CONGRATTTTSS!!! so you received the email at 8:40pm??
Rachel, I received the text at 6:28pm PST and the email at 6:29pm PST. For some reason I thought I wouldn't get notification after 5pm PST, but they must send out notifications later than 5pm. Hope you get yours soon. I never called the service center so hopefully this just means they will start processing October and start moving a bit more quickly!!!

We sent color copies with our petition. I thought black & white would be fine, but the fiance insisted on color. I think having the color made me feel a little more confident that everything would be just the way they wanted to see it. My fiance had quite a few stamps that were hard to read and the photo page was a little distorted in black & white. If it is legible, I'd just stick with black & white.

We just received our text and email that our petition was approved! Hopefully this means that the October approvals will soon be swiftly underway!

We included the pages from both of our passports that had stamps on them and included boarding passes and itineraries. I think the itineraries aren't as important, but I guess it doesn't hurt.
OH MY WORD! I just got the text saying that our petition was approved at the CSC! Sorry, I'm really excited right now!!!! Yay NOA2!!!!

Congratulations! I hope the time it takes to get your NOA2 goes by quickly.

Keep in mind these two words: "Initial Review" Every time you feel the need to check your status online just remember those two words.
You would pretty much get 100% of the experience as if you had online access to your case!
Initial Review...this has been my experience with the USCIS online case status! I hope you can check your case status online soon.

I used the examples back in October 2010. I haven't received my NOA2 yet, but I'm thinking that if you follow the examples and triple check everything you should be good. Just make sure to check all of your forms! When I thought everything was perfect I went back through and saw something I had missed. Good luck!

I used a sandwich-sized baggie as well. I used a large binder clip to keep everything together for mailing and made sure that the baggie with photos was secured. I know they probably toss the clip right away, but it helped me keep everything organized. I think stapling the baggie to a sheet of paper sounds like a good idea as well.

VJ timeline is currently a mess. It's including approved jan/feb filers to overall processing. You'll get a better sense of it by looking at this to see the flow in approvals: http://tom.ae/igor_completeness.php However, it's NOT precise it still gives you an idea.
I don't know the answer to your other question, unfortunately.
Thanks for posting this! It really helps me to visualize what is going on with the petitions. Waiting for the CSC to process our petition with a NOA1 date of October 2nd.

Congratulations! We're at just over five months of waiting for the NOA2, so hopefully it will come soon.

Still waiting for approval...why is it taking them so long to move on to October?!?! I was getting excited when they started moving closer to our date (October 2nd), but there haven't been any October 2010 approvals as of recent. I keep my cell phone on me at all times and I check my email and the USCIS site constantly, I must be going crazy!

Our NOA1 date is October 2nd and it is frustrating to see no movement at the moment. I know that Monday was a holiday for government workers, but why has so little changed this week? I was excited when a number of couples with September 27th/28th dates were approved, but why is it taking them so long to move on to October? I would be happy if I were the January/February couples, but it is only pushing other people's times out further who filed further back...sigh...
