My wife from Ukraine wishes to change her maiden name on her passport to her new married name.She was told by her mother in Ukraine that she needs to Have an Apostille. Can someone enlighten me on this .....What it is and where to get it. Thanks in advance.

We received a I-797C, notice of action. It says " request for applicant to appear for initial interview ". Then it reads " YOU MUST BRING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WITH YOU " A completed medical examination (form I-693) and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (unless already submitted) I'll look in her papers again , but I don't think she got a form of any kind from the doctor in Ukraine. Our plans are to have her mother go to the hospital and retrieve her vaccination records and then have them sent to us. We have 1 month until interview.

Just got a request for initial interview.The problem is the request for vaccination records. I thought that they would be in the sealed brown envelope with her medical exam she had in Kiev. But my wife says that she is sure that the doctor said that they were not. 1st question. Who can I contact to see if the records were in the sealed packet? ( interview is in Spokane Wa. ) 2nd question. Will a copy of a email or a faxed copy of her records from Ukraine be sufficient? If not what will I need to do ?

Okay ,I Sent in 1010.00 for AOS and EAD .Package was returned .Stating that amount of the check was incorrect. I've looked and can't find the right amount. Can someone please clue me in. Thx

What is the process for travel outside the USA during the application process.None emergency travel .Wife wants to go back to Ukraine to get the rest of her clothes and to see mother.Will be gone maybe 2 weeks.Filed for AOS about 1 week ago.No delivery receipt yet.

Here's the deal. i used the phone number listed in the embassy info section for the Ukraine console. I called for 5 hours it was busy the whole time. I looked at the embassy web page and used the number . Got right thru .no prob. interview on Dec. 8th. Thank God for redial. I think I wore mine out ...lol Also i updated the info section on VJ.

I've been trying to call the consulate in kiev for 2 hours.busy busy busy etc. anyone have the same prob.trying to check and see if papers have been received.

okay , here's the deal,come to the USA if you BOTH want this, Make arrangements to stay someplace that works for BOTH of you,Would not hurt to have a back up place to stay. He should pay for everything , if able. Use the 90 days to see what you BOTH want. Do not get physical. That could be a bad irreversible mistake. Get a round trip ticket instead of a 1 way .It,s usually cheaper anyway. If it works out great !! If not go home and restart your life. You are young and have plenty of time. Either way this will be a small bump in your life 20 years from now.

I've learned a lot in life and the most important things are happiness and health. Do what ever it takes to have both !

Okay everyone, I reached my frustration point. I think we should march on the CSC....WHO'S WITH ME ?

I talk to my girlfriend every time I call her ...lol I want to talk to her everyday. But I think I might be a pest.So i try to lay off a few days.I have not talked to her since Monday morning ...Skype. I like it when she contacts me first...But she never does. I always call or email her then she responds. I think it may be a woman thing. She seems very traditional. So call him as much as you want. If he starts complaining .There might be a prob.
