VSC is sooo slow... What's going on? People who applied in May are getting approved at CSC, so not fair. .. but oh well, when USCIS was actually fair? Humm...

Hi everyone, I have a question too regarding citizenship. So basically you have to live in US for 3 years to be eligible for citizenship. What if let's say I spent 5 months abroad. Are these months excluded from my 3 years and do I have to compensate by living 3 years and 5 months to apply or it doesn't matter and i still can apply as soon as 3 years end?

I noticed there was a mistake in my biometric app date, I corrected it yesterday from 29 to 24, but I see today there is the same mistake again. Somebody didn't use the last updated list.

Personally I think it doesn't matter when one sent the ROC documents, what matters is when they were received by VSC or CSC. And it is not the NOA1 date printed on it that matters, but but how long it took them to prepare NOAs and to get them. Most of NOA anyway show dates printed just couple of days later than they were received, so what information does that really show? I would rather know when Service Center received ROC documents, and how long it took to get NOA by mail, I think that would be more useful for people coz that what most of us care about anyways. Now I sent it on 16 overnight, my NOA shows issued on 18th but it took me more than 2 weeks to get it. I think those 2 weeks and actual date when I got it matters most.

I have just gone to USCIS site to check my case status, but they say my case has not been found.. hummm weird, coz I got NOA1 already... how about others? Can you check your status on USCIS site?

Green cards are prepared twice a year and if your POE date is just after the last cut-off date, you will get it after 6 - 7 months of your POE date, so don't worry. Did you get your Social Security Number! If not yet, then go to one of the closest SS Office and get one.

Are you sure? How do you know it? I doubt that, coz I saw people getting greencards all year around, it takes usually from couple of weeks to a month to get it. There were very few exceptions that didnt get their green cards fast. My friends who immigrated to the US in winter got theirs fast, also those who immigrated in May got theirs fast too and I got an email saying mine is being printed yesterday. So I am sure it is more than just 2 times a year!

You would do yourself a big favor if you stop worrying. There is no need to worry. When you get there, be polite, be joyful and happy. If you start acting nervous, they will start suspecting smth is wrong. But there is nothing wrong, and they can't really do anything, although they like to pretend to be big bosses Just be happy and dont worry, everything is legal and everything will be ok

If you are coming on immigrant visa now, they will let you in easily. Just ask you where you will be staying, to sign some documents and take your fingerprints and you good to go. Don't worry, you will do it easy! They might also ask you why you were denied (if ever) and that's it.

Hey, just wonder how many people have done POE in May, June or July and are waiting for a green card? How long does it take? Looks like it is taking a while now, wonder why?

Hey, my POE was Dublin June 6th and still no plastic green card. But i received a welcome letter dated July 5th, Did you get one too?

I traveled with stamp on my passport, it was ok. So dont worry
