  1. Yeah that's right... I just got a "DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL" message from USCIS yesterday (February 14th). Nooo.... not a Happy Valentine's Day greeting but a request for evidence(RFE)....Wowieee.. after 5 and 1/2 months of waiting I finally heard something... am I supposed to be blessed because my petition for my son has been touched?..then why am I nervous and sad at the same time  ... am I supposed to get mad  because it's going to take more time...Hmmmmm... maybe I should just chill out.... HAPPY WHATEVER VJERS!!

  2. Hello,

I would like some help to contact the USCIS regarding my case.. I filed my I-130 for my 3 year-old adopted son last July 2010 at the California Service Center...USCIS recieved it on Sept. 3, 2010. NOA1 was sent Sept. 8, 2010..Since then I never heard anything from them... I checked the status of my petition on their website.. it says it's under initial review.... I called their 1-800-375-5283 but all I got was an automated answering service... I need to talk a real person.... Please can anyone help me... I need a phone number where I can inquire about my case. Thanks.

  3. hello,

I am a US citizen living in the US and have legally adopted a minor child in the Philippines. I am about to file I-130, but I have questions regarding the legal custody and residency issues. my questions are: 1) When a Philippine court makes its final decision granting legal adoption, is it retroactive to to the date when I first filed my petition for adoption? If so, do I base the beginning of my legal custody on this date? does the USCIS recognize this retroactive date? 2)How lenient is the USCIS regarding residency. Do I have to physically live in the Philippines for 2 years? because in my case I am only able to be with my child every six months (1 month long visits twice a year) because I work here in the US. At this time my child is being taken care of by close relatives in the Philippines.
