I received yellow letter today too. Wanted three years tax returns had only sent two in. Hopefully I can furnish this year's before I am scheduled for an interview since my husband and I only filed two years together. He was a dependent when we got married.

Now waiting for interview date. Seems like it's going to be any time now. Notice said it was a pre interview screening.

Hi Everyone! My window opens on October 12, I am putting the finishing touches on my documents. I need to get my photos done and then hopefully ship out the docs by next weekend. Can't wait for the journey to be over. Final round guys!!!

Please get you address changed ASAP. This is definitely seen as a sign of cohabitation. Don't limit your evidence to two years. Give them documents spanning your entire marriage. Not a lot just stuff evidence that place you and your husband in the same household at different time periods.

I sent in:

four bank statements for our account at different addresses where we lived (which is only two) and

a copy of our license at our old and new address and highlighted it.

Copy of 4 Cards ( the actual cards) Highlighted the matching numbers

Electricity in my name

Cable in his

Miscellaneous mail addresses to us at our old and new address

Copy of life insurance for him

2011 tax transcripts - didn't get 2012 as yet and we didn't file 2010 together also didn't get an RFE for that.

Lease in both our names

One photograph of us

One affidavit

Don't let anyone fool you presentation is the key and the IO doesn't want to come to work and have to figure out if your marriage is a fraud and also organizing your documents well.

Mark both the envelope and the cover letter as to the nature of the submission. Example: ORIGINAL SUBMISSION - BRIEF FOR AN APPEAL - RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - etc.

Use the appropriate mailing address and mark both the envelope and the cover letter as to the form type. Example: I-129; I-130; I-690; I-698, etc.

Provide both the receipt notice number and the A-Number as an identifier, if they are available.

If the packet is being resubmitted in response to a REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE (RFE), please place the notice requesting the additional evidence/information on the top of the packet. Also, please use the special mailing envelope provided.

If evidence is being submitted in support of a previously filed appeal or motion, a cover letter stating "BRIEF FOR APPEAL", etc., should be placed on top of the packet.

In preparing your packet, please take note of the following:

Do not use binders or folders that cannot be easily disassembled.

Use ACCO fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions. Two-hole punching the top of the material for easy placement in the file is appreciated.

The use of tabs assist in locating items listed as attachments. The tabs should be placed on the bottom and not the side for ease in filing.

Avoid using heavy-duty staples; instead use ACCO fasteners or heavy clips.

Avoid submitting originals unless specifically required. Avoid submitting oversized documentation when possible.

If you are sending more than one case in an envelope, clearly separate the cases by rubber band or clip fasteners.

Don't use staples...USCIS hates them. There is a way to organize them on the USCIS website. Paper punch two holes at the top or use snap paperclips. Great tip I learned from a lawyer is to highlight my husband and my name along with our address and the dates for transactions throughout our marriage? Makes it easier for the IO. Keep it simple. Give them what they ask for. Don't overdo it. I got my approval without an interview and the dreaded RFE. Don't know it it helped but I believe it did. Your packet sounds to be basically what I had in mine. Good luck!

Congrats to all who received their green cards!

I have yet to hear anything from USCiS. I literally caught insomnia waiting to receive an email, text or to check the mailbox. Anxiety is taking over. Should I give them a call or continue waiting impatiently?

I went though the process last year and it took approximately 3 months to hear from USCIS after which it took me another 4 months for him to arrive in the U.S. The process is pretty quick. Every office has their different processing times and of course immigration worker but you should hear back from them in another couple months.

Hi VJ, i'm writing on behalf of my friend who recently had an approved i-130 but her I-485 was denied. She had an interview on Feb. 5th, a few days later she recieved a rfe for an affidavit of support. Her sister-in-law did the affidavit for her but she received another letter saying that her co-sponsor did not send proof of citizenship so they are denying her application on grounds that her documents were incomplete and she can appeal within 30 days. They have only two weeks left now before the 30 days expire. They went to see a lawyer and she is advising them to file all over again which i think is wrong. Can anyone help me? Has anyone ever done an i-290 before. What is the process? Thank you.

I too received an approved I130 but was denied 1-485 due to not sending in a W2 form. I had gotten the RFE and resubmitted informaiton that I thought they needed only to be denied. I spoke to a lawyer who pointed out the form that I needed. she duggested I refiled, this I did and I got an approval two years ago. I would suggest not to appeal but to file a new 1485 with all the rquired documents.

Received biometrics letter for my son and I for 01/23 and 24 2013. I will be taking him with me for a walk in when I go for mine on the 23rd as I am not making two trips. I must add that I am in awe cause I received my two year conditional in January 2011 and my husband filed for my son in June 2012, his GC expires in 2014. I submitted the removal of conditions for myself and not for my son. I did however attach a copy of his green card and the acceptance and welcome letter as additional sporting documents. Now I read that only if he came to the US within 90 days of me receiving the green card then he name should be added along with an $85 biometrics fee. This i did not do. no addtional forms, no addtional biometrics fee except for myself. I was never a K2 and did everything here in the US so I am quite confused but silently happy that we will be adjudicated at the same time. But if anyone can clarify this I would be grateful.

Hi Everyone! I mailed my package Saturday and got update that it was delivered today. Now the horrible horrible waiting begins. My GC expires on January 10th and because I really didn't want to go through the long wait of sending it two months before it expired I opted to send it now. Hopefully that will prolong some of the waiting.

Now I am on the USCIS diet...wonder how much weight I will lose this time... B-)

I agree - Saylin is brilliant!

I think that I have read on here that in the case of CR/IR1s, you can point out at POE that the visa should not be a conditional one as the two years have passed. Not sure if you can do the same for CR/IR2s but would be worth a try I guess.

I will make sure I am on top of it. I read that at the POE you will have to wait a bit but I will put in the hours since I have waited long enough already.

Hi Eveyone!

First I must congratulate Saylin for the wonderful job she has been doing and keep up the good work! I have been in the shadows reading and learning daily!

My husband filed for my son who is 13 years old and we just got an interview date for April 27. He had filed in April and 2011 but because I didn't want my son to be assigned a CR2 visa as we had been married less than two years I waited until after January which would have been my second anniversary! However they still have him under the CR2 category! Yes I am a conditional resident but I read that once I have been married to my husband for two years then my son would automatically be issued an IR2 visa. We tried to point this out several times to them. Yesterday they said the documents were already packaged to be shipped and therefore no changes could be made at this point. I will be contacting the Kingston Embassy as a soon as I know it's there!

Anyhow I am sooo happy as it only took two days to send get an interview after responding to a stupid RFE for two photos that were already sent, but ( long sigh) doe to going through the process myself recently I know how they operate and you only need patience and a good drink. Trust me I know and to think the second time around would be easier well it's not.

I wish everyone good luck and just take the timeout to read and ask questions and don't be afraid no question is silly as everyone has a different experience no matter how unique you think yours is!
