  1. Hello everyone,

I just wanted to stop by and wish everyone the very best in their journey of having their I360 approved and finally getting their green cards. I went through the VAWA process 5 years ago, it took 20 months before my I360 was approved and today I had my bitter sweet ending when I finally became a US Citizen. I know how tough the wait can be, but just hang tight, keep praying, have faith and know that it will all work out for the best. Should anyone need advice or guidance on the process please feel free to contact me I'd be more than happy to share any info that I can. God bless you all.

    Congratulations lostinNJ...finally.

Thanks for coming back to check on us, I remember you in the very first VAWA(part1). God is good.

sandranj I sent you a PM. Thanks

  2. Hi Mayjay

I am sorry your case was denied keep trusting God for your approval he doesnt give us more than we can bear. But I would like to ask I dont mean to pry. Since both you an your spouse share a daughter together what about your case seem suspicious? Did they state why? Seem so unfair!

My marriage did not take place in the United States, thats all. It states that all other requirements were met.

  3. myjay yes I can help you to file I-360 and I-485.I will send you my email through pm and I need to read your first affidavit and to see the denial notice. What do you have to prove bonafide marriage?

Thanks sandranj, i sent them a lot of documents, bills, photos, birth certificate of our child, health insurance, etc to prove bonafide marriage/entered into the qualifying relationship in good faith. We lived together for 3 years. I will send you more information.

  4. Hello Everybody!

It's been awhile since I logged on this site. Congratulations to everyone that recently got approved, and good luck to all others, we will all get through this together.

Some of you know my journey. My petition was denied after almost 2 & 1/2 years of waiting. Oh well...I thank God for everything. I am still here and alive, so there is still hope.

I have stopped crying, and my self-pity just has to end, I have a 5 year old daughter to care for. So.. I am ready to refile my petition, this time I want to file for adjustment of status and EAD with my I 360. I only filed the I 360 in 2010. I need to work.

Sandranj can you help me? And others that filed on their own PLEASE help me!

I had a lawyer the last time, but I want to know if I can do all these on my own, or should I still use a lawyer? I don't know if I can afford a lawyer, I am not working.

What applications do I need to file for adjustment and EAD, please walk me through the process PLEASE.

My petition was denied because they questioned my marriage, they siad I met all other requirements but that. I have my original marriage license and other documents now so I am sending all that.

  5. Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement. It was a long wait for me. I applied on August 13th 2010. So 2 years, 3 months and 17 days later, I recieved the deniial notice. I am waiting to get the actual mail now. What a wonderful chritmas present.

For everyone else that is still waiting, I prsy you all get the approval that we so deserve IJN, Amen.

  6. OMG..Just checked the status online. I got approved today for I-360 after almost 17 months of waiting

Congratulations dear! Celebrate

Hi guys, just checking in on everyone . I got my approval notice and deferred action today. I also filed for my work permit. Hope you everyone is keeping themselves busy and happy at this time? It will all end well. God bless.

    Congratulations!!!

  7. avk, I am so sorry to hear you go through this. I know exactly how you are feeling because just last week I was feeling the same way and BAM my approval came on friday. I had lowest of the lowest moments and I contemplated in my head whether to commit suicide or not. I kept telling myself that how would my family feel? I cried so many times and denounced that God ever existed so many times. I wondered how he could love me and see me go through this pain without helping? As many times I thought about this, I would always dream at night with great visions of the future and God telling me everything would be ok. I would quote scriptures about victory anytime the devil brought negative thoughts to my mind. That helped me alot. I have no car,job or nothing I could call mine so I was stuck in the house for all those months. Try and do things you love the most.Trust me it would clear your head. Take each day as it comes.God gives us strength for each day. Concerning your lawyer,I think he is incompetent. Why not try some non profit organization in your area? It may take a while to get an appointment but this process is all about patience. I have learnt it through the hard way. I am happy i am almost done with this process because attorneys are a thorn in my flesh. My lawyer dooesnt even know that I have been approved. SMH!. It will all work oout avk and everyone else waiting. We have all been there. Feel free to send messages to those of us who have completed this process.I did that and it really helped. God bless everyone and remember God doesn't end in a negative. The path of the righteous continues to shine brighter and brighter.Good luck family

God bless you optimisticchic, your words of encouragment is a blessing. Thank you.

  8. Yeah let's continue it here!

    Myjay,

Would you mind telling me how do u get to US?

I got here on a student visa and got married 2 years later, but my spouse refuse to file an adjustment of status for me,

Which means that I'm still an F1 visa holder.

I emailed my school dean and she said that The Prima Facie on its own only reveals the status of your case it cannot be used for reclassification of your tuition status.

I really need an instate tuition rate.

I live in WA state and you?..idk what to do

Please guide me through out of this black tunnel

    Thanks

VAWA i sent you an email.

  9. My attorney & I took time to respond to the RFE.So it took about a month from when VSC received it to the time of approval. In total, it took about 18months + 2weeks from date of filing to date of approval.I pray they transfer my I-485 soon, i just want this to be over with & enjoy my Xmas hopefully.

Thanks everyone for your support & prayers.

I pray many more approvals come to each & everyone of you waiting.

Myjay & Macbook, how are your cases going, any news & how long have u been waiting?Do you guys have attorneys? How come they are not pestering VSC.I know I-360 is suppose to take anywhere from a few months-2yrs & if its beyond 2yrs, then somethg is wrong.I know there's a body that is suppose to help handle issues like this but you must have attempted to contact the USCIS body( VSC in this case )without success several times before you can complain & they will help look into your case.

Loveme & Memes-any interview notices yet?

Lorphelpme, Optimistic chic yours is coming...keep hope alive.

    Goodluck everyone.

No news here. I've been waiting for almost 27 months, and yes I have an attorney.

  10. Anybody plz?

You can receive financial aid with prima facie. But I'm not sure how that will work for someone with prima facie and F1 visa, I personally don't believe that matters. I think your best bet is to take your prima facie to your financial aid office. You need to have a social security number first, also fill out the FAFSA application online, and remember to check ELIGIBLE NON CITIZEN, before you go to the financial aid officer. Then see what happens.

  11. Thanks optimisticchic and sandranj, I contacted my congress person already, and they sent a response that i have to send evidence in other to qualify for expedited processing.

sandranj, please how should they say in the letter to have Vermont adjudicate my case.

My lawyer made an inquiry about 2 0r 3 months ago, and they told her that my case is undergoing final background checks :-( I am just tired of everything.

I have never been detained. I am not on probation. I am still married to my USC husband. We have a child together. I have never been in trouble in this country. I have never even had a traffic ticket!

Thanks optimisticchic for the link, I will read it now.

  12. Hi All!

I'm new here and need some advice maybe, I been reading this forum for a while and you guys always give me hope. But I think I'm starting to lose it now. It will be a year on October 12th since I've submitted my VAWA petition. I was asked to send background checks and I did. On March 18th I received my Prime Facie determination and it expired on September 4th. I don't know how to deal with this uncertainty everyday of my life. I'm full time student and want to transfer to 4 year college for nursing, but there are so many legal and financial issues stopping me.

I guess I just want to know if I should contact them and ask about my case. Also can I renew my Prime Facie even if it expired (on September 4th)?

Any kind of advice and information is very appreciated!

    Thank you!

Welcome saadat. Yes you can renew your prima facie. Do you have a lawyer?

You can also contact them in regards to your case status. And you can receive financial aid and scholarship with your prima facie for your education. Goodluck!
