  1. Well, for my ead expedite request, i simply walked into my congressman's office, met the staff and told them i need it because of my new job offer... and that was done... My congressman rep got on the phone with the NBC representative, that deal with only congressional request and had it approved. I thank the guy and drove home, to get an email of approval. Please don't feel like that will hurt you case my trying. you will be suprised with the outcome. Understand that your Congressman will probably never see your paperwork. He/she has a large staff of specialized people in their twenties who handle 99% of the mail and email.

    Finito.

Yep, that's within the normal range.

You can expedite your EAD by either calling USCIS or calling your congressperson (either the rep or either of the senators) and asking for their help in expediting it. You need to have some reason (typically severe financial hardship).

Not sure about the AP, though.

It doesn't make the process any faster - just gets that particular thing done quicker. The green card is on its own timeline.

  2. So my 20 something year old congressman staff finally got a response from USCIS. Apparently, 2 weeks after I completed my biometrics, they sent my file to the Atlanta Field office and they were supposed to send out an interview notice to me...but forgot or something happen. Anyways I am happy to report that they gave me an interview date of August 25th 2010 and I should be getting my notice in the mail. Thank god....do not underestimate my congressman's reach....

  3. Unfortunately for you, USCIS is not bound by the average of the timelines posted on VJ. They have a published processing window, and you're still well within it. Apparently, your congressman's office tried to tell you this, but you didn't want to listen. I think the one who needs to take a chill pill is the one who called their congressman to fix a problem that didn't exist yet.

    Jim,

Try to move on with your life...FYI, my congressman's staff is currently working on it..I don't where you are getting your moronic info from. BTW, i got the idea to contact my congressman from the visajourney forum.... and it worked, I was able to get my EAD card and work to get an income to support my my kids...okay. By law, federal agencies have to get back to congressman inquiry with 3-7 business days...Where in God's name are you getting your info....You can sit on your butt and wait to get a response from DHS...TO EACH HIS OWN.

I was an April filer in 2009 and my interview letter arrived sometimes in August. The date of the interview was in September. See my signature. I don't think there is any reason to freak out.

    Thanks for the heads Up

  4. Hey Jim,

Most individual compare their timelines here,....and the reason I wrote something was to get ideas...so take a chill pill and calm yourself down. You can wait all you want.
