Never ceases to amaze me how fast people get processed I am the son and grandson of American citizens and I have been waiting since 1990, currently a UK citizen, I had to re-apply again 7 years ago and finally next month I have a Green Card interview off course I am subject to a 10 year ban on that date after paying all the fees and being approved because I overstayed my visa longer than a year back in 1993.
Also for the record I am a self made millionaire paid taxes to the states for 20 years have no children, never been married have a clean police record and I am the only person in my family of 160 that is not American, my punishment for overstaying a visa a life away from family .. Why did I overstay my visa? Because a fake bogus lawyer took my money in Los Angeles and never submitted my papers told me to stay put and wait for a response in about 1-2 years.
My suggestion to all of you is do not complain for one minute if your process has taken a couple of years, a few years and a few problems with application and a few boring requests by INS is nothing in comparison to the night mare I am living with this system.
