waited long enough, if they cant keep there deadlines they should atleast tell us something. Give us some kind of information.
Sorry peeps, You know i'm hella mad. Just wanted to vent.

Does any one know what is going on in Vermont K1 visa approval? It seem if everything is slow down or stall. Are they changing remodeling or something? It seem to me looks, if everyone file was touch on 10/03/2010 and nothing is done with it since. i wish they will just look at our files and do something with it. I know it not pass the 5 months mark yet, but it be nice if they would touch it once a while. This waiting really sucks... bad.
Sorry peeps, just wanted to let out a little steam.

THE REASON I'M THINKING OF FILLING THE DS-156, DS-156K AND SO ON, IS BECAUSE SHE DOENST SPEAK OR UNDERSTAND ENGLISH WELL. SO I THOUGHT IT WAS PROBABY BE EASIER IF I FILL THEM OUT MYSELF AND LET HER SIGN IT. CUZ IT WOULD PROBABY BE EASIER IF I ASK HER THE QUESTION THEN FILL IN THE INFORMATION FOR HER. ITS OK IF I DO THAT, I HOPE?
YEAH I KNOW I'M NOT TO PATIENCE OF A GUY. I JUST WANT TO BE PREPARE AHEAD OF TIME AND SPEED THIS PROCESS AS FAST AS I COULD.
